At this venue, a dance troupe portrays the story of a young couple going through certain stages in life such as the courtship and marriage ceremony. There is also a nice reference to the Mayan culture. I enjoyed watching the dance, but I was longing for live instruments versus the recording we heard. At times, some of the theatrics became a little cringy, but it was all in celebration of the Guatemalan culture, which made it bearable. The announcer was stumbling through a script and reminded me of a soccer commentator. Fortunately, the traditional food was excellent and after the show, the dance floor opens with plenty of loud modern music pumping. This is a great place to come with a group for a bit of cheesy fun.

Very elegant restaurant, the food is mainly traditional, but there are other plates such as burgers, pepian and ka'ki are 2 great options. Prices as you might guess being in Paseo Cayala, little bit expensive. Wide variety of wines also. There is a 'terrace' which is very nice. Very recommended.

Not to bad a place. I really enjoyed the food. The staff are really helpful. The menu was mostly English or at least the descriptions were. I sold reccomend this place for a nice lunch.

I will never come back. Incredibly slow service. I ordered the tasting plate of typical dishes, the tocon was good, the pepian was tasteless (it lacked a lot of salt) and the subanik was quite mediocre. My wife ordered shredded and tough meat and also no salt. We wanted a dessert and they only had two options, I asked for coffee and they didn't have... anyway. We went to introduce some foreigners to typical food and for what they were served they probably thought that Guatemalan food is terrible. I hope they change their chef.

Ok food, but nothing spectacular about it. Meat was really tender, but the rest of the plate was kind of boring. The mini chile rellenos were really good, but the chuchito on the same platter was extremely dry and fell apart (on both plates that we ordered).

(+) The pepian was great and we enjoyed about half of the items in the Sampler de Sabores Guatemaltecos. (?) Prices were fairly high, but pretty average for the area (-) We didn't enjoy the Salpicon. We just didn't like the meat in it. (-) They were quite pushy about ordering drinks, appetizers, desserts while we were just trying to look at the menu. We had to say three times "Can we just have a minute to look at the menu?" (-) The waiter put a 10% tip on our card without asking us, using the card machine. We thought this could be a service charge, but it wasn't on our bill... so a bit sketchy at minimum.

The food was bland, we had to add salt to most of the dishes. Service was great. It's extremely overpriced for what we were served. I expected something scrumptious and it was just OK.

This restaurant is located in Cayala. We were seated in the courtyard with an amazing view. Upon arrival I ordered a Quetzalteca (tamarindo). The cocktail was ok, nothing spectacular. I then ordered a pina colada again It fell flat. We had the Guatemalan sampler and for my main course I ordered the Lomito espectacular and my friend ordered a Pechuga de Apollo. Initially we needed some alternatives since we had a few restrictions. Sylvia was kind enough to make the requests for us and to our surprise Renato (chef) came to our table to provide us with options. The food was authentic and flavorful. What could have been a bad experience was turned into a positive one. The house even gave us arroz con leche which was exquisite. Thank you 🙏 we will be back.

😐 The food is good, but the service should improve, the staff doesn't like to assist, you need to call the waiters several times.
