SCAM. CRIMINALS! TwinFin STOLE money from me! TwinFin charged me twice! They charged me 865€ deposit instead of 430€ are not willing to pay me back. I made the deposit and then they stole additional 435€ from my account. How is that possible? TWINFIN IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. THEY WILL NEVER REFUND ANY MONEY THEY HAVE TAKEN - BEWARE ! Don’t go there. I was there for a week, would not recommend it. It’s a chaotic, EXTREMELY DIRTY and run-down place. Flies everywhere, no soap, not-covid safe, loud dorms, contaminated water, wrecked surf equipment for an extremely high price. BEWARE SCAM!

Mixed feelings. First of all, shoutout to Carlos for trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. He really did his best, but still the camp was just underwhelming. One of the positive things were the volunteers, who were really nice. The yoga and the surf lessons (except for the first surf lesson) were really good. The problem with our first surf lesson was the "instructor" who just left us alone during our surf lesson and just went surfing by himself. He even left us out in the water and went outside after one hour without saying something. After expressing our dislike we got a new serious teacher (Moreno Stalin) who was amazing. Sadly, the negative aspects of the camp outweigh the positive things: 1. The location of the camp is very remote and you have to walk a steep street around 1 km from the bus station to the camp. I mean the view is amazing but it is still remote to everything. It is not easy to leave the camp without a car. 2. Although the volunteers were nice it sometimes felt like coliving with them. In general, the concept with volunteers, who should be working at the camp, and the guests is not really working. Your stay really depends on the volunteers. During our stay there seemed to be some tension between the volunteers and the tasks they were assigned were not done well by some of them. The eating area was barely clean and there was monsterous amount of flies everywhere. Also the pool was a joke and looked dirty. There was no shadow or chilling areas to relax. Most of the stuff was broken or not properly fixed. Moreover the surfing equipment was in a really bad condition as well. 3. No activities were organized during our stay, although it was advertised at their website. Except yoga and surf lesson, which we already paid in advance. 4. It would have been good to know beforehand, that there are cats and dogs around the camp (which by the way are everywhere in the kitchen, in your bed....) as I am allergic to cats. 5. Moreover it was really hot in the bedrooms and there was no air condition. You hardly could sleep. We know it was a heatwave during our stay but still it was unbearably. Thankfully Carlos brought us a ventilator, which helped a little bit. 6. In general the meals were fine, but it was soo unhygienically prepared. As I mentioned before the cats were everywhere and also (especially at the breakfast) jumped on the tables and walked around the food. As some of the volunteers felt sick in our last days we probably got food poisoning. First my girlfriend went sick and had to throw up, then shortly after our stay I had the same symptoms (stomach ache, nausea, diarrhea). Maybe it was just a virus and maybe there is no connection between the sickness and the camp, but still it would be possible. We are surely not coming back again. I don't know if we even will stay again in a surfhostel, because it left no good impression. In some words the camp in general was dirty, unhygienic, no real chilling area, extremely poorly located, flies everywhere and an ant colony marching through our room. Also there seems to be a problem with the distribution of work between the three managers. The only one we saw was Carlos, who tried his best and was at the camp everyday to pick us up for surfing and checking things out. The other two managers were not present at all.

Very badly organised camp Visited the camp in Sept2021 having booked an intermediate/advanced surf package with group lessons and on top of this additional private lessons. During my whole stay I almost got none of the above as there were no surf instructors to support the different surf levels so I ended up surfing alone! The owner of the camp asked me to drop my surf lessons for freesurf without giving me any refund and when I of course declined he said that this is the only option! My vacation was purely surf driven, therefore someone else’s non-surf experience may be completely different, but for me Twin Fin has been the worst surf camp I have been in and I do not recommend it to people that have surf as a priority for their vacation. The only reason I give 2-stars is Sonia who is the camp’s cook and she has been amazing both as a person and as a professional with amazing dishes every night.

I don't even know where to start regarding that surf camp. Easy the worst experience a paid for in my life, I don't even understand how there so much good reviews regarding that place. First of all, this place is run by volunteers, that are mostly here because they don't have to pay for rent in exchange of services like cleaning, cooking, animations etc. Saw no administration, or people in charge of the camp there. Speaking of cleaning, I left some pictures of the silly camp itself, the pool is dirty with no auto cleaning system, it's just a big pot with tap water in there, so I let you imagine when you life with at least ten people using it. In the chill area you can find dirty couches too, where lots of cats are chilling too, funny when you thing that the same cats where afflicted with worms during the time I was there, and even gave them to some of the volunteers shorty after, these cats also chill on tables near and eat and drink in your plates and glasses if you're not pushing them all the time. Speaking of food, dinner was made by volunteers everyday, it was quit good especially when you don't pay for it, but the kitchen was full of cockroaches, one of the volunteers got one in her plates one night and ran to throw up ... I left some pictures of these cockroaches on the kitchen table you will recognise easily if you went there. The place itself is looking like a squat volunteers are living in tents and taking shower outside. The cockroaches are so common there because they throw wastes just behind the camp in sort of a open air garbage dump and you can even find some rats hanging out near the chilling area of the volunteers. Now let's speak of surf, the reason most of us go there, it's not lessons, it's more like gear location and taxi services to take you to the beach and come back to the camp once finished. The gear used to surf, is in a really bad shape, and I am sure the people running the camp (whoever they are...) don't plan to buy new products soon. The only good things about this camp was the volunteers, they were all nice and funny, but they didn't really care about the camp. And the people I met there, but I only had chance to have nice people at the same moment I was there. Even the camp is not that expensive, it is REALLY NOT worth the price you pay for what you got. I don't recommand this place at all, and I wish I didn't pay for it.

Fyre Festival, Tenerife Edition. Sept 2022 This was honestly the least relaxing holiday of my life, and the only positive thing I can say was that the volunteers (they don't even pay them for their work, which definitely is part of the problem!) are lovely. I think I probably wouldn't have bothered to write a review as I'd rather just forget about the whole week and move on, were it not for the fact that they tried to nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. The overwhelming feeling I was left with was that this was a scam and a tourist trap, except for the fact it was so utterly disorganised. To explain: AMENITIES: The camp is falling apart & is revoltingly unhygienic. Dogs and cats roam everywhere, including kitchen counters, there are cockroaches and flies everywhere, my bed had bed bugs, my tent (which I was moved to after bed bugs) was old, moldy and filled with mosquitos, ants, spiders, and lizards. A week later I am still covered in bites and look like I have chicken pox on my arms and legs. TWO bathrooms for about 12-25 people. You do the math. YOGA: This was a total joke. The yoga area is a disgusting matted piece of dirt that is so fly infested we were never once able to complete a class because the guests were so uncomfortable. SURF: They don't take into account guest preferences or skill levels when choosing surf sports and times. For example, the week I was there the surf was much easier for beginners (which every guest was) in the morning, but due to disorganisation, a common theme of the week, we went mostly in the evenings. The beach is ugly, small and crowded, to the point it often feels unsafe to surf with so many people. It is all rock which is quite terrifying for newer surfers, and the waves are not easy to learn on. Surf instructors' abilities varied greatly, and we never had the same one twice which in itself is a bit ridiculous. As EVERYTHING in the camp always happens late, the first day we were an hour late to our surf lesson, so only got an hour instead of two. When we asked to free surf for a bit longer afterwards, as we hadn't received what we were promised, we were told it would cost €20. To explain, the boards and equipment belong to the camp, so this amount of money was PURELY money grubbing and left a really bad taste in all of our mouths. I never once had a surf lesson that was the full two hours, but I stopped caring because the surfing was so unenjoyable and they never once took us to a different location. FOOD: Breakfast was a joke most of the week - dry cereal, coffee, toast. Because everything was so dirty, I felt great discomfort eating at the camp. Dishes were not properly washed, the toaster looked like something had died inside it, the milk was often left out in the heat. Towards the end of the week one of the volunteers did do some nice cooked breakfasts but it seems to be entirely luck of the draw as to whether you will recieve anything edible. Enjoy eating your meal while having to twitch every 5 second to get the flies off your body. The dinners are very hit or miss, basic pasta while I was there, which at €10 is absurd. Other things to note: the camp is remote, there is nothing nearby. If you don't have a car you are either can beg a volunteer or other guest to drop you off somewhere, can pay the camp some extortionate fee, or can sit amongst the flies and detritus considering what life decisions brought you to this point. Definitely no concern for health and safety, not so much as a first aid kit. No amenities like shampoo, suncream, insect repellent, etc. The beds are very uncomfortable and the first thing I did upon my return to civilisation was get a massage due to back pain from sleeping on those mattresses. Although maybe that is unfair, as the stress of the experience could also have caused that. I feel bad for writing this as the people were lovely (and the volunteers apologetic for the terrible conditions), but like I said I wouldn't have done so had I not been slapped with additional charges at the end of a horrible holiday that was hardly cheap to begin with.

I had booked the yoga package with a stay in a dorm. Unfortunately, my room neighbours were sick and the dorm was very noisy as it was right in front of the chill-out area where people where loud the whole night. So I changed to a tent but had to pay the extra cost and it was very hot in there. The yoga class was disappointing and so was the nearby coast. As the hostal is not very centrally located, you where always dependent on bus or car. There was no shade except the noisy chill-out area and the whole terrain seemed built improvised. There where several dogs which where not friendly. Also cats on the table, drinking out of your cup. That's why I left earlyer and the manager assured me that I would get some money back. Despite several requests, he never answered back to me and I never got my money back.

I have had a bittersweet experience on this site. On the one hand, from the first day I arrived I fell in love with the place, as well as with the vibes. I have also met amazing people from all over the world. On the other hand, I have been very disappointed with the treatment received by Sonia, the manager. She is a person who is constantly disrespectful and has no self-control over her emotions. She yelled at me multiple times and constantly threatened to throw me off the surf camp. It was so unfair because I’ve always worked longer hours than I had and I’ve never complained about anything. They even had to take me to the hospital because of an accident I had at the camp and I kept working. Not only she did not thank me, but she made me do the dirty work. She generates stressful situations that break the harmony of the site. Likewise, the conditions of the volunteers are precarious, we slept around rats clawing at the tents. In addition, she literally treated us as if we were his slaves and had clear preferences towards some workers. This has caused all the volunteers to be leaving the surf camp earlier than planned. And, obviously, this also ended up affecting the guests because they did not breathe good vibes. A shame…

Worse experience of my life, a year later, I am still not able to get over it. The location was dirty (bugs in my bed, food not prepared hygienically), in the middle of nowhere (unable to get food when I was hungry or leave safely the camp by myself), activities were canceled or not supported properly to the point I feared for my life. I was planning to stay 2 weeks and left after 3 days. However, volunteers were super nice, that's a fact.

I have stayed in Twin Fin twice and I am already planning my next trip where I will stay for longer. There is something so special about this place that keeps calling me back. The people at the camp are what make the experience wonderful, it is a real sense of community and family full of like minded individuals. If you enjoy surfing, yoga, sunshine, great food and friendly people then this is the place to come. It is very very hard to leave Twin Fin!

Great position of the camp, just out of the crowd and surrounded by nature. Friendly staff and volunteers, experienced yoga and surf instructors. Comfortable facility and many relax and recreational areas. I simply felt part of the community and already missing the wonderful vibes I had every day spent in there. See you guys!

one of the best experiences I've ever had. I was able to discover a lot of new things, both in terms of food, thanks to the meals prepared by the volunteers, and on the island and the activities it offers. I would recommend 🌞

It’s hard to express how grateful I am for all the magic moments and all the beautiful people I’ve met in Twin Fin. There were so many!!!! 🫶 Living here, teaching yoga, and learning to surf has been an incredible experience and it’s not just about the waves and asanas, it's about the beautiful community we've built together. Community where everyone - volunteers and guests - people so different, from different cultures - cocreate a space where we can all feel at home and be ourselves truly. Thank you for the opportunity of being part of this 🩷🏄‍♂️🧘‍♀️🌊 ✨

The staff is energetic and caring, the location perfect for day trips, and the stars at night are unforgettable. Twin fin has a strong sense of community, and host great events like yoga and DJ sets. The only thing I would like to see is newer surf equipment.

Great surf camp. Booked last minute trip to learn to surf, and was well impressed with the camp - couldn't have asked for a friendlier bunch. Surf lessons with Sivani were great and the extra events organised by the volunteers (kayaking with dolphins, hiking teide) were a nice touch.

I have been here for a week now as a volunteer. I fell in love with the community which is super lovely, open and alive. The sleeping place, the food and bathroom oportunities are great. The manager Sonia is such a lovely person who gives a lot of good energy into the camp with her mindset and motivation to change things. Thank you all for everything!

I really had a good time at the Twinfin because of the people I met there. At the beginning I had the feeling there were more volunteers than guests but I definitely enjoyed the time with the really friendly and open-minded volunteers. The volunteers were creating the nice atmosphere at the camp, it felt like coming home. Also, a thanks to the managers. I was the only person who did not need a beginner surf lesson. They did everything to find a surf teacher for me and instead I got some private surf lessons. If you need something just talk to them and they are willing to help you as good as they can. If you want to be in the nature and get a distance from the rush in the south, the Twinfin is a nice place to relax and get the head clear.

I was staying at TwinFin for 6 weeks this summer, and it was an overall incredible experience. I had some doubts after reading some of the comments here in Google, about people complaining of dirt and animals. When visiting TwinFin, you have to understand that this is a mostly outdoor camp in a southern island. There can be some sand here and there from the deserty location, and there can be a bug running around sometimes. But the managers and volunteers there are taking care of the place wonderfully, are keeping it clean, and are creating a magical atmosphere that makes you feel just like at home within minutes. The yoga sessions were really wonderful. They take place in a nice yoga area with the best view offer the ocean and to the surrounding islands. The yoga teachers create really nice practices, that are a perfect balance to the surf. The surf lessons were really helpful. Under all possible conditions, and even though in the surfspot can be quite full, they managed to maker every surf session meaningful. I was with 3 teachers over the time, everyone of them was caring personally to make my surf better, and could give me individual tips. I was first in the shared room, which is of top condition with new and comfy mattresses. I later changed to the glamping, which was the best decision. To wake up at night and see the Milky Way from the tent entry, was one of my happiest moments in TwinFin. TwinFin provides a Coworking area, which is super chill to work in, has a nice climate, fast internet, and view over the ocean. The location of the place is far away from the touristic center, which creates some of the charm. At the same time, I would recommend to get a car if you would like to see places around the island. Tenerife’s bus system is not the greatest. TwinFin itself also provides a lot of activities apart from surfing, such as Kayaking with dolphins and snorkeling with turtles. During my stay, one of the cats had some kittens. Over my my stay I would watch the grow, which was just so nice to observe. I would love to come back to this magical place. They are constantly working on making this place even nicer as it is already. Just when I was leaving they were setting up a foodtruck, to create a bar area to provide bowls and drinks. See you soon, TwinFin!

TwinFin has been a bittersweet experience. You definetely get the surf vibes from the very first day. The camp itself is just perfectly spotted in a peace and quiet environment and both volunteers and workers are just LOVELY. They ALL made my stay very comfortable and unforgettable. Also, the people I met there were sooo nice, with whom you could organize any additional activities in or outside the camp. However, there are some things to be improved: surf equipment is not the best and it does not fit for every level (mainly beginners). If you are advanced, it perhaps is not your best surf camp to go. Moreover, there are a few activities mentioned on the website (rock climbing, kayaking, whalewatching, skateboarding), which were not organized at all, even there were quite a few people who would have joined. My overall point is highly positive, especially with top 3 things: yoga with unique sunsets (this still drives me crazy), delicious homemade food from Sonia and outside shower with sunset and La Gomera at the horizon.

I was in the twin fin surf camp for a short week and i had a lot of fun! You should not expect luxury, but if you can handle it, you should definitely visit. I think the nice thing about the camp is that you spend a week with all kinds of people you don't know but get to know so quickly. The camp is run by volunteers and without them the camp would be nothing. I received the surfing lessons from Zuhe, a good teacher from whom I learned a lot. I really liked it! Unfortunately I broke my toe and had to go to the hospital, but Zuhe went with me every time to help, without him I couldn't have done it. Furthermore, many nice and sweet people in the camp, I would like to go back again.

A great place especially if you are traveling alone, you soon meet other travelers with whom you can make plans together. The environment is nice and very quiet, and the Twin Fin team is very close and friendly. The food is delicious and they also organize a variety of activities! 100% recommendable!

Awesome people and community. Would definitely recommend the glamping for connecting with nature. Place is nice but a bit far from everything, amenities are OK, and upfront information not the best, but in the end it is easy to fond your way and you'll have a great stay.

I was happy to come back to Twin Fin Surf Camp for a second solo stay in Christmas 2022. The previous stay was in February 2020 for surfing. This time I went just for community, shared vegan meals and the relaxed and friendly company of staff/volunteers and like-minded guests. There are nice activities such as surfing, paragliding and a very nice car trip up the slope of volcano Teide with hiking and starwatching. I had good time at Twin Fin, met some nice people (and 5 cats/kittens!) and I would love to come back a third time in the future.

It was so exciting. I will never forget my first surf lesson. The instructor is extremely competent, explains everything clearly, helps to master surfing in the best way. Best guys. Within an hour, I was already able to stay on the board, cutting through the waves! The best thing that could happen to me. Adore, adore, adore it!!!!

Really nice hostel with great vibe, really lovely people and fantastic staff. Set in a beautiful landscape the hostel is slightly off the beaten track but still well situated for discovering the south of the island or just enjoying the hostel grounds. Will definitely go back to this awesome hostel! Beautiful place and people :)
