Accessible to the canton fair. Very nice amenities and some staffs could somehow speak a little or understand a little english. Location is also near the river and other tourist areas. Room is very clean and spacious with a good wifi. Service is just really bad. We booked for 3 nights all with breakfast. On our first morning, the staff said we dont have free breakfast and we have to pay 90rmb. Second day, no problem, its a free breakfast. On third day, they insisted again we dont have free breakfast and we have to pay 90rmb. i went down to the reception to ask why it has to be like that. She said we don't have free breakfast and how come our friends from other room has free breakfast??? We booked the same and yet they all have free breakfast for three days! I got tired arguing because she didn't know what to answer. She keeps on saying we have to pay, we have to pay, we have to pay! Stupid! She doesn't make sense.

I really enjoyed our stay. Very nice views. Elevators are separate depending on floor, amenities are nice. Clean rooms, clean bed. We got a larger room. Upgraded but not free upgrade. Very close to the river and restaurants. One complaint: the girl checking us in was sick and kept sneezing on everything she touched them gave us the items, yuck!

Nice hotel. Super convenient with train/metro station 5 minutes away at the nearby park. Has many good eateries like dim sum restaurants at the hotel building itself. View is great too, many pretty boats sailing by the river.

Good location, horrible reception. Convenient for travelling to the Canton Fair with free shuttle & has a family mart right by the hotel lobby. BUT we almost got charged twice for our room by the slow reception staff too. Business suite was quite spacious but a bit of a drab. Lacked outlets but good thing we brought an extension cord. Restaurants in the hotel are pretty good and not too bad for the price.

I have returning to this hotel for a number of reasons: 1) Great location - next to main Metro station, adjacent to Beijing Road which is fantastic for souvenir shopping and histories of the town 2) History of the hotel - this hotel has been around for many decades. It doesn't have a glamorous appearance but definitely more trust worthy and practical than those new rises 3) In the old side of town - travel is about history and experience. This side of town has much more history to offer than the built to attract side TianHe!

Clean, spacious enough, and has a view overlooking the strait/bridge. The reception decor is a bit old school. Convenient location, walkable distance to the subway. All in all, good deal.

We stayed in the renovated rooms. (Ours was on the 28thfloor)We chose a bigger one as we wanted comfort for 7 nights. Best choice ever! One of the best hotels with a most excellent toilet that was separated into 4 sections. Bathtub. Shower. Vanity. Toilet. Definitely need to book the renovated rooms. Huge and so comfortable! Big beds, nice comfy sofa. Table was a tad small so buying dinner back might be squeezy. Location wise excellent! Beijing street can be walked to but not exactly very near. Subway is near and one of the most convenient lines (2 & 6) for tourists. Note that GZ might have convenient subway lines but they are mostly NOT that near to where you need to go.
