Yet another ruined convent. Apparently, there were 38 churches and convents in Antigua in its heyday so there are quite a few. This one is the customary 40 Q to enter and unlike some others, parts are very well preserved. The bottom story of the cloisters is in especially good shape. The church, not so much. Its an ok place to visit, but if you have visited the Capuchin Convent (only a block away) before this one, you might be disappointed.

Beautiful area with many souvenir/gift shops and many old historic buildings and churches. Definitely worth an afternoon, preferably without rain but we made the best of the rain, just bring umbrellas or rain coats.

The names of this place are inconsistent in Google Maps, but there can only be this one grand relic by the name Santa Teresa at this particular head of a pin on a 4th Street corner. This place is near another old relic. I stood at that one to photograph this one of SantabTeresa. I thought of going inside through the grand archway, but I was stopped by the menu of fees: the richest person in Guatemala would pay much less to enter this place than would the poorest person of Haiti. This seems to conflict with the actual Jesus, who didn't seem to like money grubbing in the temple. Possibly this Teresa person was a member of the church of greed. Hard to know. She does occupy most of a city block.

Did not enter, as they were charging 40 quetzales for foreigners and the place did not appear to be in great shape. The local government would be smarter to develop a system where tourists play a flat fee to visit all of the historical sites in town, instead of paying at each church/convent you enter.

Not really worth the visit, there are more beautiful places in Antigua. I paid 40 Q entrance fee just to see empty rooms, there is nothing to see inside as this place still goes through restoration recovering from being a prison up to 2008. The inner yard is nice with pretty plantings but that’s about it. I was unable to visit the chapel and few other parts as they are undergoing renovations. I spent less than 10 minutes here unfortunately and I was the only person here

😐 40qtz for foreigners, 4x more than locals at 10qtz. It’s not like we make 4x more money in other countries. Other than that a pretty little park with ruins.

😠 We bought a very expensive Jade piece there. We just took it to our jeweler and he said it was worth about 1/4 what we paid. buyer beware.

👍👍 What a beautiful place, with a lot of history within its walls, if you go to Antigua it is a visit you must do, there is parking just behind the ruins and you can even hold events. Beautiful place!

👍 A stately, elegant building that used to house the government of the entire Central America until the late 18th century. It now hosts two museums one of which is free to enter.
