Nice and cozy venue with indoor seating. The 10-course tasting menu was very interesting (a lot of corn with Mayan influences). Also ordered some cocktails and wine by the glass and an extra dish (“alfombra” made with some spices and candy, it was tasty and really pretty). Service was good, friendly and efficient. Prices were great for the flavors and the size of the portions. Limited self-parking.

A Captivating Dining Experience at Flor de Lis: A Fusion of Elegance, Superb Service, and Intriguing Culinary Delights During my last trip to Guatemala City, I had the pleasure of visiting Flor de Lis restaurant with my business partners. We made sure to book in advance to secure a dinner reservation, as this establishment can be quite challenging to visit without prior arrangements. The restaurant exudes elegance, and the service provided was truly exceptional. Upon perusing the menu, we were immediately captivated by its intriguing offerings. Each course was accompanied by a detailed explanation from our knowledgeable server, enlightening us about the origins and inspirations behind each delectable dish. It was a delightful journey for our palates, blending flavors from diverse culinary traditions. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between classic elegance and contemporary flair. The stylish decor and modern touches created an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, I must note that the cocktail selection offered was somewhat limited, which surprised me, considering the usual presence of a more extensive mixology menu in such establishments. The same applied to the wine options. Nevertheless, this slight observation did not overshadow the exceptional quality of the food and service. In conclusion, I am confident that I will return in the future to further explore the culinary delights at Flor de Lis. I commend the restaurant for their remarkable dining experience, and at this moment, I am awarding them a well-deserved 5-star rating. However, should the cocktail offerings not improve upon my next visit, I will make the necessary adjustment to reflect my updated evaluation.

What a dining experience! I came here alone and absolutely adored this place. The dishes are works of art and delectable. The server explains the narrative of each plate when you’re served. All of the staff were amicable. I definitely vibed with the music too.

That was a true experience. Food I have never had, served in ways I have never experienced. Cheese balls rolled in crushed popcorn served on hot wood and incense burning is just one example. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try unique food that celebrates Mayan culture and is interested in experiential dinning. Also, the wine is 🔥

So I'm on the fence with this restaurant. The experience and atmosphere were exceptional. The food was good, but unfortunately, I could hardly hear nor understand what I was eating. Then there's the cost. We had the 8 course dinner for 2. No prices were given nor explained. Even at, let's say, 400q per person. Plus 2 non alcoholic drinks, one mixed drink, and one glass of horrible Chilean wine. With the drinks, OUR bill was almost $1400 quetzal. I found it a nice experience but not worthwhile. Especially when no prices were explained. I don't mind paying, I just don't like surprises.

Loved the experience! 380Q for a 8 course tasting or 425Q for 10 courses, we opt for 10 courses and every dish was exquisite. Great presentation and I loved listening to each Mayan story behind the inspiration of the dish. Great staff and cocktail as well.

Flor de Lis is a very nice restaurant serving contemporary Guatemalan food. The menu is a 10 (or 8) course degustation following the history of Mayan culture. If you want to travel through food, it is the place to go. The Chef and the Staff are friendly and professional.

What an excellent and unique experience this was! For international travelers, the chefs who work here speak English and were able to comprehensively describe the origins and flavors of the dishes very well. There was also a wide variety of flavors from smokey to earthy to sweet to mushroomy, and more!

The experience was very… interesting. The food itself was not very tasty. If you ever had a meal in a decent restaurant it would be better than this. The meals looked very interesting and but the taste was very meh. Many of the meals we ended up not eating, and paid full price + a tip that the place gave themselves. 10 meals with a 5 minute span in between. The server told me not to go to the restroom, because next meal was coming up… when you can’t even finish the first 9 meals, it doesn’t really matter at that point. Disappointing and not worth the money :)

Interesting food experience. The waiter explains the history of each plate referring popol vuh. If you are a foreigner like myself you will have no idea what they are talking about. The place is smaller than it looks in photos.

Just spectacular. The food— every bite was magical. Absolutely worth it. You have to experience this in person, there’s really no describing it.

Great experience something different outside the box as a chef love that. For me all course was great. For my taste didn't like the last course that was dessert but everything was great and would come back. Music great and just great dinner. Thankyou to Chefs and staff Well done

I requested a reservation and received a confirmation a day before with listed intolerances (dairy was one), but when came, waitress was under impression it was for next day. Not sure if that’s the reason my dairy intolerance was ignored. I mentioned I could tolerate very small amounts of lactose. I was served melted cheese and ice cream, that didn’t agree with me. The presentation was amazing, food tasted great. I have received 9 courses. My drink was good, too.

The food is great.I went with my husband and we both did the tasting menu. However, the portion is too small even for a testing menu. We were both hungry after eating 6 courses and had to eat something else after (that’s crazy). So, the food is 5/5 but the portions size 2/5

Extremely difficult to find a flaw at this place. The food, the service and the atmosphere makes it all for an extremely pleasant dining experience. The place is small but inviting and the food taste along with its presentation is absolutely awesome. There's a cascade of flavors with every dish that will leave you no room for any conversation other than the joy of every bite. Absolutely enjoyable place.

This is a terrific fine dining experience. The chef has put together a fantastic menu based on mayan mythology as the backstory. I found the continual textural challenge of the food quote fulfilling. The flavors were unique, and the service top notch. A definite must visit in Guatemala.

It was an amazing experience. The different dishes were a journey with the chef and the kitchen stuff and we enjoyed every minutes of it. The service was very professional and pleasant. Thank you for a great evening.

Amazing restaurant that uses modern techniques with Guatemalan ingredients. Plus you can also order cocktails from Balam.

What an incredible treat. The food made me so happy and the tasting journey was rooted in Mayan culture. This really made for an incredible night.

Extremely bad communication. I contacted and got my first response several hours later. I then received a message which simply said "Hola michael, ahora te confirmamos" ... 🤷🏼‍♂️ You can see from the image that I still didn't get a response 20hrs later, and so we called only to be told they were closed. So in answer to the response from the restaurant about why I can leave a review without trying the food, is simply because a restaurant needs to be good at more than just making food. I suggest you improve your customer service. You're 1 star review is deserved. 😙

Wow, wow, wow. All around. Guatemalan ingredients, Mayan inspiration, with fine Spanish techniques. The food is truly amazing and the chef is very innovative. We had the 10 course tasting and left not feeling stuffed, we were perfectly full because there wasn't a ton of starch. If you can, definitely make this a destination during your trip. It's delicious and well worth it.

Amazing! Absolutely loved every dish served by the chef. The service is fantastic and they are adaptable to all sorts of dietary restrictions. The experience and the atmosphere make Mayan food a one of a kind experience. Would 100% recommend!

They rely on emulsions and play with a crunch counteraction too much, to me it had a less wide flavor profile as a result. Very good history lesson on Mayan food and staff accomodated all my requests. Loved the squash dish! Good value for this kind of experience but I felt a bit left to be desired.

Such a unique experience. Each dish carefully prepared and designed to represent Mayan history. All were perfectly cooked and served elegantly.

😐 The food is good, but the service should improve, the staff doesn't like to assist, you need to call the waiters several times.
