With CA Travelers you will have the best experience hiking Acatenango! They are incredibly detailed oriented, professional and thoughtful. If you want to support a female owned business that is also eco-friendly book a tour with this place. Do it!!

Did the Acatenango overnight hike. Amazing experience! I recommend going with CA Travelers as the equipment lent was of quality, you get a camelbak 3L water pouch which helps a lot in carrying water. Also, the included meals were especially good. Bring your own snacks in case, but I barely needed mine. But I suggest taking the additional walking sticks once you get to the base of the volcano. I had a tent all to myself and slept pretty good; didn't get cold. Although the trek at 4am can be pretty cold. Be prepared. The weather was not great when I did it, but still enjoyed the experience. Enjoy the views and stretch your calves once you're done 😁

Fantastic service all round! We hiked Acatenango which was an amazing experience due to the helpful explanation, the inclusion of many things you don’t want to buy (gloves, camelpak, jackets etc), and the delicious food (jerk chicken & rice, spaghetti bologenese). Plus all the guides are locals 👌 Plus, their shuttle service is excellent with helpful communication and comfy transport. Thank you CA for making Guat such a breeze for us!

We had the best experience hiking and camping on Acetenango with CA Travelers. Beginning to end they were nothing but supportive and welcoming - it’s a tough hike but the delicious food, nice little touches like hot chocolate, wine and marshmallows for the fire, and warm comfortable accomodation made it very, very enjoyable. We were blown away by how awesome our guides were - we really felt looked after by Jerson and Denilso. 10/10 would recommend these guys.

We did the Acatenango tour with CA Travelers and it was incredible, obviously the experience was fantastic itself but the service provided by CA Travelers just made it! The information we received from Fara at the start of the tour was great so everyone knew exactly what was happening. The supplies they provide are everything you need for the tour. More than anything, the guides were so attentive, kind and hard working. The food was incredible and the camp set up is great for everyone to feel comfortable when spending the night high up on the side of a volcano. The company really have good values too and are focused on helping the local community through the tours they provide and ensuring the tour is eco friendly! Can't recommend CA Travelers enough for this once in a lifetime experience.

Attended the Day of the Dead Kite Festival with CA Travelers and they made the experience memorable. The entire staff was very professional and you can tell they love the organization that they work for. The created a welcoming environment for the group on the tour and provided vast knowledge on the cultural components of the event. They even hosted a kite making session with a local kite maker which was tons of fun. Since the festival had tens of thousands of folks participating, it was really nice to have a private camp where we could refill on water, use the private bathrooms, grab a snack, and even just sit down. They also offered flexible transportation that made navigating the commute back very easy. Definitely a tour to offer again!!

Loved our tour. One of the best experiences ever. We choose them due to their environmental standpoints and how they give back to the community. Truly an inspiring cooperation that is helping the local communities a lot with education. Would surely recommend!

We did a day tour to the Giant Kite Festival in Sumpango. We really enjoyed ourselves and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The other guests were lively and enjoyable. The festival is fun, but it is very crowded. The tour, as described, had a quiet oasis nearby where we could take a break from the crowds and come and go for the daily events. We even made our own little kites. Because of the good experience with CA Travelers, we booked another tour for cycling and a coffee plantation visit. Again, very enjoyable and a great guide. We are a retired couple and had no issues with the cycling.

I climbed Acatenango with CA Travelers, and had an absolutely incredible time. The guides Brandon, Eddie and Harry were also fantastic and always available to help. The climb isn't always easy, but if you pace yourself you'll be fine.

If you're thinking about hiking Acatenango, I can practically guarantee that you'll have a great experience with CA Travellers. They're super friendly, helpful & professional and supply you with good food (various options too) & equipment for the whole journey. The guides understand, but don't speak too much English (they're currently learning), although that won't be too much of an issue, as they will still cater for your every need. You'll no doubt feel comfortable & supported throughout the whole journey. I can confidently recommend this amazing crew, plus they're supporting a great cause, so your money will also be put to good use.

I went with CA for the acatenango hike. The tour guides were amazing. The included food was so great and portions were perfect for what you need on an intense hike. They also provide you with many things other companies don’t, like a jacket, gloves and a headlamp. Although we had some bad weather thanks to the rainy season, we were still able to see volcán fuego erupting at night, and had some amazing views of the volcano from base camp in the morning. Hands down one of the best tour and shuttle agencies in antigua. They put care and attention into everything they do.

Booked the Acatenango tour with these guys and was 100% satisfied. They work with local porters and guides so some of the profit goes into the community. The porters and guides were great guys, very helpful and always looking out for the group. So no one stays behind and when someone struggles they are here to help. The food and equipment (everything you need is provided) is also top quality, as is the base camp. You can't go wrong with this group, highly recommend!!

What an absolutely amazing experience!!! I have fallen in love with CA Travelers! First, I did the Coffee & Gastronomy Bike Tour, as an out-of-shape woman who hasn't been on a bike since I was a child, I was expecting to be miserable during the tour. Not the case, I loved every moment of it, felt safe driving around the streets of Antigua, and got so much interesting information not only about the coffee plantations but the area and culture! Next, I did the Lake Atitlan tour! Again, unmatched customer service and a lot of interesting information. I do recommend staying a couple of days in Lake Atitlan if possible, so much to do and see! Finally, I did the Acatenango Tour. Life changing! Again, I am an out-of-shape person, and I loved it!! Yes, I was dead by the end. Get yourself a porter, and push through! You must add on the Fuego hike after the main hike, it was deadly brutal, but I would have regretted not going. Views are spectacular at the campsite, the guides are lovely and again, the customer service is UNMATCHED! If you are visiting Guatemala, you can not miss doing a tour, or two (or three!) with CA Travelers! And when you do, say hi to the wonderful Farah and Pedro for me!!

CA travel were absolutely fantastic from start to finish! We went in to the store in Antigua to enquire and they gave us all the required information. They picked us up promptly the next day and took us to the supply store where they equipped us with really good quality gear for the trip. We got filled camelbacks, thick warm jackets and your packed lunch/dinner at as well as other essentials. You also had the option to hire walking boots (life saver for me as I only had thin trainers)! We then drove to the base of the volcano and met our local guides who were fantastic. We had the option to rent walking sticks and hire a porter to carry our bags (mine was 12kg with all the gear in so the porter made the difference between me enjoying the hike and having a terrible day!) Definitely recommend the walking sticks, they’re 5Q’s each and the people who didn’t get them regretted it (especially with the sand-like steep terrain at the top). We took regular breaks on the way up and the food they provided was amazing (with ridiculously big portion sizes!) Made it to base camp at around 16.00 and there was a great set up, roaring fire ready for us under a shelter and dinner to be prepared whenever we requested (amazing spag bol with garlic bread). Views of Fuego from the camp were incredible, felt so close to the eruptions even whilst lying in our tent! 3 man tents but only 2 people in each so plenty of room and the sleeping bags were thick and warm. Optional trek to Fuego left at 18.30, and the 6 brave members of our group (24 in total) that went for it had an amazing time with ridiculously good views. We toasted marshmallows on the campfire, drank wine (both provided by CA travel) and enjoyed the view all evening! 3.30 wake up the following morning for a 1.5hr hike to the summit, where the views were AMAZING. Literally the best thing I’ve ever done. Breakfast was also brilliant, with cereal, toast and egg muffins, fresh coffee and strawberries! Worth noting - my partner and I had read lots of reviews online saying the hike was ridiculously hard and the hardest thing people had ever done. This made us very nervous considering we are not regular hikers and don’t exercise loads, but you can go at any pace you like and it was easier than we expected (we thought we’d be bringing up the rear but we were in the group that arrived first at base camp!) Also to note - if you’re wondering which company to book with, choose CA travel! We met a lot of other groups on the way up/down and we were by far the most prepared (some people hadn’t been given rain ponchos so were cold and soaked, had tiny lunch portions and were hiking in trainers with no coats/no walking sticks) We heard lots of people saying they were freezing cold the whole time and our camp/tents were very warm and pleasant. This made all the difference in energising us for the morning hike! They also really focused on an ethical-tourism theme, encouraging you to litter pick on the way down if you can/tip the local guides so they can feed their families etc. Such a positive experience and will never forget it! Thank you CA travel!!

The bike tour to the villages around Antigua and the coffee tasting was lots of fun. Our guide David was a really nice guy. He had lots of trivia about the surrounding villages and Antigua. Would recommend booking a tour here.

Hiking Volcán Acatenango was one of the highlights of my whole year of travel. Of course you must be open-minded to the fact you may not be lucky with a clear night/ next morning but WOW, if you do get the weather it is one of the best things you will probably see in your whole life. I am still on such a high from it even a week later. Photos will never do it justice, you've got to go and see it with your own eyes. I think the experience was that much better because of the thorough organization from CA Travelers. I HIGHLY recommend going with these guys over some of the other options. It seems from speaking with others on the hike from other companies, we had the best camp set up, the best food in terms of quality and quantity, the best equipment with us set for the walk and the cold at the top. I couldn't fault CA and want to say a huge thanks to Marvin and our lovely guides. You must do it if you visit Guatemala!

Hiked the Acatenango with CA Travelers, wow! One of the best experiences of my life. Everything is organized in the best possible way down to the smallest details; the food was amazing, the guides who make sure that everyone makes it up even in the slowest pace, the camp that’s set up perfectly, and everything else! And of course the owners who are the sweetest couple with incredible goals to help the community. Best organized tour that I’ve been on. And just a personal recommendation, definitely take a porter up (you actually enjoy the hike more and it’s their income).

We were a group of 24 people and we did the Acatenango hike. After a lot of recommendation, we are glad we did this hike with CA!! Everything was so organize, from the equipment(coats, gloves and even flashlights) to the stops and lookouts during the hike. We were mostly amazed by the food box we got, it contained 3 meals including snacks like fruits, marshmallows and english muffin.

We booked our Acatenango tour with CA Travelers and it was a very positive experience. Well organised agency, the booking process is easy and informative. They provide all sleeping equipment (ready for you at the campsite), as well as food (lunch/dinner/breakfast) for you to carry in your backpack. Also included in the cost is the rental of jackets, gloves, headlamp, scarf, water. You can rent a backpack for an extra 50Q which is convenient if you don’t have one the right size with you. They are in charge of all the logistics/transfers, and will drop you off at the entry of the volcano in the capable hands of the guides, who will be with you for the entire trek. Would recommend!

While on the way to the Acatenango, one of the owners told the story of how they set up the company. It felt really authentic and personal this way. The hike was great and the camp is already set up on the mountain which is great. There are isolation mats used in the tents and nice beds which makes it less cold.

The service is spectacular! It is one of the best service that I have ever had. Farrah is an amazing CEO and she organized everything well. The bus picked up on time, equipment are plenty and well prep. Food are amazing, a lot of food as well! So dont bring too much snack, you wont need it. The tour guides always be with you and help you along the way. They are very friendly, I wish I know Spanish better so I can have conversation with them. Overall, TOTALLY RECOMMENDED. Support their causes and their service!
