I called this place to make sure my family members would be able to check in with no issues. As a diamond member I’ve never had issues like this. I booked the reservation and added the person that would be checking in. Not thinking that I needed to put the number of people in the room because I purchased the type of room I needed that accommodated 3 guest. My mother in law and brothers in law were picking up my daughters from the airport the following morning so I had my in laws check in. When they got there to check in the front desk wanted to charge us 35 per person. I specifically paid 15k points that accommodated 4 and it was only 3 guest. It didn’t matter whether it was 2 or 3 on the reservation the points were the same. But there they wanted to charge 35 per person. Then as diamonds we normally get something like breakfast. Well the front desk made sure they told my 76 year old mother in law, no breakfast is allowed for them. I am extremely upset with how they were treated. I don’t care if we purchased the breakfast the fact that they immediately said to them and no breakfast for you all made it seem Like they were allowed to dine. Never using this place ever again.

Not one issue during my one night stay. I just completed a country tour from El Paredon to Livingston with Omnium_travel_guatemala (IG/Google Maps) and this was my final stop/stay before my tour and airport drop off. The room was phenomenal except the window was cracked a little bit and you could hear loud rushes of the wind at times. It was a small issue for a stay less than 12 hours and no bugs entered. The hotel is in a small business district and attached to what seems to be a little mall area too. Check-in was simple. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of space to move about. There were no issues with the shower. As someone who doesn’t eat meat there were plenty of options available for the breakfast. And the coffee was decent. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation if I needed to but Guatemala City lacks much of anything worth enjoying for me with the colder weather/wind and traffic that I would skip it for Livingston, El Paredon, or Antigua. I hope you find this review helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you.

The staff was friendly, but they did loose an order of Pollo Campero once. The hotel was a bit small but the rooms were comfortable. The A/c was also very comfortable and the bed pillows delivered a great night of sleep. The amenities were limited though there was a gym. Also disappointed there was no microwave in my room but I found one in a storage closet and dragged it to my room.

Second stay in two months. Excellent check in experience. Room was ready for my early arrival. They gave me an upgrade to a higher floor with a nice view of the city for being a diamond Hilton honors member. They really seem to appreciate their diamond members. Breakfast buffet benefit was appreciated and very good. Excellent service in the restaurant as well. The neighborhood seems very safe and walkable to markets restaurants. Make sure to visit the nearby Plaza España.

This is a nice hotel in the city, well situated and just walking distance from the US Embassy on 7 Avenida. The parking is free, underground, convenient and secure. Though I was not here for a conference or convention there is some exhibition meeting rooms in the lower level of the hotel. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and did recognize my diamond status upon arrival. The hotel has a small but nicely arranged and welcoming bar, and restaurant. The food, especially the soups and salads are very good and the restaurant staff is friendly and helpful. The tortilla soup was awesome. The rooms are very nice, very modern and appear recently renovated. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable as expected for a Hilton standard . Room service was convenient, and food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. The bar makes an excellent margarita. As I have been recovering from personal illness on this stay I found the hotel a good place to rest and relaxation. One note, the hotel is right in the flight path to the Guatemala City airport, so you can hear jumbo jets flying overhead at times.

Parking space definitely needs to be bigger! I had AC issues in the room I was checked in. The receptionist said that due to my late checking (11pm) there was no maintenance guy; I had to request to be transferred to other room.

I've stayed here several times. Excellent service. The staff is very attentive, and the rooms are clean and updated to industry standards. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. Uber is about $5. One way. Excellent location if you're going to stay in the city. Safe location. Breakfast is delicious, and the bar has great deals. Overall, it was a great stay, and the staff made me feel at home.

EDIT:: Originally I gave this hotel a good review. However, Sylvia happened to not do what she guaranteed me would be done. So let me start with the issues. When we checked in the man downgraded our hotel room. The hotel room was dirty and the hotel was sold out both nights we were there. The staff does not speak fluent English. Here's an example: I asked for a fork and the man got on the computer!!! The next day we asked to speak with someone of fluent English. Sylvia then gave us the room that we originally paid for and said our money/points for the 1st night would be refunded... SHE LIED. 20 DAYS LATER STILL NOT RETURNED. AND HOTEL SAYS THEY DON'T REMEMBER IF THEY SAID THAT!! The next morning we ask for the room that we had originally paid for and they gave us the room that we paid for we just went up one floor same exact room. Upon leaving the hotel to go to the airport Sylvia told my mother and I that it would be refunded and we should see it back in a few days. HOWEVER SYLVIA LIED! We've now had to call about the issue. When corporate called about the issue the person who answered the phone could not speak fluent English. Only stay at this hotel if you book the cheapest room and you speak fluent Spanish. They also told us that we didn't have free breakfast the next morning when we did & then we had to prove it on a reservation. If you have an issue at this hotel I suggest you record the conversation. You will need it when it comes time after leaving to deal with the issue.

Will definitely use again! A big plus was the shower pressure, breakfast & cleanliness. Took off one star due to the mini fridge not working. Staff only offered an apology but didn’t fix.

Combines excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location. Friendly staff, well appointed rooms, delicious dining options and thoughtful amenities make Hilton Garden Inn Guatemala City a five star stay.

Small Hilton garden chain. It has air conditioners, and the rooms were small but nice. The front desk was very helpful. You could change money at the front desk. It has a little convenience store located at the front and a restaurant inside.

I went to the hotel restaurant for my anniversary, and the food was delicious and the service excellent. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it. 👌 The only problem is the traffic because on Sundays they close streets nearby the hotel. But otherwise everything was great

A nice Hilton and in Guate City. The food was really good. All three meals, breakfast lunch and dinner can be Buffet style. I’m not sure why the lunch was more expensive than the dinner. If you need to stay close to the airport, it’s a good location. It’s also a great location to East to get on the Pan-American Highway yesterday the mail.

Nice hotel. My room was maybe a little cramped, but comfortable and clean. Friendly staff and I would have given much higher score overall, but unfortunately it is not how you start but how you finish. More than a month now since I have checked out and I still have the service charge hold on my credit card. The final charge, including extras have been taken of my card as well. It seems like it is impossible to have the hold removed, despite numerous emails and requesting a letter from the hotel, giving my bank permission to remove it from my side, more than once. However, once the case was escalated to the Credit manager it was resolved within four days - Thank you! hence the upward adjustment on my rating.

I was able to check in to my room quite early, which was a fantastic benefit. The restaurant and bar credit provided by the property for Hilton Honors members (of any tier) was greatly appreciated and a nice welcoming touch. Breakfast was included due to my tier of HH, and an ample selection of hot and cold foods both American and Latin were available. I was also very pleased with the level of service I received from every employee in the building. Even in passing they all smiled and made eye contact. Those that I spoke to were extremely kind and helpful. This is one of the best Hilton stays I’ve had outside of the US.

I spent the night at the hotel as a stopover on the way to see the rest of Guatemala. After reading so many posts about the dangers of Guatemala City, I chose the Hilton as a comfortable place to acclimate. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Most were bilingual so my limites Spanish wasn’t an issue. The entire hotel was very clean, including the elevators and halls. The hotel is an event venue and there were several parties while I was there. There was no noise or loud music from the parties. The area around the hotel offers restaurants, a shopping mall and various small shops. I felt very comfortable walking around alone during the day. There was some loud music from nearby restaurants and noise from airplanes. There was easy access to UBER or taxis to see the sights. It was a good place to start a trip.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The cleanliness of the accommodations was noteworthy, and the room exceeded expectations in terms of size, featuring a generous workspace equipped with a proper desk. The inclusion of a coffee machine in the room added a thoughtful touch, and the quality of the coffee provided was particularly enjoyable. One of the highlights for me was the convenient location, situated approximately 15 minutes by car from the airport and within a mere 5-minute walking distance from the iconic Obelisco. This strategic positioning made commuting hassle-free and allowed for easy exploration of nearby attractions. The hotel's commitment to providing a conducive environment for work was evident in the well-designed chair and desk setup in the room. It's always a relief to find a comfortable and functional workspace while traveling. The culinary offerings at the hotel further contributed to the positive experience. The breakfast spread was delightful, offering a variety of options to suit different preferences. Additionally, the on-site restaurant proved to be a satisfying choice for dinners, showcasing a menu that pleased both the palate and the overall dining experience. Given the pleasant stay, including the amenities, location, and dining options, I am inclined to return for future visits. This hotel managed to strike a balance between comfort, convenience, and culinary satisfaction, making it a standout choice in my travels.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFUL HOTEL. YOU ARE TREATED LIKE ROYAL AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE. THE ROOMS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN AND THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL. I SPENT EIGHT DAYS THERE AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

On our trip to Guatemala, we encountered the nicest people EVERYWHERE, except when we checked in here. Not that they were rude, just not friendly. The process was smooth though. Up in the room, the sanitation was questionable: we found a straw from a previous guest. The beds were comfortable, the pillows a little deflated for my taste, but we were able to pile a couple on top of one another. The shower in the bathroom was nice and comfortable, though the light in the mirror flickered on and off. Also, there were only two towels for a reservation of 4 people. It's close to the airport, which is a plus, but they don't have a shuttle. Uber works well though!

I contracted food poisoning from the breakfast buffet here on Feb. 25, 2023. To add insult to injury, their customer service response to my illness was terrible. I requested drinking water to be sent to my room and, when it never arrived, I had to go down to the front desk for it. Twice. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that it was not possible to do so. The Hilton Garden Inn in Guatemala City is a poor excuse for a Hilton Hotel!

Stayed twice so far. The first room smelled bad. They were able to move us to a different room the next day. I would not buy breakfast if it is not included in your room.

  • 4/5 Julia M. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was nice like Hilton's are. They were deceptive. They say rides to the airport are available, That means they will call you a cab you have to pay for. I think this is a manipulation to try to get business people there.

The Hilton Garden Inn Guatemala City was the best among the same brand hotels in the US and the other countries I had ever stayed in. The service was excellent, and the staff was professional with a friendly smile. I had an enjoyable stay there.

I loved staying two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Guatemala City. As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted by welcoming and charismatic staff. This luxury hotel is located in a fabulous downtown area, that's safe, close to several attractions, restaurants and the airport. My room had a comfortable ambiance, the bed was large and relaxing, and I was really satisfied with the elegant green marble bathroom. This Hilton has lots of amenities, including a reasonably priced restaurant, free parking, WiFi, and a fitness center. Hilton also has an amazing points program and as a diamond member I used my Hilton Honors to stay here for two free nights. I highly recommend staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Guatemala City during your visit. I guarantee you will have a good time and leave feeling well rested.

Lots of choices in this area. This checked the list due to points and free night. Walkable area and I felt safe strolling around by myself. The beds and pillows were great in King room on 4th floor. I liked the card access to the floors. The buffet breakfast was average and under $18pp with coffee and juices. The green marble bathrooms were elegant and very upscale for a garden inn. Clean and maintained.

Paid breakfast? Really. That was a red flag and big turn off for me. I wouldn't recommend it honestly. I mean, it's expensive so you'd expect better but it was below average experience.

Its a very nice place. The property by itself it's beautiful and provides you a good and positice vibe. Parking is not comfortable but convenient. The only issue we had it was the mini fridge that never worked at all. But the customer service and quality of amanities it was great. Good experience, we can"t complain

I can't say I've ever been made to feel embarrassed for staying at a Hilton family hotel before this. We had elected and paid for a room which included breakfast and the older woman at the entry had asked us our room number no less than 3 times throughout the meal. When we finished and got up to leave, she came running after us like bandits saying we needed to pay, that it was not included. So she took our room number a 4th time and that seemed to settle it. We spent the morning working quietly at a small table in the back corner and when I brought in outside lunch, I went to the front desk to ask where we could eat and work. The receptionist said we could eat "al fondo" of the restaurant, which is where we were anyway. When I went to enter, the older woman again blocked my path and informed me that if we wanted to eat outside food at one of the tables we would have to pay a fee. It was all rather embarrassing and happened in front of other guests, making the public spaces very uncomfortable for us to work in. It would also be nice to give more than one room key when there are two people staying in a room. Also, do not pay cash as the exchange rate the hotel charges is ridiculous and earns them .30 on the dollar! The cleaning staff were lovely and the beds were comfortable. The wifi was strong and the rooms were quiet and clean. All in all a reasonable stay, though well below the Hilton standards I had come to anticipate.
