The tower was designed by Information Based Architecture and Arup. The Arup team led by structural engineer Prof. Dr. Joop Paul introduced near mass customization to the joint design, in combination with parametric design methods, and applied a simple structural concept of three elements: columns, rings and braces, to this more complex geometry.

Spectacular view from one of the tallest towers in the world. It's a must visit when in Guangzhou. Best not to go on a public holiday when the queues are really long.

Go early. Buy tickets online or at the kiosk. You can also buy tickets at the counter but line can get long. I didn't have any language issues. Great view of Guangzhou. I went early to avoid the rush. Night time is also beautiful but will be very crowded. Day time will be hot and humid. Take the stairs to few floors below to check out other areas like machinery, hydraulics, bidirectional sliding bearings, dampers etc. There is also a Mediterranean buffet couple floors below but I couldn't figure out how to get to it as the stairway was blocked and elevators didn't seem to have an option. Maybe the inside elevator would get you to the restaurant floor. Lots of shopping options on the ground floor (gifts, coffee, food)

You get a panoramic view of the city from here. If you time it right, you can see the city lights up at dusk. We only visited the 108 FLR observation deck. You can visit the outdoor observation deck too.

Canton tower is one of the place i wanted to check out since GZ hosted the olympics. I finally got to do it and i didn't get disappointed. I went to the top and rode the bubble pods. The view wasn't perfect but i don't know that it ever get perfect here in GZ. The view was great and even awesome i would say. .. if you don't mind the heights you should definitely go to the top. As a foreigner, you do need to present your passport and only cash will be accepted.. also you have the option of trying the 455m drop ride if that is your kind of thrill..

Super Nice to go for a walk here on the wharf and maybe also to go up in the Canton Tower. The restaurants are closing at 2130 in the tower and 2200 in the malls so be aware of that.
