Beautiful Indian temple located at hill top. The view is fabulous, a big part of the city can be viewed from the top which looks awesome. The temple is very clean and tidy and well maintained. The behaviour of the authority is very polite and humble with a helping attitude. The whole temple is filled with sculptures with minute details. The main deity Lord Kartikey who is worshipped in the form of Narayana. Unlike many other temples in India here is no forced donation which is mainly done by priests (pandas). Individual aarti is provided on request and if any offering for the lord is carried with, there's an option for that to offer. Altogether it's a must see place in Vellore. Regarding the communications it's a little far away from the city. Local auto can be availed at rs400 for a both way journey. You need to bargain with the driver before boarding because they can charge you with any fare. The distance is around 12 km which takes 30 to 40 mins.

The temple is neat & Clean and maintenance is good. They build a road with few hairpin bends to reach the mountain top of the temple. This way is recommended for elders and kids. A good divine place to spend time with the family and young kids.

One of the best maintained temple developed by Balamurugan Admai his 50 years of dedicated service to Lord Murugan has turned a small temple similar to that of Aurupadai Vedu. A must visit place in Vellore. Balamurugan Admai has touched more than millions of people to reach their goals.

Very well maintained and disciplined temple. The priests are well versed in Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The facilities are awesome. They charge a very meagre fare of Rs.5 for Darshan which is magnanimous. Prasad is free for five rupees, which shows their service mind. The Archan, Abhishek and Services are done without expecting Dakhina, but it's better to get the Tickets. Very very rare in this Kali Yug World. Steps are easy to climb and declimb. Rush is managed tactically by Nepali Gurka Sabh. No Parking token/ticket. No Chappal Ticket. Good Service for all the devotees. I can rate this temple as the best ever temple I have visited. The Vimana - Roof is Pure Gold and Mayil Vahana -Peacock is Silver made. Must Visit temples in Lifetime for all the people of all religions. There is an option to go till the hill top by Car or two wheeler which costs less than 50 INR, a fair cost for such hair-pin bend roads.

Lovely location. Calm, quiet, green surrounding. Temple is perched atop a hillock. You can spend upto 1 hour here. Two ways to reach the temple - stairs or vehicle. Stairs are reasonably steep. Lower part was cluttered with burnt out deeyas and food item offerings so it was slippery and sticky. A systematic path is marked out on the premises so that one cannot miss offering prayers to any deity. Around 8am the shops around were not open. From the highway two roads can be followed to the temple. First from Vellore side doesn't have any shops but terminates directly at the bottom of the stairs. The other road has shops and eateries.

Amazing temple for lord Murugan/Karthikeya on a small hillock. Easily accessible by road by car and bus from Vellore and arcot. Temple built by balaguru awamigal. Dates back to 1968. Hexagonal temple pool is new addition and wonderful to see from top.

The Vellore Arulmigu Ratnagiri Balamurugan Temple is a remarkable place of worship dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan (Kartikeya) in Thirumanikundram, Vellore, India. With its origins dating back to the 14th century, this temple holds great historical and cultural significance. It was even mentioned by the renowned poet Arunagirinathar in his literary works. Situated atop a hill, the temple's location perfectly aligns with ancient Hindu beliefs that associate hills with the presence of Murugan. The serene and scenic surroundings add to the spiritual experience of the devotees who visit. The primary attraction of the temple is the Murugan idol in the shrine, which is believed to be a divine manifestation of the deity. Additionally, the temple is associated with Swami Balamurugan Adimai, a revered guru who is considered to be another form of the deity. To reach the temple, one can either take the road from Vellore to Chennai, which is about 12 kilometres long, or opt for the adventurous climb of 300 steps. While the steps may be a bit steep for elderly visitors, they are sheltered and provide a comfortable ascent. Alternatively, vehicles can also access the top of the hill via a road. Interestingly, on the way to the temple, about 2 kilometres prior, there is a small mosque that serves as a remnant of a person who was a devoted follower of Muruga. This interfaith connection adds to the inclusivity and diversity of the area. Overall, the Vellore Arulmigu Ratnagiri Balamurugan Temple offers a fulfilling and spiritually enriching experience. Its historical significance, breath-taking location, and the devotion of its devotees make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a deeper connection with Hindu spirituality and culture.

Nice surrounding. Lots of sculptures on wall, like typical southern India temples. Location is good. You can reach near the temple through any vehicle paying 50 rupees. Entry fee to the room of main idol is 10 rupees. Only thing is, ticketing system could have taken outside to avoid unnecessary creation of gathering.

A calm and peaceful temple. You can drive thru or take steps which are comparatively less but steep. The temple is located above a small hill and the deity is vel murugan. They have tonsure options in which you have to token and identify yourself before and after it. Ample parking spaces and drinking water facilities are also available.
