Love the egg benedict! The decor and atmosphere is so nice and so is the food. Latte is also great and the barista is friendly. Would definitely go again to try some more of their dishes 🍳🤍

Overpriced and underwhelming breakfast. 0/10 food ambience is cute just know you're paying for that square footage! I got the French toast which was served with only one strawberry and one blueberry NO butter NO powdered sugar or whipped cream. My bf ordered banana pancakes only served with half a banana and no garnishes either. Order of bacon came with one and a half slices of bacon for $5. I complained to the counter person and she asked me why i didn't complain sooner instead of apologizing for the poor quality of the food.

This review is for the Happy Hour! Tapas, small shared bites for food under $10. There is a set cocktail menu for Happy Hour. Prices are 50% off, however if you ask to switch it up, like change a Gin to Vodka, then the price goes back to regular price. Mindy, our bartender was fabulous and informative! I will definitely return again! Nice ambience!

Massilia was a cute spot with nice ambiance for brunch. We made reservations but it wasn't super packed while we were there which is nice. Not a lot of street parking as it's in the busy part of Santa Monica but there were plenty of paid parking garages. We ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict and the quiche lorraine. The egg benedict had fresh ingredients and was served on brioche toast which was interesting. Eggs were perfectly poached for that jammy consistency and the crispy potatoes that came with it were so good. The quiche lorraine was a little too toasted but still delicious and very filling. They loaded the plate with frites. Both dishes were great but a little bit pricey overall but you come here for the atmosphere.

Well I’m not the one to complain but…. I drive in from Palm Springs and was excited to find a European restaurant in Santa Monica near me. I was seated with my aunt, we looked around and the fans up top were dirty like really dirty, then we sat down. I had soft jazz music playing to cancel out the loud road noise and homeless yelling and cussing outside, the waiter then brought us water and took our orders, as another couple left and told the waiter I was playing music on my phone which was not loud at all just low tone for me and my aunt to hear, the waiter then came and told me to turn my phone off and I asked why? He stated there is a certain atmosphere here and if I can turn it off, so I asked him if there was a law stating I couldn’t play my music? He then said can you just turn it off and I said no I’m good, and then said why didn’t you say anything about my music this whole time I’ve been playing music since we sat down, when you took our orders when you brought us two different appetizers he stated he didn’t even realize it was playing and I said exactly it’s not that loud. He said there’s a type of atmosphere here and I’m thinking the loud homeless people yelling or the Loud racing cars with music bumping. Then he never brought me the tea I ordered so I don’t know if he charged me for it because after he charged me and he asked me would I like a receipt I said yes and he acted as if he wasn’t going to get me one I waited and my aunt was like let’s just go. 😞 it’s too bad she never goes out and I thought taking her to a nice place like this would be fun but it was all bad. Bad experience won’t recommend people to come here And just unprofessional on the servers part. So I just told my aunt no worries let’s just go. She said it’s too bad that waiter asked you to turn off your music since it was better than listening to the cars passing by just left a bad taste in our mouths and for $90 bucks and a 14.something tip I could of got better service at YardHouse and got my receipt like I asked for. I eat out everywhere and it’s too bad this happened at a place like this. Just killed the exiting vibe and great night me and my aunt were having. Not satisfied as a customer. And I need my receipt for other reasons.

Nice and modern place with a very European feel. The pizzas were outstanding, as was the appetizer. Huge recessed patio ideal for open air dining. Would not hesitate to return.

The only down side is the water us tap water lol in a fancy bottle. But the food was amazing. The pasta with the melted cheese....yummy. We didn't think the fries with steak was the best combo, but we were wrong. It also was great. 👍👍

Loved this place for a casual dinner with friends. The decor is gorgeous and the staff are friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and happy hour (ends at 6pm)cocktails great too. Options for vegans are pretty slim so would be great to see some more

It's hard to compare this to anything else. The pasta Bolognese and tagliatelle aux morelles is just amazing. Out of this world amazing. So much that I added it to my Best of the Best list for pasta. And the Burrata is equally amazing!

Massilia is a nice restaurant in downtown Santa Monica. We came for a weekend brunch but it wasn’t too busy and we got a nice spot outside, but far from the street so it was calm. We ate from the Dine LA lunch menu and were very impressed. Cafe drinks and appetizers were standard and had no issues. The bouillabaisse was very uniquely flavored and memorable, and the mushroom pizza was enormous and satisfying. For dessert we had tarte tatin, which was sizable and tasty. I think the food could be more refined, but given the low price we paid for the tasting menu, it certainly met my expectations and I left full, with a few leftover slices of pizza for dinner!

You order your food at the register first, they give you a number, and then you sit anywhere you like. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was was relaxing. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The brioche bread they use is a little on the sweet side which kind of clashed with my palate. I really enjoyed the crispiness and flavor of the potatoes. Overall the food was tasty, very full of flavor and the way it was plated was very appealing. The cappuccino was in point. Just what I needed. I would probably go there again to try some of their other food.

THOUGHTFUL, high quality food, the whole nine yards. Our waiter was attentive and hilarious. He made sure to check on us and help me surprise my friend for her birthday. The hostess also checked on us multiple times for any ask or need. They went above and beyond to make my friend feel special for dinner. Mushroom pasta and espresso martinis were delicious. I cannot speak highly enough of the service. Highly recommend the experience.

Nice place with options and good portions. We all enjoyed our dishes. The location is also great. The only reason I’m giving it three stars instead of 5 is because of the service. There was only one (!!!!) server in the whole restaurant, they were A LOT of tables. The server was lovely and attentive as much as they could but it’s absolutely ridiculous that management let that happen, especially on Saturday during brunch.

Absolutely wonderful experience. From service, to cocktails, to food everything was amazing. Staff was friendly. Caring and knowledgeable, steak frites was delicious, lots of flavor. And the la safranaise cocktail with yellow Chartreuse, super elegant. So glad I stopped by here for a late night bite. Staff still cared and weren't focused on closing. Pleasant experience. Great management. Highly recommended!!!!

I am really torn writing this review because the flavors were very good tonight, but every other part of our dinner was a mess. We had reservations for 7:30 and sat shortly after arriving but it took a long time to place our drink order and much longer to place our food order. Not a big issue because they seemed understaffed, but we had a show to head to after so we were more aware of time than usual. We finally ordered two appetizers and two entrées and about 45 minutes later all four dishes came out at the same time, which really is rare for a dining town like LA. We also did receive any drink refills. The bussers were also really absent tonight. Every single used dish on our table remained the entire meal and even after we had paid, and it was the same for every other table around us. It also took an unreasonable amount of time to get our check after we finished; maybe because of all the plates that weren’t cleared to alert the servers we had finished? Maybe partially. I suggest a QR code pay remotely system like a lot of other places close by offer. Management did comp part of the meal, but overall our experience was more disorganized than I expected. I started off with the Clam and Merguez Sausage appetizer, which came as my entrée, and it was actually very good. Little neck clams are something from my childhood and the sausage with it was crispy and rich in flavor. For my entrée I chose the Tagliatelle with Morels because morels are my favorite mushroom and it was honestly very good and creamy. We also ordered the Prosciutto Pizza which was a real stand out, the sauce with it was really well balanced and not too sweet. Overall the food taste was really good but the disorganized nature of the restaurant did not make it as great of an experience as it could’ve been. I may give it another shot in a few months, however there are many more close by I plan to visit before.

We waited a little to get seated but when we got to the table it was beautiful and quiet, perfect for date night. The waiter, Robert, was friendly and knowledgeable and quick to get us drinks and answer questions about the menu. Even offer some suggestions. The ceviche and baba ganoush were excellent and FRESH! The variety of appetizers and unique entry's on the menu is really a selling point for Masillia. We ordered wine by the glass and the second glass we ordered seemed to be different from the first. Inconsistency on the wine selection/bartender. But our friends ordered old fashions that were delicious. If anything the drawback was we were seated near couches where patrons were taking selfies and drunk tourists interrupted our meal several times. Atmosphere loud Also the steak wasn't cooked to our ordering and the entrees were slightly smaller portions than expected. Don't be fooled by pictures online. I'd say our stake was less than 8 oz. Tasty but slightly disappointing.

Everyone needs to go try their 8-hour lamb shank, I’m still thinking about it from last night. We did the Dine LA menu and the portions were so big! The staff was more than friendly and we had a great time. We enjoyed everything and will be coming back

Came here with my girlfriend for lunch. The setting and ambience is a vibe. Great date spot. They have couches for seating and they are incredibly comfortable. The food was 3.9 stars, but the space is 5 stars. We got the Pasta Bolognese and Spicy Chicken Wings. I was happy enough with both dishes and the price was fair for the quality. Both left something to be desired in terms of flavor, texture, and presentation. I would gladly come back here but wouldn’t get the same meals. It’s worth a visit if you want a beautiful and cozy space to enjoy a meal in. P.S. The otherwise beautiful chandelier needs some TLC. There is so much dust on it that it looks fluffy.

One of the best meals I’ve had recently … very attentive and efficient service, a high ceilinged dark but elegant interior… and the food is what one would say … extremely fresh , made to perfection… they knew their Tagine flavors. The calamari was of the freshest kind and fried to that perfect point. Crisp on the outside , not loaded with batter and indescribably soft inside… served with an aioli you’ll want to wipe off with your fingers :) … and the steak frites were what I would order on an extremely hungry day … that blue cheese sauce and those thinly done frites … quite an experience. A good wine list and super attentive and fun service … what’s not to like about this place ? 😊

We were looking for a dinner spot on July 4, which meant a lot of restaurants were closed. Ended up booking at Massilia, and I can't put my finger on exactly what but something about the place was throwing me off. I did love the inside decor, and the food was good - but something felt like a less "nice" spot dressed up as a nice spot? The food came out almost too fast (we were done eating within 30 mins of sitting down), although was very tasty. We had the burrata with stone fruit and the steak frites. Definitely reco the Roquefort sauce with it, and the steak was delicious. Burrata was also tasty although wished came with more than two small pieces of bread. Service was friendly. Patio was a bit loud from the street traffic. I'm not sure I'd rush back but it wasn't bad?

When arriving for our reservation we were attended by the busser, bar back, then the server kicked both of the employees out. There was lots of confusion for a bit. We were sat and handed menus. We sat for a while and saw that there seemed to be no manager on duty. Everyone was all over the place. People waiting out front to be attended and no hostess on duty. I honestly felt bad. Staff not even acknowledging the guest who were waiting. We saw a couple parties just leave due to lack of service. Once time to order no question were asked just asked what do you want. We kept it simple. We were in and out, 30 mins tops. This will be a “been there done that” kind of place. Menu was basic and nothing special. So sorry but, next. As an owner I would seriously have a tough talk with the staff and get things straightened out ASAP.

The ambiance was great and the service was friendly. The food was tasty but overall a tad lack luster. I would still come back here because it seems like one of the few affordable sit down restaurants near Santa Monica Pierre

Came here Sunday at 12:30, lots of open seating and easy parking at the lot across the street. The potato bravas were okay (and the sauce not spicy at all), the ahi tuna, avocado, and grapefruit salad was fresh and pleasant enough, but the star was definitely the mushroom pizza! Probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, with generous cheese and mushroom toppings

Unfortunately the hostess wasn't friendly or inviting when we arrived, so we were kinda disappointed entering the restaurant. Greetings are important! The place was PACKED, so we chose to sit inside. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and the offered seating is VERY COMFORTABLE! The calamari was OK, I am not a fan of too much grease, as that was my only reservation. My fiancée loved the burrata plate very much. We also ordered the mushroom pasta made with Morel mushrooms. SO DELICIOUS! They make it FRESH and it DOES NOT disappoint! The portions are more on the European side; smaller than most Americans are use to; however We found it sufficient. In keeping with the AWESOME mushroom theme, we also order their white mushroom pizza! We had an issue with the pizza but the manager was QUICK to remedy this for us. Overall it was pleasant but I'm not convinced it is worth a repeat visit. The restaurant business is HARSH so having polite employees goes SO FAR these days!

I would say it is brilliant! The servers are warm and welcomed. Foods are good! I love the clams with the bread. Clams are fresh, and the taste is soooo good with the source. Anyway, foods we ordered are impeccable.

Beautiful decor and chill vibes in this place. Food was flavorful and warm. Nice plate presentation and outdoor seating was available. The spaghetti tasted homemade and the steak was perfectly cooked and tender. The croissants 🥐 were super flaky and the jam complimented the flavors very well. Very nice spot and would come again.
