Although we live and work in Guangzhou, we find ourselves staying at the Garden Hotel regularly, at least 4 times a year. The Hotel is located near some excellent restaurants and bars and is close to our favorite shopping centers and markets. There are other hotels in this area, but we always return to the Garden Hotel. The rooms are clean, large, and elegant, the gardens are beautiful and well kept but the best part of staying at the Garden Hotel is the outstanding service. It was my wife’s birthday on our last visit, and we stayed 3 nights. The hotel upgraded everything for us automatically, including access to the executive lounge. The lounge had breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour. The attention to detail here was outstanding. Western or Chinese breakfast with buffet, afternoon tea had fruit and small snacks, happy hour had complementary beer and wine. Everything served with impeccable detail. Once again, the best part was the service. Ruby and Shelly made our experience perfect. They quickly learned our names, preferences for drinks and gave helpful advice about the area. Both spoke perfect English as does most of the staff at the Garden Hotel. On our last day, Ruby and Shelly gave a wonderful picture/puzzle of the Garden Hotel in a frame with a card signed by all the staff in the executive lounge, this was a wonderful surprise. If you are staying in Guangzhou, I strongly recommend the Garden Hotel. We have stayed there about 10 times and I am looking forward to our next visit.

I really like this place and I think it is one of the most fragrant and high quality hotels in Guangzhou. Unfortunately, due to Quid 19, it is not possible for a business trip to this city at the moment. However, I hope that the health of all the people of the world will improve, travel will be opened and we will be able to make the most of the beauty and quality of this hotel. This is one of the best hotels in Guangzhou.

I had an excellent experience at the Garden Hotel. The lobby and facilities are lovely. There are flowers everywhere! The staff is truly friendly and accommodating. I had a multiroom suite with great views of the city. It was also very quiet. My bath was incredible! The Toto Washlet bidet seat was an added bonus. I arrived to a tea service set up in my room that was tested the following day. Plus turn down service brought more treats (not vegan, but the thought was appreciated). There was an exercise bike and yoga mat provided in my room. It was really over the top luxurious. The executive lounge had breakfast and happy hour food. Not many vegan options, but some. I was at the hotel for a work function and the facility excelled in that area, too. Staff worked to try to address every issue. And made sure that I got a delicious vegan lunch!

The staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived. Naomi was the reception manager that was very friendly,helpful and efficient. She helped us as soon as we booked in to our room and she was there for us for our whole stay. The breakfast that the hotel provided was delicious and the outdoor area was so relaxing and enjoyable to be in that it made ou want to go back each day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated very special. The rooms, the restaurants, the staff and the convenience of public transport makes it the most wonderful hotel to stay in.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Garden. All the staff were extremely friendly and made sure our stay was stress-free and fun. They offered lots of great recommendations for nearby activities (i.e. massages, restaurants, hangouts, etc.) and was always one step ahead of us in predicting what we needed during our stay. It's incredible the amount of attention they gave us, especially given how enormous, central, and heavily populated the property is.

The lobby is fabulous but the smell of it is toooooo bad it smell of seafood mixed with perfume can you imagine that 🤮 ifelt Nausea every time passing by the Hotel lobby and the room bathroom is dirty and full of mold

It's part of the state-owned enterprises (国营企业), White Swan hotel too. Yep they ate the big fish. Don't expect service to be outrageously superb. At check-in, staff asked for an additional 500 yuan deposit and was helpful enough to reduce it. Room was clean but outdated. Got a view of the waterfall but the peeled paint on exterior wall of the building was an indicator of aging. Very impressive lobby with beautiful colorful flowers as focal point. Restaurant 荔湾亭, in decades-long tradition of setting up real wooden boats for dine-in, had great food but pricey. Check-out female staff was passive and lethargic. Service needs to kick up a notch to do better.

Listed as a 5 star hotel, but it is at best a 3 star hotel in terms of room and service. Lobby was nice and luxurious, but the rooms and furnishings were outdated. Rooms were also very humid and had a musty/moldy smell. Breakfast buffet spread was average and the restaurants were overpriced. Staff had trouble speaking English and some were downright liars. Specifically Niki Xu and Sid (manager?). They never gave me the credit I was suppose too receive for their "Green Award" program. Flat out lied to me, when they said that they will credit me, but never did. Do not recommend booking at this hotel, when there are so many better ones nearby. Disappointing!!!

Very disappointed stay of one week in December 2023. The room and the facilities are old and lack of care. The concierge service is slow and unorganized. The main entrance is a joke… Do not recommended.

This hotel is perfect. Literally paradise. You have everything in your room. Atmosphere is so cozy. All staff where very friendly and ready to help. I used to stay in this hotel for many years but not anymore. I am deeply disappointed to report a persistent smoking smell in my designated non-smoking room. Despite my specific request for a smoke-free environment due to health concerns, the odor from neighboring rooms is causing significant discomfort. The hotel tried to help me with bringing the air cleaner and opening the window which didn’t help at all.

I am happy to express my sincere gratitude for the recent upgrade you provided me after I expressed my concerns about the initial room I was assigned. I must commend Mr. Chad zhang Guest Experience Manager, and your team for your exceptional customer service and attentiveness to my needs. Very convenient location. It is a few steps to the subway station.The surrounding area is less chaotic than the most part of the city . The service is very good. Everyone is helpful and polite. The hotel is big and beautiful. The room is very comfortable. Will go back.

I had a pleasure to stay for two nights at this amazing grand hotel with a group. We all enjoyed our stay immensely and were very impressed and delighted on how well we were looked after. The staff were very helpful and the standard of the rooms exceeded all our expectations. Also the food was delicious. I would recommend this hotel especially for business travellers and people looking for high standard hotels.

An Excellent hotel which has a fabulous interior, the restaurants too are very good and so is the Breakfast buffet. The rooms however are slightly small but comfortable and manageable. On closer inspection the rooms are dated and need some amount of Maintenance. The staff is warm and friendly, Overall a wonderful place to stay.

I stayed at Garden Hotel on a business trip and being a woman traveling alone I found very kind of them to upgrade me to a nicer and more spacious room. My room was nicely decorated with all the amenities and bed very comfortable. Since my stay was only one night I didn't have the chance to try the hotel services and only had the chance to try the bar but service, atmosphere and quality were all very good. Breakfast was good and varied even though the breakfast room in certain areas it's a little dark and since table are kind of close when full can get a bit noisy. I suggest to choose a table near the window that overlooks the beautiful garden with real waterfall or, if weather permits, to have breakfast outside!
