Hmmm any one arriving Addis Ababa should have to see Entoto park, the marvellous view at the northern vicinity of the city. Especially at nigh, the stars, propably if you are lucky the moon on the clear sky, Addis Ababa at the bottom, the healing breeze, sounds of trees resembling an orchestra etc. No words just arrive and feel it!

Well, this is the best place to me so far in Addis. From here the best horizon view of Addis can be seen. This is a perfect place for nature lovers. Hiking is allowed so far I heard and obviously it is a great place to hike. If someone wants to see the Addis through binocular, better to bring Coin. But the coin is available to the Photographer and they charge 30 Birr per coin. There are restaurant and coffee shops as well.

A great place to spend the whole day. Either you walk or cicle on paved roads through the park (routes up to 10km) and enjoy the eucalyptus forest, you can have fun at climbing forest, zip lining, trampoline Park or archery or you only relax and enjoy yourself in one of a few restaurants. Perfect to spend a whole day with the family. Entrence is free, additional costs for fun activities and restaurants. Plastic bottles are not allowed to bring. Inside of the park an many small shops where you can buy drinks and snacks.

This is a pleasant park for long walks. Quiet but starting to get some beggers. Restaurants are reasonable. I'd not go alone, while there are police stationed throughout the park there are a number of acces gates and long stretches of isolation.

Paris syndrome applies here. Park has entry fees for locals, TR holders as well as foreigners starting from 200ETB to 500 USD. Take your own food, coffee and eat/ drink inside. No affordable eateries. Beware of photograghers. They FORCE to take your photographs. They kill your quality family time and put hole to your pocket. Best time to visit is morning. Don't expect more than a forest with a jogging track.

The Entoto Natural Park. I've read some comments and reviews about the species of trees not being native to the place and it not being natural and what not, but I'm really jealous of such a place existing. My only down side is that I had to pay a 1000 birr fee as a foreign national without a diplomatic passport and that covers only entrance. It rained heavily on the day I visited so that took away some part of the fun. There are many activities available on site. From horseback riding, ziplining, paintballing and many other activities. Signature to every Ethiopian space is the availability of food vendors and cafes on site. There are numerous food vendors, cafes and snack stands at Entoto and you get to tryout anything you want, from Ethiopian coffee to any Ethiopian dish. A stroll through the park is very healing and calm and I urge everyone to try this out when you visit Ethiopia or if you're there. The silence and calmness of the park is really intriguing and sends you into a peaceful state. If you have a bike, it is highly recommended as it will enhance your experience. I loved my visit here and I encourage everyone to visit the park. P.S. send lots of cash if you want to try out everything you see over there.

A really excellent walking (and hiking if you're adventurous enough to cut through the woods) experience just on the outskirts of Addis. The park is very big, super well maintained, clean, with walking and cycling paths all over, and dotted with cafés and benches to rest. A must-do and probably the best addition to Addis in the last 10 years. Entrance free.

I was so excited to see Entoto after reading all the reviews. You can imagine my surprise at finding that the pride of Addis is a forest of Eucalyptus and Black Wattle. Both indigenous only to Australia. Any true nature lover will have their heart ripped out. The park is poorly signposted or not signposted at all and full of half built or half destroyed infrastructure. Throughout the entire 3 hour hike I heard loud wailing coming from speakers from different directions that echoed off the hillsides and permeated the valleys. I couldn’t wait to get out.

The place is good for stretching your limbs while walking between anticlimactic destination points. However, the development stretches over a large piece of land and one would expect the integration of the original residents/ local people participating on the activities there. But one of the rare events when you see the local people/ residents of the area is when they/ women cross the development carrying fire wood on their backs from one side of the development to the other on a foot path that is untreated/ undeveloped and obscured by over paths.

The most amazing views of Addis I’ve ever seen! There are so many fun activities to choose from as well as an array of restaurants and cafes. The natural environment is well preserved and taken care of, perfect place for admirers of nature
