This place has very dishonest practices. After having a reservation placed for $20 per day we showed up and we’re told they could not honor our reservation. The best they could do was offer us a larger car for $80 per day. We went online immediately and showed them that same larger car was still online for $53 per day. Be very cautious when you come here; they are robbing tourists.

Had a good experience renting from them. Note to anyone renting, if your flight will be delayed please call them and inform them of the delay. This did not affect me, but there was a young american couple who came in and their flight was delayed over three hours. Their rental was canceled and the Hertz representative told them that after three hours they will lose their rental unless they call to inform them of the delay. They had to go to another rental car agency to get a car.

Customer service rep was good, the car was good too did over 1000 miles on it, only problem was the front window tint, so dangerous at night I could not see, ended up removing it because everyone here in Guatamala said to

Highly recommend Hertz Guatemala for all your car rental needs. This is my second time renting a car from them and I’ve had a pleasant experience from the beginning to the final moment of returning their vehicle. All their cars are very reliable to drive, always recently new models, nicely detailed inside and out, and overall the excellent car rental service experience you’d expect from Hertz being a world renowned reputable company. Very reasonable prices considering their lower car rental demand compared to first world countries and totally worth it if you want the peace of mind from a trustworthy company. LIED ABOUT RETURNING OUR DEPOSIT We had to pay a Q5000 (equivalent to $640 USD or £500 GBP) security deposit to hire a car. When we returned the car they confirmed there were no damages etc. and we would receive the full deposit back. The person serving us lied to us and gave us a receipt which clearly showed the deposit return had failed, but tried to claim it had worked. He then gave us a further receipt which he claimed was proof he had returned our deposit but it did not. We finally spoke to a manager after threatening to call the police because they would not return our money. He explained the deposit would be returned within a few days, maybe a week. We did not believe him but took multiple videos, photos and receipts as proof to show our bank if necessary. Over two weeks passed and we did not receive our refund for the security deposit, despite contacting Hertz on multiple occasions. We escalated this to our bank who ruled in our favour and finally returned our money!

Great service, the car was ready to at my arrival, excellent customer service at pick up and drop off. Highly recommended.

Best HERTZ franchisee ever, the staff was extremely helpful and the vehicle we rented was in great shape. I would for sure recommend using Hertz in Guatemala to anyone.

Unfortunately l, the customer service team at this Hertz is rude and seem to be mean for sport!! The rep was obviously lying through her teeth by telling me she can’t run a transaction twice in one day(?) I’ve never heard of that. Then she tried to tell me an astronomical amt. for rental car deposit… I called the 800 got it cut in half because she is a liar. The rep on the phone had to ask her “Why didn’t you extend the customer with this courtesy?” In other words, 🗣Stop playing and having these people call us!!” I have rented vehicles here several times…never have I EVER! Hertz, you guys just lost one! Guess I’ll blame it on the labor shortage. These ladies were terrible!!

Must disclose the deposit amount in advance for setting expectations

MUCH better than other car rental companies i have rented from in the city. The rental and the deposit are a little higher than the other companies but, let me tell you the mini van we rented was top of the line! I was just expecting a regular mini van not much extra. But, this van was luxury. Had back up cameras, remote door openers, leather seats very nice! Picking up the car was pretty easy had to wait on a couple checking in front of us but we were just excited to get there. Upon pickup of the car we made sure they noted everything (scratches etc) before we left as we have had some problems in the past with this on check in with other car rental companies (newly found bumps, scratches etc.). So upon return we were a little nervous they would find new things to charge for but, alas no! Such a relief they are a good, reliable, honest company to rent a car from in the city. I was able to reserve on their US website and have the reservation available when we got their and at the price quoted in my reservation (as i hear some car rental companies do not do in the city). I would rent from them again if i went back, recommended!

The process was was seamless. I was in the car within 5 minutes. Drop off was easy as well. The only drawback is the additional $200 to my credit card. As a Hertz Gold member, the deposit is steep compared to others rental companies. Otherwise all other aspects of the process were perfect.

Reliable car hire from a trusted company ? An improvement would be clearer pricing on their web page as all was not as it seemed when picking up the car

The booking process was smooth just like other reviewers said. When you ask for a refund, their attitude suddenly changes and no one answers your question. I've never seen any other car rental company with no refund policy. Once you make a reservation, no matter how soon you cancel it,(even if it's few months away before the trip) they never give you a refund. When I made a reservation(Believe me it was before covid19 hit the US), no one said it was nonrefundable. I couldn't find that even in my reservation confirmation. I don't know when they changed their policy and posted it on their website. When I asked for my refund, they said their non-refundable policy is "clear" on their website. Well, now you can check the policy on their website. I don't think "it was clear" early this year.

The customer service was really good. We did not have any problems. When we arrived at the airport they have the car ready and the paperwork as well ready for us only to sign and pay.
