Closed for renovations until 16 September 2019. I messaged them on Facebook and they advised they are closed for renovations until mid September .5 stars as they replied on a Saturday evening!

This museum has been around for a while, not quite sure but it was either shut down for remodeling before or during covid 19. Once restrictions were lifted it took a bit to reopen but it was so worth it! What was a dull museum with interesting artifacts is now a glorious hands on, interactive showcase that tells a story. The staff is outrageously experienced and probably 100% new to the job. The manager that was working prior to covid was terrible. If she is still there maybe she went on to refresher courses... Anyway the place is AWESOME, great for all ages. A good first museum for elementary school children. Keep up the good work Miraflores.

Nice attraction to take kids and see a muesium type environment. Inside the mall. Not that big fyi and not to expensive like Q20 per person

The museum is really nice, lots of objects well described, the display is clean and well illuminated, good information around everything you see. There are some interactive areas for further description/visibility and make it a great experience.

This museo closed indefinitely. They tore down old building and just starting construction on new one. Supposedly there is a small display inside the adjacent mall ...:-(

Good museum at a convenient location. It's all bilingual (Spanish/English), which is helpful for some. Lots of interactive components, making it engaging and fun. A good place for families or kids. It's not quite as large as they make it out to be. "Four levels" is mostly just two levels.

Interesting location for a museum....within a mall. Definitely provides for sightseeing, shopping and eateries. Local finds displayed and definitely well worth the visit.

A mall full of interesting experiences for children and a couple of the most expensive and exclusive fashion shops including clothes, shoes, fragance shops and also a bunch of restaurants feom the cheaper ones to the most expensive in the country. You can also enjoy bowling experience into the 18-90 bowling at the third floor of the mall, visit the museum and a park for children to play outdoors.

Highly recommend as a family activity or date with your love one. Had a lot of fun with the interactive activities throughout the museum and all the interesting facts! The building is clean and modern, and it connects with the exterior gardens. Don’t miss visiting this gem when you visit Guatemala City!

It's kinda dark and there is mixed information about expositions. It also has a dance gym on the inside, dunno why would you put a gym inside a museum though.

Definitely worth a visit if you are around. I missed that some of the pieces were placed in such a way that it was cumbersome to find tje explanation.

Nice for a quick look around, it's small but interactive to keep young visitors entertained.

  • 4/5 Dalia A. 1 year ago on Google
Very open, respectful although is more kids oriented due the audiovisuals and interactive spaces. A tour guide for tourists over the weekends would be helpful as there’s missing information in the area about the history. Would recommend going with the whole family

Take the lift up to the top floor, and do the trip going down. All information is in both Spanish and English. Guided tours available as well.

This place is attached to the huge modern and popular Miraflores Mall, which is unusually convenient for an archeology museum. You can learn about the old city, then use the ticket to get food discounts at the mall.

Definitely worth the trip. Make sure you hit all the parts of it, like the downstairs part connected to the mall. Climbing the mound in the courtyard gives an idea of what it was like to summit a Mayan temple--they were talking.

I visited here with my family and this museum is a good place to learn a bit about Guatemalan history. If you are interested in archeology and Mayan history, you should also visit Kaminal Juyú in zone 7.

Very good collection, kind of small. It's currently closed for renovation, opening sometime next year.

The museum is closed as of April 13 because of COVID. The website doesn’t show it as closed which is all the more annoying because I wasted money on an Uber to get there.
