The Gulbarga Fort is located in Gulbarga City in the Gulbarga district of North Karnataka. It was subsequently significantly enlarged in 1347 by Al-ud-din Hasan Bahmani of the Bahmani Dynasty after he cut off his ties with the Delhi Sultanate; Islamic monuments such as mosques, palaces, tombs, and other structures were also built later within the refurbished fort. The Jama Masjid built later, within the fort, in 1367, is a unique structure built in Persian architectural style, fully enclosed, with elegant domes and arched columns, which is unlike any other mosque in India. It was built to commemorate the establishment of the dynastic rule of the Bahmani kingdom at Gulbarga fort between 1327 and 1424. It remained the capital of the Bahmani Kingdom till 1424 where after the capital was shifted to Bidar Fort, as Bidar had better climatic conditions.

Isolated place, less crowd. That means u can sit calm and enjoy the evening breeze. Visited during November month, so climate was good. No restrictions in the place, you can wander wherever you want. Needs proper upkeep, must be maintained in good shape for future generations to see. Govt. is not interested in that i think 🤔

(Translated by Google) Buddha Vihara Statue of Buddha: This statue is made of 400 punch metal. Gold coated by it. The 70-acre, 32,450-square-foot home, has made news all over the country. This magnificent yacht cost Rs 8 crore. Excursion sculptures resemble those of Ajanta and Ellora. 170 pillars stand as the basis for this excursion. On the first floor of the Vihara are two Buddha statues featuring exquisite carvings. On the ground floor, you can see a six foot tall Buddha statue of a black idol. The Vihara ground is large enough for about two thousand devotees to sit down and pray. The statue of Lord Buddha sitting here is also very attractive. The pillars are placed in four directions, similar to Asoka's. There are six entrances to this excursion. GULBARGA BUDDHA VIHAR Buddhism with Gulbarga's association dates back to the 3rd and 4th century BC. Buddha Vihar is one such attraction that depicts the place in the Bygone era. Right next to the Gulbarga University, in the outskirts, is the Buddha Vihar. The massive six-foot idol of Buddha here is out of black and has a glossy finish. There are also the smiling Buddha of gold-plated idols with his disciples, Anand and Kashyap, which have been imported from Bangkok. The intricately carved doors add to the beauty of the place. There is a museum, guest houses, a dining hall and an auditorium inside the temple complex. The temple complex is built on an area of 75 acres and has a main structure with a resemblance to the Ajanta and Ellora sculptures. #HOW TO REACH: You get buses from CENTRAL BUS STAND KALABURAGI, FROM SUPER MARKET, direct bus facility is there, it costs below 20 RS BEST TIME TO GO 10:00 AM TO 5:00 pm (Original) The area is vast and too big. The fort is old and was built during the rule of Nizam ruler Adil Shah. It has Jamia Mazjid inside. There is a long cannon placed imside teh fort which is worth visiting once. Although the maintenance is poor and there os lot of scope for the same. The place has a potential to generate revenues and be a tourist spot with proper maintenance.

One of the attractive tourist place than any other places in Gulbarga(Kalaburgi) in the state of Karnataka. The fort was originally built in 1347,in the Gulbarga district in north karnataka. This fort is one of the finest example of ancient islamic architecture. There is a Jama Masjid later built inside the fort in persian architecture style. It is also reconized a national monument by archelogical dept.of india. Those are who wants to go to there they reach by bus or train.

Beautiful monument of great importance, must see during a visit to Gulbarga Don't miss a world-famous canon that is placed on one of the fort walls (no clear directions, but it falls to the right of the jama masjid if you are facing the entrance, some locals might have climbed up the wall, indicating the location) There are some ancient quarters built but has become a slum area now, needs to be taken up for preservation. Due to covid or just negligence, most parts of the fort were closed, including the jama masjid. And there are no officials or guards to provide any information. Such a grand monument yet maintenance of area, staffing and even approach road condition is pathetic.

Buddha Vihar is a spiritual center and a Buddhist temple located in Gulbarga, Karnataka. It is part of the esteemed group of Buddhist temples and healing centres. The Vihar is located in a tranquil area in Gulbarg, a city also known by the name of Kalaburagi. Gulbarga city is the headquarter of the Gulbarga district too. Buddha Vihar is a place of worship for Buddhists and is famed for its peaceful nature and the serene tranquil that it tends to offer to the worshippers. This Buddha Vihar is located in Gulbarga, Karnataka and was established back in 7th January 2007. It features pretty artistic designs and has an exemplary blend of architectural aspect integrated within. Furthermore Buddhist centers like Sanchi, Sarnath, Nagpur, and Ajanta were also made on the same scale as of it and on the same inspiration model. The place is a very good hub for rejuvenating ourselves and can be a fruitful getaway to achieve the mindfulness and bliss that we seek so much. In a hectic life as of these days, getting such a serene vicinity is a pleasure not found elsewhere. The place that it is in Gulbarga itself is a great place and has nice places and plentiful of religious places around. The place also has a fort and more adding grace to the city of Gulbarga. Buddha Vihar is one of the foremost places where you can seek homage in finding the better in you, in seeking the best bit of brain and body functioning and everything towards mindfulness.

The fort is big and security towers are intact at some places. At the main entrance side there's a big structure with impressive ruins but it was closed due to covid as of dec 29th 2020. At the other side of the gate, many people are living inside the fort and due to the open drainage and defecation it's smelling a lot.Nobody is bothered to preserve this ancient structure and there's a flag hoisting tower in the middle of the fort for a fantastic view of the fort ruins from the top of it.

Gulbarga now it is called Kalaburagi is located in the northern Karnataka, good tourist place as its one of the oldest fort build in 1347 it also has Jama Masjid inside the fort built in unique structure of Persian architectural style, giving 4 stars because of the maintenance issue, beautiful fort is not maintained properly, it is collapsing day by day and no one to look after, I would request government body to look in to it as its heritage of Kalaburagi and India. Overall wonderful structure by bahamani’s .
