I want to give my appreciation to Xiao J X, front concierge service guy. I arrived to Guangzhou with cash only. Upon arrival to the hotel, the taxi driver did not have the change for me. Mr Xiao was kind enough to WeChat pay for my ride till my friend arrived to pay him back. His kindness and extended himself to a guest in difficult situation is greatly appreciated.

One of the best hotels in Guangzhou, full of stunning historical design. This hotel has been recognized as most luxurious, which I do agree. It has served and hosted meeting for many world important figures, presidents, kings, prime ministers, and so on (according to their mini museum). I really liked their indoor waterfall decorations, it may appear nothing for nowadays but this hotel was built decades ago. This ho Food was delicious, very suit my taste.

This is the nicest hotel I stayed at in China. It is within walking distance to several malls, restaurants, and an outdoor market. The room was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and always available for any need. The pools were clean and not crowded. The hotel restaurant was upscale and the food was a nice mix of local favorites as well as western dishes, everything was delicious!

Great indoor design! Staff are extremely polite and friendly every guest is greeted with a big smile! The hotel is at capacity during first day of the Chinese New Year but everything seems well organised.

This is a great hotel. Their services are great and they are incredibly kids friendly. They even got my kids “the welcome kit - kids slippers, kids shampoo, etc” when they know I‘m checking in with a few kids. I was dining at the Silk Road Grill which is honestly above my expectation. The view, the food and the service were 2 thumbs up. I do recommend this place especially if you are travelling with kids.

The service was good. I had to paid upgrade to the 60m room, the initially booked 30m room would have give the hotel only a 3 star. The dim sum at the restaurant would be 7/10. The lounge drinks and price also 7/10. The area and the view is 9/10. We took the taxi in and out of the hotel.

This is very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Many rooms are facing the Pearl River (not so noisy, actually) and others are facing the city. Fairly modern rooms. My room, 1111, had a bath tub with shower. To those who are less abled, please ask for the rooms with walk-in showers. It has its own long driveway pass the old colonial buildings. Taxis are hard to come by as it is fairly secluded from the main roads.

Hotel was beautiful and the lobby was amazing, check in was easy, even at 4am. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and a big standout was the spa/gym area. Very well kept gym with all new machines and a great view, downstairs was the sauna, steam room, hot bath and ice bath. We used these facilities every day, usually twice a day and they were always very clean. There were a couple small things that let our stay down just a little bit, even though we had a non smoking room, our room stunk of smoke on arrival because you can smoke in the hallways immediately outside, we just couldn't be bothered changing rooms and kind of got used to it but maybe there should be smoking and non smoking floors to avoid this. Also the breakfast was very expensive and was a big let down with little variety and selection of food, this could definitely be improved, by comparison our next hotel had an outstanding breakfast for half the price. Lastly, when we got a taxi called to the front of the hotel the driver didn't put the meter on and said some things in Chinese which we couldn't really understand and the hotel staff didn't really make any effort to help then when we got to our location not far away we were told 80 CHD which isn't much in the bigger scheme of things but then when we got a taxi back later in the night with the meter on, it was 28 CHD so we had clearly just been played because we were picked up from a nice hotel, so be weary of this and always make sure the meter is on. Other than these few small things it was really great and would recommend.

I stayed in this wonderful hotel with its incredible views across the river in 1983. Different times then. The staff were all young, utterly charming and refused to take tips! No noise at night across the city except the hum of a thousand conversations. What a wonderful memory.

PROS: 1. Great staff overall - extremely friendly and helpful 2. Common room in basement is actually very sweet and there is a side outdoor patio as well. Really enjoyed this space since room was so damn uncomfortable. 3. Bed was totally fine. 4. Breakfast was not terrible - cereal, danish and hardboiled eggs and toast. Not enough fruit - just some old apples. 5. Good but expensive market across the street. 6. Small fridge. Complementary water and coke in each room, okay just two of each, but still, appreciate the effort. CONS: 1. NO A/C and rickety old fans in each room just don't work with the street noise in the summer. It's impossible to sleep with the windows open at the front of the hotel. 2. NO OUTLETS: or rather, very few and in terrible positions, like under the center of the bed or behind the couch. There is no easy way to charge any electronic device! REDO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM! 3. Extremely outdated and beat up decor in each room - uncomfortable seating and no coffee table, just a chipped side table being used as a coffee table. The couch was extremely uncomfortable. 4. PARKING is $58 a night. First night, we had a meter, second night, I discovered the city lot on Stockton was only $20 a night. Overall would not stay here again, sadly!

Are at the famous restaurant here. We waited 2h so better get there early. They distributed tickets and you can check the calling number on app. It was super expensive but one of best Yamaha I ever had it was so delicious!

A hotel known in Guangzhou for a lot of history not just based on its location in historical Shamian Island, but also for its establishment- there is a coffee table book about it in the hotel room by the bedside table but unfortunately it’s only in Chinese and I wish they had an English version. Beautifully updated modern interior that is spacious in its public areas. The hotel also boasts spectacular views of the river from its bars, restaurants and rooms, as well as offers retail therapy in-house, e.g. spa (quite pricey), antique shop, tea shop, clothing store, bakery (which the hotel gifts their delicious night cap cookies from), etc. It’s basement exit gives easy access to outside cafes, tea houses and nice restaurants (e.g. Japanese, seafood, yum cha restaurants) as well as local 7-11 shops, Starbucks, etc. (just a few minutes walk) as well as nearby access to the ferry- I highly recommend the ferry ride. The hotel’s excellent location allows one to enjoy Shamian’s famous grounds with its picturesque gardens and colonial architecture. Or you can take a 30 minute morning jog around or an easy casual stroll through with your camera. A 20 min walk across the river leads to the popular shopping district (e.g. Shangxiajiu pedestrian Street), small eateries, restaurants and malls- great for shopaholics. The only thing I could fault is 1. Very slow check-in and concierge luggage assistance 2. Unusually small hotel room for Chinese standards 3. The room doors are paper thin- I could hear cleaners at work in the hallway rustling bin bags and my neighbour having a very active night in their bed 😆 Special kudos to the cleaning team .. impeccable!

One of the oldest five star hotels in GZ that is celebrating 40th anniversaries. Yet a five star hotel that doesn't exactly offer five star service. If a disabled elderly man needs to enter on his own while doormen were just standing and dazing without holding the door, it's not good. The fact is service normally is very nice in tertiary industry in China, as the caste system here robs the power of the service people whom have to provide good service in order not to be complained and fired. And they have no other choice for the sake of making a living. Yet service in white swan is unhelpful and lazy. Not the service I like. There are an array of souvenir shops selling expensive Chinese traditional artworks. Art made out of a buffalo bone? You've got it.

White swan is good at its name and reputation and close to tourist place but it is also not convenient to go to other places in GZ as it doesn't not close to subway. Room is kinda small but the environment in the hotel is great and beautiful. The breakfast dim sum is good. Hotel guests can skin the line

I usually stay at the Four Seasons, so when I heard we got the White Swan for this trip, I was a bit concerned of quality as I hadn't heard about it before, but it was an amazing experience. No complaints whatsoever. One of the best hotels I've been in.

The rooms very spacious and the lobby of the hotel is an attraction by itself . I was told that this was the First 5 star Hotel in China .
