First do NEVER BUY the ticket online... Online i would have paid almost 50% more for the same ticket. Second. I bought a ticket and couldn't pay by cardz even though they advertise you can pay with VISA which you CAN'T! Later, we were not allowed to board the bus till departure time has passed, even though there was NO reason... We ended up departing 30 minutes late... Thank you! Later we got stuck in traffic waiting in Line for more than 2 hours and while hundreds of cars, trucks and other busses passed us... Reason, a Truck was disabled and blocked the road... I wonder how a driver values "safety" soo high to not over take a bunch of trucks for more then two hours while hundreds of cars, busses and trucks take the "risk"... And guess what after more than 2 hours later he finally had enough courage to do so... For me that has NOTHING to do with safety anymore! My guess the driver get paid by hour... Ohh and no there was never ANY information, excuse about the delay... Toilets were dirty and NEVER had any paper... Water to wash your hands didn't work...

Very bad. We’ve been waiting for the bus for 3 hours, so we wanted to change our tickets for the next day Because i was sick. The guy refused and said that was not his problem. Then, is the bus, the toilets were locked and water dropped on our heads. The bus was very old and dirty. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

I'm writing about a trip I took from the Peten to Guatemala City with this bus company. I went into their office in Guatemala City and they told me that my bus leaves at 5am from Poptun and that its a 7 hour trip. I used this information to book a connection for my return trip (from Guatemala City to Xela). When I showed up at the office in Poptun to confirm this information the night before, they told me that this was a lie (it leaves at 6:30am). The agents also hadn't told me that the bus doesn't go to Zone 1 (drop off is at Centra Norte). In the end, the trip took 8.5 hours, because of the frequent stops, making the bus overpacked. It was a dreadful trip, with no A. Needless to say, I didn't make my connecting trip and had to pay over 150Q to buy new tickets.

This was the worst bus ride we ever had! All the bad things we red in the comments before the ride came actually true. First, our seats were really uncomfortable and undstable, it was moving around. The front windshield was damaged ond the right and the left side. We startet at 9pm from guatemala to flores. At midnight the bus stopped somewhere and people from the market came into the bus and sold their food, they were that loud and had a annoying flashlight so everyone in the bus woke up, and they were in the bus for at least 15min.. so we had to watch for our stuff all the time. Furthermore, the bus was really cold, without a blanket or something we'd be freezing! The horrible bus toilet odor could we smell all night long! Moreover the wifi didn't work, there were no televisions at all and many things were broken. Most of the other guatemalen passenger in the bus were very unfriendly and spoke loudly in the middle of the night with each other or on the phone! And last but not least, the bus motor broke down and we were stucked in the middle of nowhere for around 45min, so in the end instead of a 9hour trip we had a horrible 12.5 hour trip!! It wasn't worth the 180Q!

FDN TRANSPORTES - FUENTE DEL NORTE - March 26 2017 1030pm from Guatemala City to Flores This was the worst bus ride of my life. I had to endure a 12 hour bus ride from Guatemala City to Tikal and it ended up being the most uncomfortable trip I have ever experienced. I paid extra for VIP seats which they told me is very comfortable, with pillows and blankets, but at 4am the bus stopped in the middle of an intersection and pulled over and another truck met them and they gave that truck all the blankets and pillows which we never got. They stopped for a bathroom break and my husband got off and they almost left without him because they didn't even check if everyone was on the bus or not. Thank god my husband got in on time. Also, to my disappointment my seat didn't even recline, there was a screaming baby the entire trip, no toilet paper, the TVS didn't work, the free wifi was never connected, and it was dirty (full of sand, dust and garbage from the previous passenger). It ended up being a 12 hour trip from hell. Something else I want to mention is when we got to Flores they rushed us off the bus and put us all in a shuttle and said this is the shuttle to Tikal and they will take you to where you need to go! We needed a ride to a hostel so they said they would take us. Looks like this shuttle must have some sort of agreement with the FDN bus driver because it ended up being a scam. We had another tour already booked for Tikal but when we were on the bus the driver and guide asked where I was going and I told him the name of the hostel. He then said he would only take us there if we did the Tikal tour with them. I explained I already have a tour planned and they said they would just drop us off in the middle of the street if we don't do the tour with them. They got angry but thankfully I speak Spanish so I was able to negotiate and we ended up paying 25Q each for him to drop us off at the hostel. It was very unsafe and sketchy. So beware of these shuttles!

A smooth experience. I took the 7.30pm overnight bus with Maya de Oro from Guatemala City to Flores/Santa Elena. There were no issues. It departed on time and arrived just after 4am. I booked a $76 USD semi-bed seat - it was fine to sleep in, just note that these don’t recline to horizontal.

I had a great experience with my overnight transfer from Guatemala to Flores. The 2-story bus felt brand new, you could put your seat back almost vertically, and me as almost 2m tall, had the best sleep in a bus ever in the very spacious seats, even though all seats were occupied. The bus left punctual and arrived on time. What could be improved is the station: the toilets were closed and you had to go to the "basic" ones next door.

the most HORRIBLE experience in my life! if possible, i would rate 0 stars! don't ever book a bus ride with this company! we booked a "first-class" ticket from Guatemala City to Flores with maya oro. First: the bus is old, it's rusty outside and it gives you an idea of how it will look inside. The Seats are disgusting and never been cleaned in its life and FAR AWAY from being first class and comfortable. but if that only would be the worst...they cool the bus down to 5C degrees. it's so freezing, that you nearly can see your breath!!!! and blankets is a foreign word. also it stinks all the time from the toilet, i avoided to use... the bus driver is completely unfriendly and don't actually want to understand you. NEVER AGAIN... i deeply recommend you to never book a ride with this overpriced disgusting bus company!

When you buy tickets just ensure that you get a First Class bus. We got one that rattled quite a lot, and worse - it looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned in a long time, probably months. It had AC, but the smell of mold and grime was overall.

Worst company ever is true that all things have limitation but living with lazyness, lies and overall indifference to the customer service, misleading the tourist with bad info or service. Seriously NO RESPONSABILITIES. people have plans but you guys you think that doesn't have to do with you let see what happens when money flow stops for your company really there is more and better transportation company's.

We traveled from Guatemala city to Flores. Bus was comfortable even for me 190 high person which I was more than happy. USB charging doesn't work, air condition was ok. Only stops to have a rest a because of police control. We were late in Flores for about 2 hours but no problem for us. I can recommend to anybody

To all my appreciated American tourists and now fellow American citizens: Avoid traveling with Fuentes Del Norte at all costs. When I was young I used to travel with this transportation company and I ended up hating it. They usually scam you with their "first class" transportation services, their drivers are reckless and their buses are unsafe to the point that it has become a common trend to read news about FDN's fatal bus accidents and criminal assaults. Please folks, find another transportation company or rent a car instead. I want you to enjoy your trip through my beautiful country of origin safely. Fuentes Del Norte isn't worth your vacations budget.

We took the overnight FDN bus from Guatemala to st. Elena / Flores earlier this month, we paid 400Q (£44) one way for the clasedeoro compartment downstairs and the seats that fold flat. On the way to Flores we were fairly pleased with the service, we got a blanket, pillow and a small paper bag containing a bottle of water, a muffin and a few sweets. The compartment was self contained and air conditioned, although the door was hard to open and had to be slammed shut, which was noisy and disruptive to other passengers. The WiFi was good, each seat had a USB charging point. The motion of the bus going around corners and slowing to go over speed bumps made it a little difficult to sleep but overall it was good. However, on the way back from Flores, there was no WiFi at all at any point during the journey, there was no explanation for this, nor any apology. When we got to Guatemala and complained about it, we were refused a refund by staff at the station in Guatemala who said we would have to take it up with the office in St. Elena, which was clearly not practical. The bathroom on the bus was not clean.

First, I highly recommend taking the overnight bus from Guatemala City to Flores. Beside the unpleasant train station, everything else is great. After taking an over night bus from Guatemala City to Flores, I left my purse on the bus with all of my belongings. We contacted the bus station and it was hand delivered with everything in it hours later. It is hard to come across honest people, but this BUS COMPANY deserves an A++

Worst service ever. The bus was right outside when we arrived and they indicated for us to go after the bus and they would allow us to aboard. After doing as told with a new born and just gone through surgery they denied us the service. When explained at the office they denied to reach to an agreement or a solution. I happen to travel very often with them and I did notice that when there are seats empty they pick up people on the way and keep the money of the those passengers.
