Nice little spot. Pretty much close to everything you need & in a neighborhood that feels safe as. The staff were friendly & helpful. The showers super hot which was a life saver as the city is bloody freezing(coming from a warm blooded beach bum) I stayed in a single room, comfy as bed, nothing fancy, but did the job & cheap. The breakfast was bang on, pancakes, fruit & coffee. All in all sweet little spot to set up while you check out the city

Best Place I've been to in a looooong time. They really Go Out of their way to take Care of you. My reservation got cancelled due to problems with my Credit card, not only did the staff walk with me to 3 different places in the area (because they were full) but he invited me to breakfast, to charge my Phone, he printed out Tickets for me etc. They even showed me where/how to buy the best/cheapest Sim Card for my Phone and acompanied me there. When I got Back there after about 6 weeks, they basically did the same thing and more, all the while not earning a single dime, or asking anything off me. Great Humanity. Saludos Christian, muchas Gracias para todo, y hasta la proxima vez

By far worst place I've stayed at. Got the private w/ bathroom ensuite. THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. It starts by them charging Q15 just for credit cards. Breakfast is from 8-9am. And it is not considered food, then a joke :) -room smells bad, molds everywhere. (I've read that on some reviews before but apparently they did not care to fix). -Shower is bad and it clogs. They provide a soap that looks like detergent. - Door beel is another joke. It is a loud bell everytime someone arrives during the night. Why not give them a spare key? There is nothing close to the place, you have to uber everywhere. Sry but does not worth it even for one night. There is nothing close to the place, you have to uber everywhere. My wife and I spent five nights here and enjoyed our stay. The staff is very helpful and informative. They were able to arrange tours for us on short notice. For us it was centrally located and we're to access transit and enjoy nice restaurants. We recommend this place and are planning to return.

Clean rooms, nice decor, full kitchen. I stayed in a private room with an ensuite. The only criticism is the shower water didn't get hot, just luke warm.

Hostel located in a great part of Guatemala City. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Lots of modern buildings surround the hostel, and the area felt extremely safe to walk around at night and during the day. Also it’s just a short walk to the immigration office if you need to renew or extend your visa.

Good for one night. The staff were super friendly and the pancakes for breakfast were super delicious! Best pancakes I’ve had in ages! The room smelt slightly of damp but was fine - nice coffee shop next door I would recommend also called Manolos? ☺️

This is a great place if you need to use it as your centre of operations to jumpstart your adventures or if you need to come back and recharge and carry on with your next trips. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. They can help you to book trips as well. It’s located in the middle of 4 grados Norte so there are many restaurants and places to have a drink, a supermarket where you can purchase stuff at good prices. Overall, we had a great experience and Christian is a great asset for Tequila Sunrise. Thank you for everything. Christian and Magdalena.

These bad reviews are pretty silly. This is a decent hostel with high quality amenities. Hot showers with good locking doors, free towels, free breakfast, etc. Excellent location in the city with a friendly staff. It is not the hostels fault if you couldn’t be bothered to read literally any packing list for traveling Central America which all suggest bringing ear plugs. This isn’t a hotel. If you book a hostel expecting a hotel you’ll be disappointed. Tourists these days are ridiculous! Only complaint, this isn’t the most social hostel. A card table, a foosball or pool table, and maybe some board games like Jenga would go a long way to improving this. I’ll definitely return in the future.

World backpacker, clocked over 400+ hostels, making the most of each moment, in good or bad times. Hostel has adequate space, plenty of natural light, fresh air, and most of all, clean. Hardworking, friendly, and engaging staff and crew, always there to answer any questions. Delicious breakfast, great location, walking distance to the largest outdoor fresh produce market, La Terminal. Rooftop terrace sunrise views, and most of all, clean. Work in progress, so do return for more goodies. Good luck.

I stayed here for one night, and Christian (hostel owner) went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Towels included, extra blankets upon asking, and a delicious free breakfast. He also very generously let me leave my bag at the hostel for three nights while I had to make and emergency trip back to the UK for three days. He also booked me a taxi when I got back. He’s a lovely man, it’s a lovely hostel, and I would never stay anywhere else in Guatemala City!

Didn’t enjoy this hostel at all. We had mold in our room and the air was very humid. When we asked the clerk if we could change the room, he told us that all rooms are moldy and humid. And that was indeed the case! We checked 4 other rooms and all had mold in them and a humid smell! It doesn’t seem like they are doing any effort to fix this as I encountered some older reviews, stating the same issue. Didn’t encounter any efforts of them fixing this! Also, the window of our room was next to the dorm toilets (not a bathroom, single toilet cabins outside), so whenever someone went to the toilet to do her/his business, we could hear it… The breakfast is very lifeless and doesn’t come near to what you can see on the pics. We only got some mediocre pancakes, fruit and a maple flavored sugar sirup…The only positive thing about this hostel is its location in Guates very hip and modern zone 4. Other than that, I didn’t like this place at all. Wouldn’t recommend staying there.

It's a great hostel with many different style rooms, from sleeping cubes to double bed rooms. All the common areas are cleaned daily. It's a 15 min walk to the city center, and there are many restaurants very close. I highly recommend Tequila Sunrise Hostal on your visit to Guatemala City.

It's a transit hostel. Great location and does the basics well. Clean beds (pod style) warm showers. Helpful staff (printed off travel documents for me). Decent pancake breakfast with coffee. It's not a luxury hostel or a social hostel. It's a place to spend a day or two while in transit and it does that well.

Christian and the rest of the staff recommended so many yummy places to eat (ask about mr.taco) and so many cool things to do. I wasn’t sure where to go so Christian gave me a map and a pamphlet with the must see hot spots. We were only able to go to 2 spots but they were amazing. The location was fantastic and the atmosphere was amiable. We met many good friends here that we will cherish forever.

This was seriously the best hostel I've been to in the entire central American area. Free delicious and sufficient amount breakfast. Everything is clean without insects. The capsules are amazing and so comfy and cozy. Hot water is there for showering and stuff as well. Save location and the owner is an amazing friendly and cool guy. If you go to guate. This is the place to stay at

Very accommodating and friendly staff, great location, and nice amenities. I’ve stayed here a couple times in both private room and dorm, and it’s always a great experience. Until next time, thanks again!

They messed up my reservation so it was not booked for tonight. I trekked all the way there for no reason. Attempted no remedies when they did have availability just not in the dorms and left to walk the streets to find another hostel with no more than a 🤷‍♀️. Would not recommend this hostel. Edit: they never disclosed any of the details they have included in their response or I would have done this. They only asked for my email and name to confirm, which I provided. Poor service.

The people at the reception are very polite and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. They arranged our shuttle to Antigua very easily and we even got a cookie as a goodbye gift ! I recommend 100%

I really liked the place. I can only recommend the stay. The hostel is centrally located in a very nice area. The rooms are new and clean. Every day there are pancakes that taste incredibly good. (they are included in the price). The service in general is very good. Julien is always there for you and will help you! In general, however, it would be helpful if there was another way to enter the hostel. At the moment you have to ring the bell and wait to be opened. At night it means you have to wake up one of the staff to get back to the hostel. There are definitely better solutions, such as using a pin. :)

Great location to get to the airport. The pods on the dorm are very comfortable and it's possible to get ready in the middle of the night without disturbing everyone else in the room

I stayed in Tequila Sunrise my 1st night of a week traveling across Guatemala. It was in an excellent location which is unique and safe (Zona 4). We were out at 10pm walking around and felt completely safe. It’s about a 45 minute walk from the Mercado Central which was amazing and I totally recommend. Overall a great hostel!

Great time at Tequila Sunrise. It turns out I've stayed at the sister hostel over in Sunshine Coast Australia! Everything clean, friendly and the brekkie is extra generous and extra good! Highly recommend:)

Rooms were nice and clean. Curtain and plug socket beside bed. Great location in the city, felt very safe in the area and not far from airport. Staff were really kind and helpful. Lovely pancakes in the morning. Can’t fault it.

Great place and the staff is very accommodating. They have the capsules and private rooms. Highly recommend it because it had a modern section to one side and a pretty cool, interesting dining strip on the other side (not modern but rather hip).

I go frequently to Guatemala City and I like staying at Tequila Sunrise. I've stayed in dorms and private rooms. I think the price it's good and you even get breakfast with your package.

Really cute hostel in the center of Ciudad de Guatemala. Stuff is super friendly and helpful! I could even leave by part of my stuff in the lockers of the room while I was in Antigua. The beds are super comfortable and offer a lot of privatesphere.

I slept in the dorm with 14 people, but you have your own 'box', so it feels a bit like you are alone. The staff was so friendly! They helped me with the transport to my next destination and were very helpfull.

This hostel has a super great location in the center of the safe 4th district. Furthermore is the kitchen well equipped, showers are nice and you’ll have the feeling to have enough space especially on the scenic rooftop. The receptionist Christian is doing great work to make your stay as comfortable as possible, but even more he is always ready to help you out with questions or tricky situations. Stay great Christian!!

I really enjoyed my stay at Tequila Sunrise, It was in the perfect location for my last few days in Guatemala. It is a walkable distance to plenty of trendy restaurants and cafes. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I really appreciated them helping me print out documents that I needed for my return flight. The pod style bunk beds were comfortable, and hot showers!

I was on my first solo trip and stayed here for one night. Daniel assisted me in everything I needed to know. He went the extra mile to make me feel welcome in Guatemala City. I’m definitely coming back to this hostel in the near future.

Great hostel! Met some really amazing people here! Incredible price + amazing breakfast + great location! Also, make sure to check out the bar next door (TINTIKOS), great vibes all around!

I enjoyed my stay here. Pro: Met my last minute request, and offered great service. I made a last minute booking after my a early morning flight was cancelled. Instead of telling me to wait 5 hours for checking, Alejandro at the front desk, honored my booking, gave me change for a taxi and all before breakfast was finished being served. Cons: Noise, but I think it’s because I was the closest room to the entrance. Also, there were no eggs at breakfast

Good location, decent facilities, but not social at all. A very loud bell rings right next to the dorm when people enter, and it will wake you all night if you are a light sleeper. Mattress was super worn out. Staff is really nice but the hostel has no vibe at all - feels like a motel.

In a really cute neighbourhood near lots of bars and places to eat. Was a perfect place to explore the city for the short time we were here. The staff were super friendly and helped us with stuff we needed to print. Really clean as well.

  • 3/5 Daniel R. 1 year ago on Google
the staff were very chill and helpful! They allowed us to store our luggage while we explored Central Market, Eat some good food and explore the city for a little while (a few hours). the location was VERY hard to find at night (flight got in at 10PM), but the breakfast was nice and it's great if you love that backpackers vibe! (A bit of a new experience for us since It was a business/vacation trip for our YT channel Dax and Lex)

  • 4/5 Maria JoĂŁo C. 2 years ago on Google
Daniel was super helpful. Breakfast could have more quantity, but it was very good. It had a nice view. The bed was also super comfy. They also let us leave our baggage while we were away.

Great hostel in Guatemala City! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Pancake breakfast every morning was great! Dorm beds are great, more like pods rather than bunk beds. Lots of shower facilities / washrooms. Really good vibe / atmosphere.

Clean hostel with comfortable beds (I didn't feel any springs) and hot showers. The pancakes at the free breakfast are so good. Well equipped kitchen. Nearby a supermarket, ATM, and food options open late. You can see the planes taking off and landing from the kitchen/rooftop area. About a 40 minutes walk to the train museum and other museums. The staff are super nice an helpful. I read some negative reviews so had low expectations, but I only found positives at this hostel! I didn't find the bell ringing to be too loud like other reviews said. I think everyone in the dorm was asleep by around 10pm and I stayed there on a weekend. Maybe I'm more accustomed to city noise, but I think it was normal background noise. I didn't find any mold in my pod in the dorm or anywhere else like another review mentioned.

  • 1/5 Ademis P. 1 year ago on Google
I’ll be honest and this has nothing to do with the staff because they were nice BUT the place is not it. We booked a private room for one night. The private room was downstairs right next to the check in desk which didn’t feel private at all. There was constant noise. Then for the private rooms you get the bathroom that everyone uses, which again is next to the check in desk. The room was dark and had a weird smell to it. The walls didn’t look clean and some were dark that made me think there was mold. The smell was so bad that we hated going back in the room. The kitchen upstairs is near the roof which is cool but it was not the cleanest. Also, the walls are pretty thin in the hostel, Noise travels easily so keep that in mind. Overall, I was nervous for my health in that room. Please consider somewhere else.

Stayed for a day, people often stay for only a night before moving on. Pod style beds give privacy, Cristian was very helpful on the front desk. The area is a trendy, safe area.

  • 5/5 Kevin M. 2 years ago on Google
I really like the setup of the dorm beds - each has an individual curtain, plugs, and fan. Good wifi. Breakfast is good bonus. It's in a very nice safe area to get acquainted with Guatemala City

I don't understand the such high reviews score of this hostel. This place is the dirtiest hostel I've ever stepped in! We got a room which was obviously not been cleaned since the sheets were full of hair of the previous guests (even other than head hair!) and even the floor was dusty and full of hair as well. The worst thing is that after telling it to the receptionist, it seemed that he was not surprised and even after showing the evidences he was saying that the room had been cleaned. So we decided that we couldn't sleep there since the perception of clean was obviously very bad and even if he offered to clean it again it wouldn't have been fine for sure. Thank God they at least have been kind to cancel the reservation without fees and we found an Airbnb in the same neighborhood for just a little bit more. I feared seriously for my health and it would have been a nightmare sleeping there. I really don't have anything personal against this place but I believe that at least a basic cleaning of a room is not much to ask for any hostel and if you're not able to do that so you shouldn’t be allowed to be open! Plus it looks like a scam since reviews are super good on Hostelworld. It is really not at all what it is described there. At least be honest and don't fool people like that!

  • 4/5 Will M. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty good. Just don’t plan on being able to check in or get in the front door after 2am on the weekends.
