Very nice museum, the entrance is as cheap as a convenience store candy. A lot of work from Carlos Mérida and it has different exhibits from time to time. Also the parking is free and inside the place it has another 2 museums and a walk area with different art pieces. Pretty and really worth the visit. Only bad thing is the open hours. They open from 9 a.m. to 12 and then close the museum at lunch and after that is open again from 2 p.m. thru 4 p.m. So if you want to enjoy your visit plan the schedule ahead because they close early.

The museum has been closed for a while. Guard at the gate explained the gov't isn't paying for maintenance and haven't updated the website. Such a shame. I hope they can open it up to the public again in the future

This is the main Modern Art Museum in Guatemala City. It is hard to get to by foot so you will need to take a taxi or drive there. It has very relevant art created by Guatemalan artists. It needs to be much better cared for but it is a very important stop if you are in Guatemala.

Great 1 floor museum. Great art selection that gives you a taste of Guatemala's modern art history. Only thing is all the labels are in Spanish, so if you don't speak it, you may find yourself a bit lost!

Very enjoyable exhibits. Quite an extensive collection. Most from the 1960's(ish), so calling it contemporary is a stretch, but the art definitely rivals modern art from other countries.

I really wanted to give this museum 5 stars but the reason I am only giving 3 is because of some of the art they had at this museum. Two or more of the art pieces at this museum had naked children in their pieces and it was just uncomfortable to look at. In my opinion this is very distasteful and inappropriate.

Excellent collection of Guatemalan modern art in a unique architecture building! I personally enjoy modern art pieces very much so this was a very nice pit stop.

No too much to see. It needs a renovation and good care.
