đź‘Ť Magnificent site. It seemed safe to me, and the presence of the vultures gives it a surreal and macabre air in some parts of the cemetery, especially the part that is near the garbage dump. It also has magnificent examples of 19th century funerary architecture.

It's an incredible place. Its mausoleums are incredible and some exaggerate in luxuries and their constructions, you can enter with your car and the streets are clearly labeled so you don't get lost, although you can spend hours seeing and admiring the structures and beautiful monuments in each tomb, we wanted to go see the grave of the girl from Guatemala who died of love but we couldn't find her. But we left there admired by all the beauties we saw.

Whether you are a tourist or someone who’s going to stay in Guatemala City for a longer period: don’t leave this place unvisited! It’s primarily a well-kept cemetery which will offer you many subjects for incredible photographs. The second reason why you should visit and walk down to the very “edge” is an incredible view of “Bosque Barranco”. A canyon which the city uses as a landfill/ garbage dump. Things like these are hard to take. And this is not the only place of this kind within the city. Although you will see many families strolling around or maintaining gravesites: be aware of robbers and people who see more than a monthly salary in your camera. Keep your belongings in your bag if you don’t use them or leave them at home. Nothing happend to me but people constantly remind me of the criminality around such places.

The most amazing hidden jewel! See Gothic chapels, tears of marble, fallen soldiers, presidents, Egyptian tombs... hard to describe the beauty of this place. See it before it disappears.
