To
whom
it
may
concern,
We,
Silkeborg
Gymnasium
in
Denmark,
have
arranged
study
trips
with
Mundo
School
in
San
Juan
del
Obispo
in
Guatemala
for
four
years.
Every
year
the
owners
of
Mundo
School,
Fredy
and
Lillian,
have
arranged
a
splendid
program
for
us.
We
have
traveled
for
12
days
with
a
class
of
approx.
Twenty
students
in
age
17-19
years
and
two
teachers.
The
Mundo
School
is
located
in
the
most
beautiful
surrounding
in
San
Juan
del
Obispo.
We
had
five
days
of
one-on-one
teaching
from
9-13,
where
every
student
had
an
excellent
teacher
who
engaged
the
students
with
a
mix
of
conversation,
grammar,
and
vocabulary
exercises.
The
teachers
were
very
accommodating
and
engaged
with
the
students.
A
relaxed
atmosphere
was
obtained
when
sitting
under
an
umbrella
in
the
green
garden
with
a
view
of
the
volcanoes.
Mundo
School
had
also
arranged
private
accommodation
at
Guatemalan
families.
Every
student
lived
in
a
family
and
experienced
the
Guatemalan
way
of
living.
Every
student
had
their
own
room,
with
a
bed,
a
desk,
a
closet,
and
a
chair.
The
rooms
were
clean
and
reflected
the
different
standards
of
living
in
Guatemala.
We
experienced
outstanding
hospitality,
and
every
family
was
very
attentive
and
caring.
Every
day
the
families
served
delicious
and
traditional
breakfast,
lunch,
and
supper,
and
it
was
also
at
this
time
of
the
day
when
the
students
talked
and
practiced
Spanish
and
got
closer
to
the
Guatemalan
culture.
Every
day,
Mundo
School
also
arranged
different
trips
to
and
events
at
local
destinations.
For
example,
we
visited
the
local
chocolate
workshop,
danced
salsa,
had
a
tour
around
Antiqua,
and
visited
an
Eco
farm,
and
an
indigenous
women
cooperative.
For
the
weekend,
we
went
on
a
short
trip
to
Lago
Atitlan,
where
Mundo
School
had
arranged
nice
accommodation
in
Panajachel
from
where
we
visited
different
villages
by
boat
on
the
beautiful
Lago
Atitlan.
Lastly,
Mundo
school
also
arranged
for
our
students
to
do
volunteer
work
for
three
days.
From
beforehand
the
students
had
requested
the
type
of
voluntary
work
they
wanted
to
experience.
Some
taught
school
children,
others
worked
on
an
eco-farm
or
in
a
panadería
(bakershop).
The
partnership
with
Mundo
School
has
been
excellent
all
four
times
we
have
visited
Guatemala.
The
communication
before
our
travel
has
been
good
and
reliable
all
the
way
from
the
first
preparations
to
the
final
visit.
Fredy
and
Lilian
have
been
tremendously
helpful,
and
kind
and
we
look
forward
to
visiting
again
this
coming
September.
Kind
regards,
Kristina
Krogh
(Spanish
teacher)
and
Signe
Meinicke

of
Education)
