CA
travel
were
absolutely
fantastic
from
start
to
finish!
We
went
in
to
the
store
in
Antigua
to
enquire
and
they
gave
us
all
the
required
information.
They
picked
us
up
promptly
the
next
day
and
took
us
to
the
supply
store
where
they
equipped
us
with
really
good
quality
gear
for
the
trip.
We
got
filled
camelbacks,
thick
warm
jackets
and
your
packed
lunch/dinner
at
as
well
as
other
essentials.
You
also
had
the
option
to
hire
walking
boots
(life
saver
for
me
as
I
only
had
thin
trainers)!
We
then
drove
to
the
base
of
the
volcano
and
met
our
local
guides
who
were
fantastic.
We
had
the
option
to
rent
walking
sticks
and
hire
a
porter
to
carry
our
bags
(mine
was
12kg
with
all
the
gear
in
so
the
porter
made
the
difference
between
me
enjoying
the
hike
and
having
a
terrible
day!)
Definitely
recommend
the
walking
sticks,
they’re
5Q’s
each
and
the
people
who
didn’t
get
them
regretted
it
(especially
with
the
sand-like
steep
terrain
at
the
top).
We
took
regular
breaks
on
the
way
up
and
the
food
they
provided
was
amazing
(with
ridiculously
big
portion
sizes!)
Made
it
to
base
camp
at
around
16.00
and
there
was
a
great
set
up,
roaring
fire
ready
for
us
under
a
shelter
and
dinner
to
be
prepared
whenever
we
requested
(amazing
spag
bol
with
garlic
bread).
Views
of
Fuego
from
the
camp
were
incredible,
felt
so
close
to
the
eruptions
even
whilst
lying
in
our
tent!
3
man
tents
but
only
2
people
in
each
so
plenty
of
room
and
the
sleeping
bags
were
thick
and
warm.
Optional
trek
to
Fuego
left
at
18.30,
and
the
6
brave
members
of
our
group
(24
in
total)
that
went
for
it
had
an
amazing
time
with
ridiculously
good
views.
We
toasted
marshmallows
on
the
campfire,
drank
wine
(both
provided
by
CA
travel)
and
enjoyed
the
view
all
evening!
3.30
wake
up
the
following
morning
for
a
1.5hr
hike
to
the
summit,
where
the
views
were
AMAZING.
Literally
the
best
thing
I’ve
ever
done.
Breakfast
was
also
brilliant,
with
cereal,
toast
and
egg
muffins,
fresh
coffee
and
strawberries!
Worth
noting
-
my
partner
and
I
had
read
lots
of
reviews
online
saying
the
hike
was
ridiculously
hard
and
the
hardest
thing
people
had
ever
done.
This
made
us
very
nervous
considering
we
are
not
regular
hikers
and
don’t
exercise
loads,
but
you
can
go
at
any
pace
you
like
and
it
was
easier
than
we
expected
(we
thought
we’d
be
bringing
up
the
rear
but
we
were
in
the
group
that
arrived
first
at
base
camp!)
Also
to
note
-
if
you’re
wondering
which
company
to
book
with,
choose
CA
travel!
We
met
a
lot
of
other
groups
on
the
way
up/down
and
we
were
by
far
the
most
prepared
(some
people
hadn’t
been
given
rain
ponchos
so
were
cold
and
soaked,
had
tiny
lunch
portions
and
were
hiking
in
trainers
with
no
coats/no
walking
sticks)
We
heard
lots
of
people
saying
they
were
freezing
cold
the
whole
time
and
our
camp/tents
were
very
warm
and
pleasant.
This
made
all
the
difference
in
energising
us
for
the
morning
hike!
They
also
really
focused
on
an
ethical-tourism
theme,
encouraging
you
to
litter
pick
on
the
way
down
if
you
can/tip
the
local
guides
so
they
can
feed
their
families
etc.
Such
a
positive
experience
and
will
never
forget
it!
Thank
you
CA
travel!!
