The so-called park was unfortunately a complete disappointment. Every hotel complex and even every public park is more beautifully designed and better maintained. The main attraction of the "park", the dragon tree, is estimated to be about 1000-2000 years old. It was probably around this time that the park was last maintained. At the main entrance is a huge vending machine with a wayward touch screen that is good at one thing in particular: Produce a queue. Adults are allowed to pay an entrance fee of 5€ after conquering it. As we later discover, that's 6€ too much.

Thanks to the comments below I saved 5 EUR ;-) you should do that too! Follow the way a little bit more down and take the stone path right left at the parks end. See my pictures for details. I think the view is even better than what you can get in the park - especially with a nice sun set :)! Enjoy!!

This Dragon tree, it's better to see it in its full glory from the square opposite as you are higher up and can see the whole tree. You can pay to go into the park to see it, but the view is better from where I mentioned and free. It is between 800 and 1000 years old they said.

Dragon Tree at its best by the bells 🔔⛪️ The must see of the Tenerife landmarks. Drop by and walk around the park and check out the Tree from the botanical garden. No need to go to the Drago Parque as its seen at its best from the side of the alley by the church. Enjoy the wonderful garden and its greatness!

Small entrance fee. Kids always go half price. The tree itself is amazing. Not quite sure about the age as different sources states different age. Person on the door said it is about 2000 years old. The park round is worth to walk around. There is a cave. We could see different size lizards warming up in the sun. There is also picnic area but the little snack bar was closed presumably because of covid restrictions.

Very peaceful place, even on a busy weekend with plenty of tourists. A great variety of botanicals to see and the joy of exploring a lava tube. However, the Dragon tree is the masterpiece, and what a beauty she is, so majestic. I could spend hours just sitting under her cover, thinking about what the island must have been like 1000+ years ago covered in trees just as majestic as her.

I love this place, lots of plantation, and you will see the popular tree of the island along with other special trees. The entrance fee is 5 euro. There is parking available with a fee. There is a ticket machine right on the entrance. There is a coffee shop and a souvenir shop inside.

The oldest tree is only accessible from the museum and it is impossible to get closer than a few metres. There is a similar tree on the island and I like its location and appearance better.

Impressive Drago tree placed in a nice park setting. Entrance via road is a bit tricky, and parking is limited. One enters either at a quick turnstile about 20 feet from the parking or further down the walkway to the main entrance. You scan the qt code to purchase tickets ( 5 eoros) and are given a map. There's an art building on site. The tree itself is huge. Many plants and a walk through section describing them.

Wonderful little park with different birds, butterflies and lizards. There is a little cave system to explore as well. It wasn't expensive with 5 euro per person.

Tourist trap. We fell for this as we saw the big entrance whilst looking for parking and thought this was the only way to see the tree. Note: you can definitely see a full unobstructed view of the tree without having to pay to go in the park. The gardens and landscaping inside does not add any extra value. Disappointing. But! The only positive that came out of it was that we walked by Casa Del Drago which was such a good find for a quick rest stop.

How to visit: 📷The best photos can be made from the viewpoint near the tree so you don't need to pay a 5eur entrance fee. If you want to see the dragon tree closer (5m instead of 20m) you can find approximately the same tree in 200m in the street which goes up. 🕰The viewpoint is open 24/7, so if you are on a 🚘car trip - don’t care about open hours - it's just a timeframe when they sell tickets to come closer to the tree. So you can see the tree and take selfies anytime. Moreover, it does not make sense to come closer to the tree to take photos as it is more difficult to get the tree in the frame.

This tree is one of the symbols of Tenerife. A beautiful view from the observation place which is next to the church. The small well-kept park is nearby the tree, where you can take a walk. Parking is paid, there are cafes and restaurants in the town where you can have a launch.

I highly recommend to visit this place! It is a botanical garden with the entrance fee of 5 euro, or less.(if you are a student etc.)It is totally worthy the price. The Dragon Tree itself is a quite an impressive sight as well as other palms collection around.Go without hesitation,it is open till 19.(but check the hours before going)Also check out a cafe that you can enter through the garden, the vibe is cool, the restaurant garden is amazing and you can get some awesome local crafts and produce! The town itself is quite charming. This place has a special place in my 💓

5€ charge to see the tree is an absolute rip off. They don't want you to know this but there's another one of the exact same tree, that you can get right next to, for free! See the picture in this review. This one's a 5 minute stroll up the street from the overpriced garden.

The tree was quite spectacular in stature and with its lengthy history. It was a beautiful walk around the gardens and the T rooms were very quirky as well as having a delicious menu. . A very pleasant visit.

A pretty botanical garden, I enjoyed the herbal and fruit garden the most. Some parts felt a bit empty though, and perhaps not utilized to the garden’s full potential. I unfortunately didnt understand what was the cave about, because the only information sign in the whole cave was placed so far away from the path and so dimly lit, that I unfortunately couldnt read it at all.

A fascinating garden that is home to much more than the tree (which is beautiful!). We may have spent an hour and could have spent more. We saw and read about many types of lizards and medicinal plants. It was an educational and enjoyable visit (and quite worth €5).

Good shaded park, some amazing trees, and the magnificent Dragon plant. Locals walking their dogs or just going about their business, nice to spend a couple of hours relaxing

The park is nice but I expected something more. The tickets are not expensive (5 euros per adult), it's worth going there to see the tree and that was my main goal, but there's nothing interesting besides it.

The Drago was so interesting! There was something just magnetizing about visiting a tree with that much history to it. We paid 10€ to go into the park (for 2 people) and the whole experience took about an hour. We saw the Drago, looked through the medicine garden, saw the beautiful look out, the historical caves tour and just enjoyed the garden. We didn't know this when we got there, but you can see the Drago from outside of the park. Had we known we might not have paid to go in, but we don't regret going in. It was a fun experience!

We enjoyed the palmetum in Santa Cruz more, but this is a lovely little park and Icod de los Vinos is a charming town. The ancient lava tube houses are a bonus and amazing to see.

It's a nice for something to do. The dragon tree is so big and old. I enjoyed the walk around the site and looking at the botanical garden and cave. There is a cafe which looks like it's on site but it's not. The staff there don't even acknowledge you for ages until you give up getting served and all they want to know is if you have a ticket to enter the dragon tree garden. The garden is good value for money.

A beautiful park with the oldest dragon blood tree. Tickets cost €5 for an adult and €2.5 for a kid. Only the toilet is too simple, and just has one.

This was a very interesting experience. We attended as part of an organised tour via a 3rd party. Firstly we went to a nearby gift shop following a brief intro to the surrounding grounds, gardens, caves and buildings. The Dragon tree is very well looked after and vehicles are no longer able to get close. Access is by foot only. Once through the main gates to the park we were greeted by a guide who gave us a really interesting walk and talk intro to the tree, it's surroundings, etc. It's somewhere between 1000-2000 years old and quite unique in many ways. Close by there is a gift shop, restaurant, toilets and lots of park area to explore. This is also the home of a certain type of lizard which is only found in this location and nowhere else in the world.

Definitely worth visiting. The park surrounding the ancient wonder is lovely and so is the neighbouring church square from where you can also admire the dragon tree. Take your time to stroll and don't rush it, the place has a vibe to it where time stands still.

One of the Key attractions of the Luscious North of the Island. The tree is magnificent in all its 1000 year history. The gardens and museum with wonderful Vistas are well worth visiting too. The cave in also available to enter.

Fantastic park with the drago tree. Bus 363 from Puerto. Loads of places to eat and drink etc. Well worth a visit.

More than just the entrance for the tree, you will see a garden with trees and view point. Lovely and worth the entrance fee.

Good garden but many sections were closed due to corona.

  • 5/5 Hwon 4 months ago on Google
Worth the extra 5 euros for the entry. Although you'd be able to view the tree for free from the terrace opposite, you will get more from the park. It offers a useful nice selfie stand. And guided app /tour. There's a cave with some history of old burial. And other information of native birds and lizards!

The old Drago tree is just impressive! You can also learn a lot about Tenerife‘s history and wild life. There is a small garden with medicinal herbs and a picknick area.

Instead of just taking photos of the Dragon Tree from outside, we went in the park, and we're glad we did! The park has a lot of other attractions, from local plants to birds and lizards, and visiting it in May was maybe the best time, since everything was in full bloom. A nice, relaxing stroll between the attractions, with the option to see short videos about every major one, via the QR codes on the flyer and on spot.

  • 5/5 Ulrich P. 2 years ago on Google
Really nice botanical garden which is definitely worth to visit. The banana trees are interesting to see at close range. Many lizards and birds live in the park and you learn a lot about them.

Really enjoyed this park has a lot to see and is great to have entry to such an old garden. The said to be 1000 year old tree is a great centre piece and makes for some great photos. Most of the garden isn’t pram friendly but we managed to cover 80% of the tracks even tho a little rough and a few steps . The 5€ entry is ok and far and you can spend as long as you like in hear . There is a few free range animals in the garden which you will see when walk the many levels.

Beautiful natural environment. The plants are exotic and have a tropical feel. The scent is also amazing. For people who enjoy being in nature, this is the perfect opportunity. Other than that, the staff is also extremely friendly and attentive. I had a beautiful experience there.

Beautiful park to walk through. It was only €5. Throughout the park you’ll find qr codes you can scan and get more information. The tree in question is one hell of a thing. Very cool! For some reason it reminded me of the weirwood trees in Game of Thrones.

  • 1/5 Daniela G. 1 year ago on Google
This is a SCAM!!! They are charging entrance to see a tree you can better see from a public park outside!!!! You have the best view of the tree from outside . I don’t understand how they can charge an entrance for this😂😂😂 huge fail, huge scam

Enjoy a relaxing walk in Icod de los Vinos. El Drago is a must while there. I wonder... How old is it? 😁 800 years? 3000 years? For sure, older than most of us.

Impressive natural monument! The location features a park which might be especially interesting for children with herbs, bananas and fruits along with a cave to discover. Clean Underground Parking facility nearby (1,80EUR p. Hour).

Strange that one tree gets the attention of everything but it really is like that. From a good view point you get amazing pictures and it was honestly a surprise for me, that I liked it that much. The area around it is also beautiful with little shops and small parks. There was also a restroom there, so a total plus for me.

  • 5/5 Stefan M. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful park with the famous Drago Milenario right at the beginning. The adjustable smartphone holder for selfies is a nice idea! The park itself is very nice, clean and offers a lot of different ways so see all the trees and other plants. Its easy to spend one hour or more there and also a good break on a hot day because theres lot of shadow. Tickets for 5€ are absolutely okay and worth their price!

  • 5/5 Brenda B. 2 years ago on Google
Interesting and old! The village has some beautiful buildings and the Dragon Tree is somewhere between 900 - 1000 years old. Worth a visit.

  • 5/5 J C. 2 years ago on Google
One of my favourite spots to visit in Tenerife! Not very busy and beautiful plants. The tree is spectacular! The price however is ok and I’m sure the cost goes into keeping the gardens well maintained You won’t spend long here but perfect for a quick stop off in Icod to see the Drago tree and the surrounding landmarks

  • 5/5 Coco S. 2 years ago on Google
    Well maintained. Loved atmosphere!

Lovely views and a 1000 year old tree that is stunning! Stopped off here as part of a trip to Mount Teide. We were guided into a Cafe Carmen for a three course set meal by our tour rep . Lovely coffee. Tip: lots of little street cafes nearby.
