You will so hate it here. Knowing I keep this world class small restaurant and wonderfully engaging staff as my secret paradise on Neil. The food is impeccably prepared and the presentation is well beyond the price point. I cherish this place. The customers share my opinion. BTW, I have zero financial association there. Just a very satisfied customer.

I think they've gotten better since covid: large portions, fair prices, and great tasting food. Add in one of the more romantic outdoor dining experiences with awesome service and it's a can't miss option.

Overall very good meal in a good moderate upscale feel. Good energy and ambience and personable and genuine servers. It’s a small place, lots of charm… Appetizers were excellent, mozzarella, carrot purée, balsamic etc. Lovely chicken soup with coriander. Absolutely stunning pork belly and white bean, reminiscent of a fork ham soup, best dish! Entrees were pretty good, chicken was a bit between tender and tough, carbonara as usual is nothing like the Italian version of it; always an American spin. In this instance quite fragrant which is odd for such a savory dish. Walleye cakes, imaginative and lovely. A lot of redundant garnish usage and side profile pairings such as basil or balsamic or micro greens etc, two deserts with same pairings, trying too hard to be dressed? Simple is better! None the less we had a great time and I will be back. Thanks to everyone.

Went to Basi for my birthday dinner yesterday evening—my boyfriend and I agreed one of the best dining out experiences we’ve had in Columbus. Beautiful patio (that can be seated all year), amazing appetizers, entrees, dessert and drinks…& our server Whitney couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful! Cannot wait to come back soon!

My friend made a reservation after reading the reviews, and I was not disappointed. Although the interior was small, it created a cozy atmosphere that was perfect for a romantic date night. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Despite feeling quite full and unable to finish my meal, the waitress kindly checked in to ensure that everything was to my liking. I was impressed by her attentiveness and concern for our dining experience. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back to this place again!

Went here lastnight and it was literally delicious!!! The restaurant and patio area also have a very nice vibe and the waitress was super friendly and accommodating. I'm a vegetarian and didn't have any trouble finding multiple options on the menu. Highly recommend

This is my favorite hidden gem in the city. Great wine selection with options that you don't need to take out a loan for, very friendly staff, and amazing food! Inside seating is small and cozy, but not claustrophobic. There's a great garden/ patio out back that can be covered and enclosed if the weather isn't ideal. Zucchini Pronto is the best way I've ever eaten that vegetable and is a must in my eyes.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Small, intimate space with attentive and friendly staff. The most delicious mussels, which is saying a lot for someone who is pretty new to eating mussels. Great wine selection. The night's special dessert was a cheesecake mousse and it was absolutely amazing. This is the place to go if you want to have a special dinner.

Pretty good meals! Discovered this little gem about a year ago. I've been a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Both indoor and outdoor seating (heated and enclosed in the colder months). Every dish I've had has been super unique and flavorful. This time buttered cod. The cod, potatoes and veggies were so soft and delicious. Fairly long wine list, both glass and bottle options. Very quaint atmosphere, and friendly staff.

Excellent meal, service and ambiance! Our daughter brought us for dinner. She couldn’t get a reservation, so we just went at 7pm on a Friday. We sat at the bar and loved it! Next time we will plan ahead and eat in the charming outdoors. We had a bruschetta appetizer, delicious! Two of us had the outstanding gnocchi. It was such a wonderful combination of gnocchi , vegetables, sauce and cheese. A large serving, lunch for the next day. My husband had scallops. He ordered tiramisu for dessert. Even though we were full, worth it! So complex, flavorful and beautiful! Our bartender/server was also outstanding. Bravo!!

I came across this place by accident because I was looking for a place for restaurant week and everything was booked; except this place. I was very surprised of the location and even more surprised that I was led to the back. I was very confused but they have a front area and a back area that looks like it's amazing in the summer but they have it covered up for the winter with heaters. It's small and intimate, the seating is very close. The pork belly is the best thing I've ever had in my entire life. It's served with beans which I actually really hate but those beans don't even taste like beans; they taste like little blobs of heaven. I've been back twice already in a week, just for the pork belly and a glass of wine. The lamb ragu is good. The mussels are great. The Manhatten drink is delectable. The scallops are also good. The poached cod was fresh, but it lacked the same level of flavor of the other dishes. If you prefer something with less seasoning, then you may like the cod. Overall tho, amazing. I can't wait to go in the summer.

My husband and I went for a date night and loved our experience. Loved the ambience of the restaurant. We chose to sit inside. We got the pistachio flatbread for our appetizer and it was delicious! I got the short rib meal and he got the cod- we both enjoyed our meals. We were full and took the cannolis and tiramisu home- to which we enjoyed as well. Definitely check Basi out- it’s delicious!

Absolutely incredible night! The atmosphere is amazing and our server Jessie knew the menu like the back of her hand. She was super personable and made our night so pleasant and fun! Our favorite dishes were the mussels and the lamb chops! We will be back!

Absolutely delicious food that is unique and tasty. Less than perfect valet and atmosphere. The wait staff is friendly and super knowledgeable but the prices for the plates are insane. Not super restroom experience and fairly run down inside dining. Definitely split a meal! Huge portions.

Great little spot and a great little menu. But, if you are looking for real Italian food vs Italian - American food than steer away from the red sauce it has sugar in it which is sacrilegious in Italian cooking. The red sauce was so sweet that I had to check my sugar lol. Otherwise, I recommend everything else.

Every single dish was delicious. We had an excellent server who was helpful and knew the menu. Parking is basically non-existent but $10 valet was very convenient. We enjoyed our meal so much I’m reluctant to say anything negative, but the chocolate cake was slightly over cooked but not to the point that it impacted flavor, just texture a bit. Great place, we’ll be back!.

I was so excited to try this place after living in the neighborhood for a fee years and hearing rave reviews! We even waited a month for our reservation. I LOVED the ambiance and how intimate it was. Cant complain about the wine list either!! We got the mushroom flatbread to start, the cheese was sticky and felt almost like a dairy alternative, which was weird but otherwise was pretty good! I got the ricotta gnocci and my partner got the red wine short rib. The gnocci itself was delicious, but one of the sauces must have been an onion based sauce because some bites felt like eating straight onion. My partner liked his meal! However the dessert was the best part!!! The pumpkin cannolis were delicious!! I usually dont like cannolis but I was raving about these! Overall there were just some misses throughout the meal that didnt make it super amazing. I hope it was just an off night and want to try again!

This place is always fantastic. Enjoyed mussels and the halibut and my partner got spaghetti and meatballs (off menu), all great. Not pictured is the beet salad- was okay but really heavy on the walnut pesto which had a weird texture. Would probably get a different salad next time. Update: went back this summer and the pesto is incredible. Tomatoes are really flavorful right now so make sure to order lots of those. The outdoor patio is real charming. There is plenty of paid street parking for $3/ hour or you can get valet for $10. The service is always great here but my favorite server is Jess.

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Columbus. It’s as delicious today as it was 10 years ago when I first tried it. Amazing zucchini appetizer and the best eggplant parm I’ve ever had. Beautiful patio, all around excellent.

We loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing! I had the eggplant parmesan and their homemade tiramisu. I've never had better! The service was wonderful as well. Caitlyn was so sweet!

Italian gem tucked away in Victorian Village. The flavor profiles and wine selection are on point and best enjoyed on the private patio. Intimate, charming and perfect for date night. Those dark chocolate truffles didn’t stand a chance!

When we called ahead due to running late they were very accommodating and willing to adjust our reservation time. We sat at the bar and the bartender/waiter Greg was witty, attentive, and quick with recommendations. The lamb chops, were fantastic, as was the shrimp pomodoro, and pork belly appetizer. My girlfriend said this was probably the best place she's eaten in Columbus.
