Everybody
loves
when
brisket
is
on
the
menu...because
it
makes
everything
better.
This
is
especially
true
at
HCBC
where
Tom
realizes
the
power
of
food
and
friendly,
small-town
service
to
evoke
memories,
to
bring
people
together,
to
transport
you
to
another
time,
and
I
got
to
personally
experience
it
last
Saturday
with
some
great
friends.
After
a
nice
afternoon
of
wine
tasting
in
the
area,
we
searched
for
a
bite
to
eat
before
heading
back
to
dreary
Portland.
And
boy
did
we
find
a
find
a
pot
of
gold
in
the
sleepy
town
of
Banks,
OR.
As
soon
as
we
walked
in,
we
were
greeted
by
the
owner
Tom's
friendly
smile
and
asked
us
if
we
ever
been
there
before.
Of
course,
we
said
no,
and
he
started
us
on
a
journey
starting
with
some
delicious
beer
that
is
brewed
on-site.
Next,
he
offered
us
a
BBQ
plate
that
included
a
potato
entree,
cornbread
and
the
best
BRISKET
I've
ever
had
(Seriously,
the
BEST.)
While
waiting
for
our
food
Tom
attended
to
us
with
some
good
conversations
around
the
outdoor
fire
pit
about
the
history
of
the
place,
insights
into
brewing/BBQ,
small
world
coincidences
about
him
raising
his
family
where
we
were
from
and
about
his
wonderful,
loving
wife
of
many
years
that
he
had
recently
lost.
By
the
time
we
left
we
felt
like
regulars
at
our
local
hangout
spot.
Whether
you
are
a
cyclist,
tourist,
local,
or
just
passing
by
I
strongly
recommend
that
you
drop
by
Hop
Cycle
Brewing
Company
to
enjoy
and
support
this
amazing
establishment.
Thanks
Tom,
we
will
be
back...make
sure
you
have
more
firewood
for
us!
