Why would you want to go to Costa when you could come here? Superb small coffee shop run by, what looked like surfer dudes ( one of them must use so much hair spray!). Great coffee and cakes, nice atmosphere albeit looked like a mother and baby class had finished and they had all descended to Steampunk! Coffee portion size was just right. Seating area also outside. Stylish toilet. If ever in North Berwick again, we will be back.

Wanted somewhere that would welcome me and my dogs - the reviews were spot on - lovely flat white, delicious granola and my three dogs were welcomed with a bowl of water and a dog treat each. Highly recommend - lovely atmosphere and fabulous staff. Thank you.

This place has character. Yes this is just off the main street next to a car park. Don't be fooled. It is better than the Costa for feel factor alone. Great service. Good coffee and tea. Surprisingly good sized menu for food. Staff very friendly. I was surprised at so many staff were working mid week. It was busy so that tells me all. Great outside area to sit in sun in the morning and lunch time. This had seating and tables upstairs. Toilets very clean.

From photos it looks like this place does savoury bites and toasties however when I came they only did cakes and drinks. The space is large with unused space near the back area and there were 5 staff behind the counter, more than equipped to do simple sandwiches and bites to eat. Coffee was sour unfortunately and banana bread very standard like from the supermarket. This place leaves much to be desired with mediocre drinks and food.

Still the lovely staff and great atmosphere but, now no savoury or hot food - just coffee and cake - why ?? Cake was however good.

Great coffee and place. Had tried their roasts before at other venues and it's been consistently very good but this was the first time to HQ.Visited out a cycle and they were really welcoming and have a good tap for filling up water bottles too. Nice courtyard to sit in the nice weather.

Why people bother with corporate coffee like Costa when this place exists is beyond me! Steampunk do the best coffee on North Berwick without question. The alsonriadt their own beans....usually a sign of excellence in my experience. I got a flat white which was the perfect temperature and tasted strong but smooth and silky. Just how it should. A review from someone else commented on the small sizes of the drinks. The drinks are the right size (and the measurements are on the menu as well) but that review should be deleted and they should go to Costa's page and complain that they serve cups of coffee so big they need 2 handles to lift it to your mouth! I've not tried the food at steampunk....yet ...but it looks amazing. Oh,and £2.80 for a perfect flat white is a bargain too. They could easily charge more for what they do

Fantastic coffee and a great chill atmosphere- knowledgeable staff when asking about the taste of the different beans and great to see the roasting process happening in the background.

Great to have the indoor seating back on the ground floor in time for Autumn. Flat white was super, as was the banana bread and Portugese tarts. I feel a bit bad about the use of paper cups etc., and prefer the taste of coffee in a cup but Covid I guess.

A lovely little café indeed in a steampunk-ish style. I recommend their almond croissants, they were absolutely brilliant.

Excellent coffee. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. I was there on a weekday, but the coffee shop is combined with a recordstore and a pizza ‘place’ on weekends. Looks promising.

My favourite coffee. The cake selection is not usually very wide but I'm there for coffee first and foremost, and whilst good options are limited the quality is good. It's impossible for me to leave without a bag of beans.

Great coffees and cakes with fantastic service. A nice selection of coffees to purchase as well as other merch. Will definitely be back here.

The cutest and friendliest coffee shop around. Sure, maybe there are some that are just as cute and just as friendly, but none can surpass Steampunk. Delicious coffee that they roast themselves. Add a croissant or tart and you are ready for your day. Check out the record store upstairs, too. No wonder the music playing inside is so great.

My favourite coffee place on the east coast. Have been going here for years on my visits. Beautiful location and awesome team with great ethos. Always have steampunk on rotation in my coffee cupboard at home. Delicious coffee and tasty sweet treats.

We have been adoring the coffee at Steampunk since it was on Forth st. The standard of experience is based in the quality of what they produce. Now roasting their beans and successfully catering to a huge number of locals and visitors this is the best coffee for miles. The current building has been saved and turned into a landmark of the town, something we should all be very grateful for

We really enjoyed the great coffee and cakes. Steampunk has Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The best bit was the disco themed Pizza party.

After placing an order I left a note saying I wasn't sure on the style of coffee needed for a gift. Rachel was in touch with me shortly after to advise and giving in-depth information about what the different styles are and how best to use them! Incredibly friendly and amazing service thank you!

Delicious coffee, very pleasantly surprised to find such quality in a quiet seaside town! We had it to go and had coffee on the beach, pure bliss… the inside of the place looked really cozy as well, would definitely go back if I visit North Berwick again.

Hidden gem! One of the best roasters in Scotland I've found. Don't get coffee anywhere else in North Berwick. This is craft at its best. Keep up the good work!

Amazing café and roastery in North Berwick! It's worth going there to taste amazing flavours!

I visited here a month ago. The coffee was excellent and I love the fact that they grind their own beans. Would have got 5 stars but I was attracted by the Steampunk name and was looking forward to seeing the steampunk theme in action - costumes etc but there was none. Just a neon frame round a bicycle. Little bit disappointing.
