One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to. I’ve tried the shrimp, oysters, scallops and lobster, plus a fish soup. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious, but the scallops were my favorite dish by far. As you walk in, the waiters welcome you by showing the fresh catch of the day and you can literally select the fish or other seafood you would like them to prepare for you. The wine list is extensive and my waitress was very helpful with the selection of wines that wonderfully complemented my meal. The atmosphere is quite relaxed as well. It’s not a cheap restaurant but definitely worth the money. Highly recommended.

They advertise seafood and boy do they deliver. We had some old favourites like mussels, scallops and squid tempura and they were artfully crafted. Also tried some new dishes which were amazing. Razor clams barnacles.....who would have thought. Just eating them was entertaining. Service was outstanding. Enthusiastic and helpful. We had no idea how to eat barnacles but he happily gave us a lesson. A great way to finish our stay in Porto.

We were looking for a dinner spot with fresh seafood and Ostras y Cosas has pretty good reviews. It was a Wednesday at around 7:40 and we didn’t have reservations, so the 6 of us sat around the bar. It wasn’t too bad since we were able to sit 3 on one corner and 3 on the other, which made it easier to share plates. We ordered: -Portuguese Raw Oyster – these were great. They are €2.50/piece so it’s slightly cheaper than NYC. However, if you order the 6 pieces, it’s €13.50 so it’s a pretty good deal -Crab Pate – I would skip this one. I think it was just imitation crab with lots of mayo. The toast it came with was probably better than the ‘pate’ -Scallops – I believe these were broiled, which was nice because it added flavor to it -Mussels “Provencal” – these were okay but I’m not a huge fan of mussels -Seabass – this tasted fresh and not fishy at all but look out for the tiny bones We also wanted to try the barnacles but they ran out for the day. I would say everything was okay. Nothing was bad but nothing was amazing that would make me come back or recommend it to someone.

Received food poisoning after eating here so 1 star. In terms of food the sardines were nice, tempura squid was thick battered like fish and chips. The prawns were served cold which I didn't expect and not deveined. The lobster tail was small and the scallops very small also under cooked. For 120€ meal I'd expect better

A good place for seafood Lover! Tasty and fresh seafood, good price, friendly service, what can a tourist ask for more? 🙂 o have a good memory here for my birthday, as I didn't expect to have a little cake in the end of the dinner, that's a surprise for me 🥰 I'd like to visit again when I go back to Porto ❤️

Ostras & Coisas is indeed a noteworthy spot to explore in Porto, and here's why: Positive highlights: - The service was good, and the staff's attentiveness, along with their thoughtful wine recommendations, significantly enhanced our dining experience. - The restaurant's location is well-placed, surrounded by charming places and squares that contribute to the overall ambiance. - The diverse menu caters to different preferences, offering a delightful array of dishes. Points for consideration: - I'd suggest a review of the fish soup, as my plate lacked actual fish, containing only calamari, mussels, and vegetables. Considering this, a name adjustment to "seafood soup" might better reflect the dish's contents. - Unfortunately, the stuffed crab fell short of expectations. It was overly salty, served cold (questionable freshness), and featured an excessive amount of mayonnaise in the crab filling. These considerations aim to contribute to the ongoing excellence of Ostras & Coisas by addressing specific aspects of the dining experience.

It wouldn't be a real visit to Porto if you haven't visited a seafood restaurant for for a nice meal so I chose this location for mine. I arrived the restaurant around 5 to 10 minutes before it opened, there was a lineup already Lucky I wasn't picky on seating at a particular table so I just chose the bar seat and was seated immediately without any reservation. Otherwise I would highly recommend that you make a reservation else you may have to wait for a long time. they have a wide selection of the seafood available and they will give you a description before they seated you. I chose to have a European lobster for the night and some scallop and oyster to go along. The meal was delicious and I definitely would come back again if i have a chance

The best meal we had in Porto!!! :) Everything we ordered was amazing and did not disappoint. The scallops and tempura oysters were really good. The seafood platter was very fresh and the mayonnaise went really well along with it. The service could have been a little bit warmer but it is definitely the one restaurant I would keep going back to in Porto!!

We did not have a reservations, but were able to sit at the bar area. Every dish, we order, was great. We strated with fish soup and we were in for a treat. After soup we ordered 4 different dishes and they were all amazing. We could not pick one, to say this is the best. All were so good. Very friendly service, ready to suggest food and drink. Would highly recomend to visit this place, but make a reservation. Would go again.

Glad we found this place. Seafood was fresh. Service was fantastic. They were able to accommodate our friends with allergies. Presentation of the food was also very appealing. I would definitely come back the next time I visit Porto.

We had a fantastic dinner at Ostras & Coisas. Everything we tried was delicious. The chefs don’t smother the dish in thick sauces or heavy seasoning; they let the quality of the fish speak for itself. We had prawns, zamburina (like small scallops), rock lobster, oysters and barnacles. I particularly appreciated the quick demonstration on how to separate the barnacles! Service was very professional and efficient, and there's an extensive winelist to enjoy with your dinner. We were very impressed by the overall price compared to the high quality of the dishes. I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Porto.

Great value of seafood! Normally seafood is expensive but here the price deserves! The scallop is so sweet and the seafood rice is out of expectation! It was filled with crabs, prawns and clams! I love the wine as well! Lovely and modern decoration is a plus from here!

We came on a Sunday night, sitting on the second floor, really cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The Seafood soup is outstanding, 9/10 Fish soup is also really decent, 8/10 The oysters are fresh. 8.50/10 We ordered clams in Bolha style, quite pricy (27euros) for 20 clams but the clams are fresh. Quality wise 9/10 overall 8/10. The seafood rice is literally the best we had in Porto, generous amount of seafood with a smoky flavour soup. Rice is perfectly cooked not too soft not too hard. 10/10 Overall good service, food. You get what you paid for.

Ate an excellent and varied seafood selection. On the table we found the couvert, two different types of butter and some octopus salad, all to try with different types of bread (so good that we asked for another basket) Started with oysters, then really good grilled scallops and giant prawns too! Tried the percebes (barnacles) for the first time, the waitress (Carina) was really kind in explaining how to eat them. Finished it all off with mussels Place on two floors, the first, much more informal, the upper floor more formal (with a slightly sad atmosphere). This is perhaps the only note that is a bit so-so. Quality/price - excellent!

Reservations highly recommended. We went here on a Tuesday evening but there wasn't any availability, so we were able to reserve for the next night. Everything we ordered was amazing. The gooseneck barnacles and the shrimp Mozambique style were a highlight. Service was quick and attentive, all seafood we had was very fresh and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

The prawn with garlic sauce was amazingly good I could even eat whole pieces of the prawn from head to tail!!! Seafood rice was good portion and very tasty, it made us fully satisfied. We tired one thing that we never tried before. It was Barnacles. It was very interesting texture and fresh sea water taste. It was quite delicious. It was a perfect lunch for us at Ostras & Coisas!

I limit myself to put bad reviews for exceptional places like this one. The food wasn't great, but not bad neither so maybe more than 2 stars. However, the service was lame. It was overall slow and poor. They made us wait standing for long even though there were seats available (understandable if busy). Once we were seated, it took ages for the food to arrive. One issue we had is that there was a miscommunication between the waiter and us (given language barrier) and he brought something we didn't order. A simple mistake that it is normal and no need to extrapolate. But when we told him we didn't order it, his boss overreacted and made a big deal about it to the waiter. Not pleasant to see for the poor waiter. We also asked for lemonade and they said they run out of lemons for the night. It is fine, but 2 hours later (that's how long it took for 2 people to eat), they were preparing lemonade for someone else and when we mentioned this they reacted badly, telling us that we are on holidays and we should enjoy and not care about it with a patronising tone.

This place deserves all the 1 star reviews. Oysters weren’t shucked properly - the waiter even tried to say this is the Portuguese way which is completely nonsense. Sardines weren’t cleaned and tasted bitter. Everything was sub par. Beware this is just another trap. Anyone who says the seafood is good here doesn’t know what they are talking about.

I want to shout out to the waitress for that night. What a great service. Coming from London, a place where everything is so expensive, this place is a charm to me. The quality and the freshness of the seafood are fabulous. Juicy and tender and the sweetness. The giant prawns and oysters were so good. The wine selection was excellent as well. It's definitely worth a visite

We have a great dinner in this place, we asked for the mix of crab 🦀 and oysters (all the types) as entrance and was more than enough for 3 persons. The best oysters are the ones with garlic and butter and the naturals. Good prices.

Just amazing! Food was incredible and honestly cheaper than we were expecting. We got ostrich, tuna with veggies and rice, and brownies for dessert to share. To drink we had water and a glass of wine each. Everything was extremely tasty, and the presentation was beautiful. The place per se is very pretty and nicely decorated. Service was friendly, caring and super polite. We really loved eating here and we were very happy with the service! Plus, they speak very good English. Super recommended, we will for sure eat here again when we go back to Porto :)

Really nice, fresh seafood. Kind staff, nice ambiance. Recommend to try several starters as they were all delicious. The main course, rice is really large.

First of all, the service at the restaurant was great. Nice wine selection and recommendation from the waitress. Their basket of bread was really tasty, I specifically really enjoyed the broa (Portuguese corn bread). We ordered a platter. We were interested in trying the barnacles and stuffed crab. I really enjoyed the barnacles, nice salty flavour to it - but not too much of the stuffed crab (sapateira recheada). It had an overwhelmingly strong alcohol taste to it. The rest of the seafood were just fine. We also tried some Portuguese oysters, they were very briny. We also found it unusual that the muscle was not detached from the shell. The pumpkin dessert was a let down as the cream was too heavy and flavourless and the pumpkin had a weird consistency to it. Ended the night with some nice port. Overall, a nice place to go for a fancy date but would perhaps recommend elsewhere if it’s for something casual. Also I have to say, for a nice restaurant, their toilet was pretty dirty.

We enjoyed our visit to Ostras & Coisas for a weekend lunch. The restaurant was packed and all the staff were busy when we arrived so it took some time for us to be seated. The interior of the restaurant was pretty nice. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and all of them were very tasty. My favourite is the ceviche. The restaurant does not have many tables, so I would recommend making a reservation.

Wonderful experience! Amazing atmosphere which is great for girls night out/date/gathering or even solo diner. The service staff are all passionate and making sure we'd all having fun. I have never had such Sangria! Popping the bubble on the table making this simple drink one of our best one in life! Food is fresh and wonderfully seasoned. A shout out to Caternia who is definitely the highlight of the night! Definitely coming back!

Loved Ostras e Coisas. Went twice during my trip to Porto. On both occasions I had the fresh raw oysters & a glass of the Douro sparkling wine and it was fabulous. Staff were lovely and very friendly. The space is really bright and clean, and it was lovely to sit at the ice counter. Would definitely recommend, and will be back when I’m next in Porto.

The photos on Google all looked promising, but in reality, the food was not as expected. The stuffed crab was OK to be fair. However, it was a little heavy on the mayonnaise, covering all of its natural flavouring. The seafood rice was too salty, they did replace with another one, however, the dish did not wow. A bit of lemon did the trick, but this dish, in my opinion needs some revamping. The fish stock is all I could taste. Personal suggestion, the chef could have removed the intestines from the prawns before cooking. . The lady there gave great service, but the guy upstairs serving, let's say there's massive room for improvement in how he serves the food, interacting with customers would be a nice start.

We went out with our friends to get a taste of local sea food. We decided to chose this spot recommended on Trip Advisor. We had pretty high expectations because the pictures were quite impressive. And this place delivered in 110%. It occured to be the best place that we got to eat in while travelling around Portugal. The spot is beautiful and elegant, the sea food and fish was fresh and sweet, and what we found the most exciting about this whole experience was the service- Sir Sergio O. great thanks to you for professionalism, food recommendations and making this evening such a tasty and joyful time. Highly recommened!!

Good fresh seafood in Porto. The bread was offered as a great starter, fresh oysters and amazing shrimp, though the crab was not so great (maybe not my type)

Sea food rice for €23 is kinda pricey for me (probably I had one in Lisbon for €17 with many kinda sea food in it and better soup😋), it’s a big portion though, the taste of it is nice, I love the rice inside, if you prefer hard rice, definitely try it!

Wonderful restaurant! I came there alone and sat at the bar. The waiters are beyond friendly. Very attentive and caring. I tried oysters for the first time, one waiter patiently answered all my questions and explained how to eat it properly. As the main course I got the shrimps Mosambik style I think it was called. Excellent! They were halved and the grilled. One of the best meals with shrimp I’ve ever had. As a dessert I got the brownie with tangerine ice cream, it was ok, not mind blowing but decent. The vibe was nice, good music, super clean. I’ll come again’nn

High quality seafood and very honest waiter. He recommended us just enough amount of food, instead of letting us over order and end up wasting. We enjoyed our last meal at Portugal very much.

  • 4/5 Monica M. 2 years ago on Google
Very very tasty food and a very nice restaurant! However, the wait is very long and we found the portions to be quite small, so a bit too expensive for how much food you get. And of course, you have couvert de table waiting for you on the table and have to pay for it.

One of the best place to eat seafood in Porto. The seafood plater are very tasty and we had some lovely barnacles crabs and shrimps. They all tasty very fresh. The side dishes such as bread, small appetisers are completely free and tap water are provided. The grilled clams also taste fresh. Great table service and great value. Will come back if back in Porto

Came here for dinner tonight. I got two dishes: Small fried sardines with lemon Spicy Prawns Get the spicy prawns and you won't regret it. It was the best of two dishes I ate. If you come hungry and with a group. The mix and match platters sound like a great opportunity to share and try tons of different items. Cute spot for a date night.

The food was delicious. I loved the seafood rice. The small portion in the menu itself was good enough for two persons. The calamari tempura was a bit oily. I didn’t like that one. The roasted butter oysters was amazing. Fish soup was yummy. Overall the food was delicious and the waitress really helped us to choose the right meal. You need to have reservations to find a table.

Relaxing and calming environment with friendliest service. Every dish I tried was delicious and beyond. The clams, prawns, oysters and scallop with caviar! I wanted to order more, sadly couldn’t eat any more. Table bread with butters and spicy octopus were just amazing. I have to go back there again!

An exquisite seafood dinner in a fancy restaurant. I could feel the sea taste in these delicious oyster and the waiter was so friendly that he tried to speak our home language. It could've been slightly more ventilated upstairs but other than that I was very satisfied with the experience.

Went there on a busy Friday evening without a reservation, they kindly put me on the bar. For seafood fan like me, this is seventh heaven. I told the bar tender that I need to leave within an hour for a concert, and he helped me with the order, recommended the wine and managed to sent me on my way extremely happy in good time. Highly recommend to have a reservation because over the course of the meal I saw so many people got turned away.
