I can definitely recommend this hotel. We were picked up from the airport, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, kinda historical with a very special atmosphere, it's really unique. The garden was beautiful too. In the morning we even got a tipical guatemalan breakfast, which was delicious. Special thanks to Raul and Sophie for giving us useful advice about the city, Guatemala itself. Also for arranging us a bus to Antigua for a very good price, as foreigners we saved a lot of money with all those tips.

Can’t recommend Casa Carmel enough! A peaceful and cozy stop near the historic district in Guatemala City. All of the staff are helpful and kind, and it was enjoyable staying there. My room had a window facing the street that was a touch noisy at times but no issues whatsoever for anyone used to city life. Would gladly return! Thanks Sophie and Raul.

It says the reception desk service is 24 hours. However, we couldn't get into the hotel at midnight on Saturday. The doors were closed. They never called us to inform us there would not be a reception service. We rang the bell for 15 minutes, knocked on doors and windows and waited for 30 minutes in front of the hotel in the middle of the night and had to find another hotel at 2 am to spend the night. Although they locked the doors and didn't let us in, they refused to refund our money. So we were left on the street in the middle of the night, looked for another available hotel and didn't get a refund.

Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundlichkeit! Wir kamen sehr früh in der Stadt an. Einchecken konnten wir, laut Booking, erst ab 14.00h. Als wir ankamen ( auf gut Glück) morgens um 6.45h, hat man uns sofort unser Zimmer bereitgestellt und wir konnten unser Zimmer beziehen. Was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Hotel ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr sauber und auch beim Zimmer war alles perfekt. Das Frühstück war sehr köstlich. Rundum waren wir sehr zu frieden! Bis zum nächsten Mal.

We stayed with my husband for two nights at Casa Carmel. This hotel is so amazing, really historical and beautiful, super clean and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious. The garden is very vivid and it has a lot of flowers and a nice fountain. We definitely recommend this place.
