We didn't enter the castle 🏰 but we did see a suit of armor in the window. There wasn't a Frenchman at the top πŸ” of the castle yelling at us saying "Your mother was a hamster 🐹 and your father smells of elderberries!". I enjoyed exploring the immediate grounds surrounding the castle. They are well maintained. The Fall foliage compliments the small gardens. A Japanese Maple tree grows on the grounds. My friend said she used to bring her kids here. The kids would run down the hill for fun. The section with the trails said it was closed for the season, but, people were walking on them. Dogs allowed but must be leashed. There was a Native American grinding stone πŸͺ¨ that I found interesting. A Cucumber πŸ₯’ Magnolia tree is on the property as well. Alert Treebeard! I would like to return at a time when the inside is open. It's worth a visit. A small parking πŸ…ΏοΈ area when the season is closed πŸ”’. One road in, one road out.

We had a lovely day at Winnekenni Castle! The walk up to the castle is a little scary, but only because people were zooming pretty fast in their cars up and down the hill. It was a nice shaded walk, and reaching the beautiful castle at the end made it worth it! We enjoyed a picnic on the lawn, and explored the area. Though the castle wasn't open, we were still able to walk around and peek inside. Very cool architectural details. There is a path that leads down around the pond area, which is also well shaded and fairly easy. We enjoyed the playground, which had a variety of different climbers for the kids. I've never been for an event, but the weekend after we went, they had knights!

The castle is not open to the public...the walking trails in the woods are very nice. The grounds are beautiful. Picnic tables, rest room, screened houses with picnic tables. Great shelters. Great place to visit..no cost!

The castle at Winnekenni park is awesome. I've never been to an event there, but it seems like a great setting, especially in the weather months. Two different trails to hike up there or just take the road.

I'm pretty sure that I've reviewed this park before as I'll go up here at least a few times a week. The trees are starting to bloom, once all the trees have their leaves it is gorgeous, in the fall the colors are beautiful. There are many trails, the view is awesome, there are 2 port-a-toilets (which is good). The last time I was there a man just kept riding his bike up & down the kind of steep hill/road to get up to the Castle: I was amazed: I probably would not even be able to do that once: he just kept doing it, my guess was about 10x's God love him. You can picnic here as there are tables. Enjoy!

This is such a beautiful park to go to. There is a lake (not able to swim in) a play area for children, tennis courts, many walking/ running paths, mountain biking trails and a beautiful castle at the top where they hold special events.

This was a cute quick stop. I gave it 4 because there were some not so desirable people here at the time we were there, but worth a quick stop!!

The experience here was better as a nature reserve (hiking trails nearby, etc.) than visiting the castle. The trails are nice and well-maintained. The castle was closed to visitors and there's no longer a museum like there was a number of years ago. The buildings are in rough shape on the property, but the small garden is nice to look at. It's a good place to sit in the grass and have a picnic. There is one port-o-potty available if needed on the property.

Not sure what I was expecting. It’s a pretty place to go for a walk, and a castle on the hill; but that’s about it.

Had a good time with new ebike. Only time I had a problem was because of a cowboy & cowgirl walking towards me so I did the natural thing & went to right-side of the wide trail and they went left. Causing me to almost go off trail into the lake. Everyone else was courteous.

The location was amazing. I have the honor of being a co-founder of a community of car enthusiasts. With the beautiful weather we experienced on the weekend of 2/11/24, we decided to hold a mid-winter photo session with my fellow car enthusiasts. The castle served as the perfect backdrop for our event. We were pleased to have 37 cars in attendance and thanks to the assistance of the groundskeeper, we were able to organize and execute the photo shoot seamlessly. Needless to say, it was a resounding success. We would like to extend our gratitude to the groundskeeper and the affiliated groups at Winnekenni Castle for giving us the opportunity to create such a memorable experience for our newly established car group.

Picnic tables with umbrellas, perfect for an overcast day with periodic showers. Trash receptacles nearby. The lawns are beautiful. There's a bathroom of sorts available but it was all wet. I'm not sure if it's hosed down when cleaned or what, but not a facility for sitting on toilet. Standing would be okay. Does not have running water but there is hand sanitizer available. Overall it's a lovely outside area. I'm not sure if the castle is open any longer. It was closed on Father's Day.

The castle is only for outside viewing. There is no entry. The castle was gutted by a fire some time ago. There are a few picnic tables in the park around the castle. The locals get a lot of use from the quiet that the area provides. You can reach the castle by a couple of hiking trails or you can drive there by way of the paved road from Winnakenni park below.

Cute enough place to visit. Although, the sketchy dudes camped out in their vehicle in the parking lot, windows down and blaring their music made us a little uneasy, so we didn't stay long.

Great place to walk, run, bike. Lots of trails that branch off. Can be crowded at times as very popular place. But there are trails less traveled if you get to know them. Dogs are allowed on leash and pick up after them and carry out!

Great place for a hike, this is one of the largest trees on the grounds, magnolia cucumber tree.

I went here on Saturday for the knight-fight event! It was amazing! The castle was beautiful and so was the surroundings. My friends and I sat and enjoyed the sun. We didn't go inside the castle but I'm sure the inside would be just as, if not more beautiful than the outside
