Yum! I my first ox tails in years. Will definitely be back for more. They were cooked to perfection. There's also a really great selection of grocery items and hard to find produce. Update. I got curry goat this time! Oh my, yum! Best decision I made today.

Stopped in for lunch as I was heading to treasure island. Nice little Jamaican joint for food and groceries. I ordered the small curry chicken and a beef patty. The dude came out later and said they ran out of curry chicken, so that was a bummer. I went with the curry goat and he gave it to me for the same price, which was great. Friendly guy too. Came with a dough ball and a plantain. In my opinion, the goat was cooked perfectly, but the cook used a little too much curry powder. The sauce was a tad grainy. Other than that the whole platter was awesome. I also got a drink next door of homemade sorrel, which was both healthy and delicious. I sat outside on a Sunday and noticed many Jamaicans stopping in to pick up some lunch. So if they coming here, you know it's good. Ill be coming back again when I'm in the area.

Honestly the food is mid. Most of the time its not hot when you receive it, the food is not seasoned that well, food taste plain. You can be at work, call in your order 30 minutes before break, go on break, arrive to the restaurant and your food will still not be ready. The service there is not at all exceptional. You will not be greeted. You can stand there, thinking you’re waiting your turn and no one will acknowledge you knowing you just walked in. The cashiers just stare at you. You’re always talked to with an attitude. I just definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Purchase the jerk pork meal with cabbage and rice. the cabbage was cooked and seasoned just right and yet had the crisp of freshly picked vegetable. Ate the whole thing wish I had more as I write this review. Delicious. the people who worked there were courteous and friendly. I definitely go there again and you should too.

I haven't came here in years. I ordered brown stew chicken with boiled banana n white yam, dumpling a side of cabbage,1 festival, 1 conch fritter and three drinks(sorrel, carrot,Irish moss) the gentleman charged me $42.02. I walk out no cabbage. I go back and he states he never charged so I paid $3.62. I get home. I have no yam. The festival hard as a rock, fritter greasy as hell like it was just sitting there. My carrot drink sour as it was bo good. Very unhappy. The customer service was awesome.

If you are looking for authentic, delicious Caribbean food…specifically Jamaican, this is the spot! It’s really just set up for “to go” although there is minimal seating outside. Dishes come with rice n peas, dumplin and plantain. We got Jerk Chicken and Curried Chicken, both were excellent. They are building a Caribbean grocery store right next door. The staff is kind and the clientele is diverse.

Foods OK. Service is not so great, woman seemed to have an attitude about the VERBIAGE I used to pick up my ONLINE order through ubereats because she initially gave me the wrong food. I didn’t order an ATTITUDE along with my food, so I won’t be back.

Order the fish and it was 👍🏾. Large portions. Great vibe with live music and a grocery store with all the essentials for Caribbean cooking.

Horrible service. Female workers definitely loathe their job. Rude everytime you pointed out she overcharged us for a grocery item, instead of thanking us for politely bringing it to her attention. She kissed her teeth and rolled her eyes at us before putting the actual corrected change due us on the counter as opposed to in her hand. She refused to get Leo for us and laughed in our face! Leo is always warmly welcoming us. This is not a positive face /image portrayed by your staff for business overall. But this young girl was horrendous and we will now spend our money elsewhere.

Definitely enjoyed my food. Wait, time for picking up my food was long. However, the young lady who waited on me was apologetic, and her demeanor and politeness made it better. I ordered a stew snapper. It was made different than I ever had with okra but delicious. The dumpling was a nice touch. The rice and peas were good, but whew a lot lol would rather have more vegetables, but overall, it was a great experience.

You know, you gotta be used to just laid back women. Because this place is really simple. I wouldn't have never known about it if I hadn't of same and article online and then pick app Ben and Uber driver. Southern fair island fair Lord, you will not be disappointed

Absolutely the best Jamaican cuisine I have found all over Tampa bay. Highly recommended. Brittney is amazing to deal with, if you’re looking for Jamaican food look no further

On our trip through Florida we decided to go here for a relaxed dinner. We were not disappointed. Tasty food, & friendly staff. If I lived in the area we'd be regulars. I bought jerk marinade instead. We had cow bone soup, grilled fish, and shrimp pasta. From the soup to the seasoned rice & the fish and pasta sauce, everything was tasty.

Decided to try this Jamaican restaurant. Order 3 Mini plate pepper stake curry, chicken jerk chicken.... The curry chicken and jerk chicken were good. The only criticism I got was. The pepper steak was a little bit overcooked They need to work on that. We did take out because there was no seating inside looks like renovating. The establishment with new seating, so there is nowhere to sit right now.

Just finished our first dinner from Taste Of The Islands. The food was great. We had two chicken dishes and one pork. All excellent! I highly recommend the brown sauce dishes and the Mac and Cheese! I’m on to the plantains now but taking a break to write this review. I‘ll be ordering again soon!

Food is delicious. The young man who is sometimes there is very friendly and makes you feel welcome, however the very pretty young lady is not as welcoming. The price is a bit on the high side, however it is a nice treat for my husband usually weekly.

Heard about this spot from a co-worker. He said the oxtails we're the bomb...they were! Oxtails, rice n peas, plantains and a dumpling with roti on the side. Large servings for a decent price. Food was spiced perfectly. Everything was so tasty that I came the next day to try the roti and curry goat. Can't wait to bring my Wife. We will most certainly become regulars.😍

Nice restaurant tucked away within a local community grocery store. Food was tasty & well priced. I enjoyed an oxtail lunch plate, and my coworker dined on brownstew chicken. We were both highly satisfied with our choices, as we sat at once of the interior tables.

Don't be in a hurry at this place.. remember you're on island time... And of course they're super busy because they're really good! If you can overlook that, you will be in for a delicious surprise. The wings were absolutely amazing they had just the right amount of jerk Caribbean flavors... Can't wait to go back and try the snapper and other dishes.

On the way back from the airport I thought I could treat my sister and her family to some Jamaican food so we asked professor google and was directed here. The food (festival and fish fritter) was greasy, we ended up throwing out the fried dumplings because they tasted as if they had turned (were spoiled). In addition to being dripping with grease the festival had way too much sugar in it, so sweet it was more as if it was a pastry,

This place has gone down. Customer service is poor. Still a decent variety of some authentic island tings. They used to carry a quality brand of Glow sea moss and now have some fake looking Irish moss on the shelf. The restaurant takes very long to prep food, even calling ahead it takes an hour. The owners are kind but not sure why things are going down hill. Sadly, won’t be shopping here for a long while.

After reading mixed reviews I decided to give this place a try. Not good at all I ordered the jerk chicken and curry goat combo somehow curry sauce was covered over both entrees and also jerk pork which was very bland to say the least. As always I ordered 2 spicy beef patties just in case the meal is not good and they tasted as if they had been in the warmer a bit too long very dry and hard as well. If I'm in the area again I'd like to try it again as I did stop in around 8 so maybe I didn't get the freshest food

It was early morning, the sign showed they were open. This is a restaurant on one side and a open store on the other. They were just putting food on warmers, I asked if the food was fresh. The elderly lady said yes but it was clear this was food from the day before. I order a jerk patty which was a bit spicy for me and a drink. She took the patty out the warmer I felt it and asked that it be warmed up. The patty was delicious, I wanted another one but I had already left the parking lot. I will go back at a later day to try their food.

Got food yesterday. Never had worst oxtails, Didnt taste clean or seasoned. The fish was super dry and literally smelt really weird n like they tried to cover it w other stuff. Couldn’t enjoy and will not finish leftovers. Sides were ok

I had the lunch special, chicken and shrimp with vegetables and can't say that it was over-the-top amazing. I was hoping for more Caribbean flavor and had to use a liberal amount of pepper sauce. I'm not giving up hope so. I will go back and try the jerk chicken at some point. Other people seem to really enjoy this place
