I truely loved and my visit to the museum and had a chance to go back through their objects, relics and archeological pieces. I love that the explanation was in both English and Spanish. Big collection, I love Guatemala.

Well put together museum with interesting artifacts. All information is in both English and Spanish. Definitely worth the extra 5Q to be able to take photos.

Located next to Francisco Marroquín University. This museum has a great collection of archaeological pieces from many archaeological sites in Guatemala. The entrance fee is only Q.45.00 quetzales, you can pay cash or credit card. Open from 9am to 5pm during the week. Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

Small but good. Nice location at a university, friendly staff. The main anthropological museum in town is closed temporarily so this is a good alternative.

An underrated hidden gem in Guatemala City! I must admit that I am a huge history nerd, but if you want to see unique artificers after visiting sites like Tikal and learn more about the history of the Maya while in Guatemala this is the museum to do so in Guatemala City.

Superb examples of many pre-hispanic arts. US$2 photo-taking charge, worth it. If they stamp your parking ticket, parking is free.

Lovely museum with a special section on ancient Mayan women. Price is 45 quetzales for entry which is very reasonable. You need to take ID to get through the security gate to enter the complex.

Small museum on a college campus. Relatively interesting and for the price it was worth it. Museum is small and you’ll go through it quickly.

Nice museum explaining all time phases of the Mayan culture, in a modern university setting with lots of available parking. Be sure to also check k out the textiles museum next door, and the eatery a short walk away.

The museum is closed as of April 13 because of COVID. The website doesn’t show it as closed which is all the more annoying because I wasted money on an Uber to get there.

I don't know enough about mayan culture to judge. This is someone's private collection which goes through many different eras and is crammed with mayan artifacts, some that go back over 2000 years. Museum located in a Parkside setting

👍👍 Not a review of how it is today. I grew up right across the street from this site. Left Guatemala when I was 12. The memories are just incredible, as there two homes across the street toward another small hill and that was it in that direction back in the early 70s even. Lots of caves everywhere...
