Ya know, I didn’t come to Guatemala to visit the train museum, but I found myself on Friday at 2pm thinking: I don’t want to start drinking but I want to do something, so I ended up here. It’s actually super well done and entrance comes with a free super-knowledgeable guide. 15Q for nationals and 30Q for extranjeros. With the tour and a little wandering of the museum we spent 1.5 hours here. Definitely recommend.

The Railway Museum of Guatemala offers a delightful experience for both train enthusiasts and curious visitors. With a diverse range of exhibits, including the opportunity to explore old trains, view captivating pictures, and examine antique items from train history, it provides an immersive journey into the world of railways. The museum excels in accessibility and inclusivity by presenting information in both languages English and Spanish, catering to a broader audience. The friendly and knowledgeable staff enhance the overall experience, and the well-maintained facilities, including restrooms, add to the visitor's comfort. Personally, it stands out as a favorite museum in Guatemala, offering the rare opportunity to climb aboard historic trains. Whether you're a train enthusiast or simply curious, the Railway Museum promises a fascinating journey with a plethora of pictures and memorabilia to explore. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed this museum! Walking through the many old trains and then a few more modern ones. They have so many objects and old signs, too. Real cool! I paid Q30 as a foreigner

First of I want to thank our tour guide Julien, he was very knowledgeable and took time to answer many questions that we had. We spend at least 2 hours here and were very engage. The railroad history of Guatemala is fascinating. Also great pictures to take .staff is great and entrance is affordable. Even if you dont speak spanish, definately check this gem out.

Interesting place to spend a few hours. We paid Q15/person. Only confusing part was figuring out the exit since we didn't stick with the tour.

I was not bad, but you will get bored very easily, plus there seems to be an unspoken rule about not been able to take pictures to the wagons with a camera unless you pay $200 Quetzales, just your cell phone. I understand that in most Museums you have to pay to take pictures but they tell you in advance. The people there are rude and not pleasant. I do not recommend to visit more than once and 1-hour max.

Waited like 15 minutes to enter although it was only a couple ahead of us. Place is dirty it seems they don’t have the funds or the staff to clean the space. Bathrooms are somehow clean. Didn’t stayed longer than 30 minutes as there’s no tour guides and some wagons can be visited only with tour guides

(Translated by Google) I could finally come to the Museum of the Railroad Guatemala. It is nostalgic to enter in my childhood I had the opportunity to climb a couple of times, not knowing it would become only history, stories and legends. I hope one day we can have again railroad in Guatemala, is beautiful to ride the more so considering the beautiful landscapes of this beautiful country. Highly recommended Railroad Museum because if you come from a country with active train, still, it's a beautiful passage through time and evolution of this incredible means of transportation.

(Translated by Google) We arrived for work. The first day there was no water spent the night of the second. The room was full of mosquitoes and when calling the contact telephone no one answers why they believe? There is no reception or anyone present at the hotel at night. The day of my departure I left after the check out time and over the whole story they charged me 50% of an additional night. I definitely do not recommend it or go back again. No hay recepción ni nadie presente en el hotel por la noche. El día de mi partida salí después de la hora del Check out y encima de toda la historia me cobraron 50% de una noche adicional. Definitivamente no lo recomiendo ni regresaré nunca más.

(Translated by Google) The place is very beautiful, but I had a bad experience. I was going with my partner to take photos with an analog camera, they told me that I could not take photos, unless I had a Q200 permit. My camera was not professional, I only used it to take practice photos, in the end they didn't charge me; but I don't know if it was because I was with the camera or if it was because I was going with my partner, that in each car or corridor that passed they kept watching me, we really felt harassed and uncomfortable and decided to retire. We are adults and we know how to behave, instead of offering a guided tour, they kept observing (in a bad way).

Nice little museum - worth the Q2 entrance fee just to see the military relief map of Guatemala just inside the hall to understand how the lowlands and mountains contrast.

Our first day in Guatemala City was a Sunday and not too much is open, so decided to go check out the train museum. It was incredible to walk on the trains and experience the history. You can also actually use the old telephones on the walk way and talk to the wfh other, simulating how folks used to phone each other in the old times. If you have an hour or so to kill, definitely a good time

(Translated by Google) It is a beautiful place because of its geographical location within a natural forest, its pools that form from a natural source of water make it unique. Here you can really de-stress by enjoying each of the details of the place such as its zoo, its horses for equine therapy, its restaurant, and the green fields for any type of physical activity. It is worth returning to enjoy its facilities. Greetings and keep reaping success. Vale la pena regresar a disfrutar de sus instalaciones. Saludos y q sigan cosechando exitos.

First there is no place to buy ticket online also Google said it was open on a Sunday till 4pm. We got there around 2:15pm and the man at the gate said it was closed and they would be open on Tuesday. My advise is to update the hours. The 1star is for the lack of accurate information on the www

First thank you to all the employees for making me feel safe and welcome. As a tourists they we're nice enough to translate and give me a great tour through the history of the railway in Guatemala but also some Guatemalan history. I still can't believe it was only 25yrs since the trains stopped running. This was a great place to visit and learn. A must see for any train lover.

When the railway system in Guatemala was abandoned, the central station and some railway vehicles were more or less left there to return to the soil. The fun part: You can climb around on and in almost all of the cars and locomotives, open any lid and look what is behind it. When you are a railway enthusiast and love rusty metal, this is the place for you!
