The
White
Nile,
from
its
Lake
Victoria
source
at
Jinja,
flows
into
the
shallow
Lake
Kyoga
and
into
Murchison
Falls
National
Park,
cutting
the
Park
into
north
and
south.
From
Murchison,
the
river
flows
into
Lake
Albert
and
turns
northerly
out
of
Uganda
into
Southern
Sudan.
The
Nile
is
synonymous
with
the
stunning
Murchison
Falls
Park
-
biggest
of
all
Uganda
parks;
in
the
Park,
the
river
pours
its
millions
of
litres
through
a
breathtaking
7
meters
gap
in
the
rocks,
at
Murchison
Falls,
@
300
cubic
meters
per
second
-
dropping
43
metres
into
the
gorge
below.
A
Nile
Boat
cruise
is
offered
to
the
bottom
of
the
falls,
with
en-route
sights
of
hippos,
buffaloes,
crocodiles
and
various
bird
species;
on
arrival,
one
gets
to
enjoy
a
rewarding
nature
walk
to
the
top
of
the
falls.
The
park
is
made
up
of
woodland,
wetland,
savannah
and
tropical
forest;
it
is
a
habitant
for
over
76
mammal
species,
including
elephant,
Rothschild’s
giraffe,
warthog,
Cape
buffalo,
Uganda
kob
and
hartebeest;
in
the
river,
you
get
hippos
and
the
largest
concentration
of
Nile
crocodiles
in
the
world.
A
birder’s
paradise,
the
Park
has
over
450
bird
species
unique
to
each
of
the
habitats;
its’
Nile
corridor
has
a
big
collection
of
water
birds,
including
the
rare
pre-historic
looking
shoebill
stork.
Activities
including
game
drives,
boat
rides
and
spot
fishing;
the
sizes
of
the
Nile
perch
in
this
region
are
epic.
