This is known as Shaheedi well. To escape the Jalianwala bagh massacre on 13th April 1919, people jumped into the well. About 120 dead bodies were retrieved from the well. Currently the well is covered from all sides. Do not throw things or money into the well.

This is a deep well located in the premises of the Jallianwala Bagh complex. When the cowardly British Brigadier-general Reginald Dyer ordered the indiscriminate firing, on a peaceful crowd that had congregated to celebrate the Baisakhi festival, several of the crowd jumped into the well in a vain bid to escape the firing. Records establish that 120 dead bodies were recovered from this well later...

Old vs new look. Prefer the old. It was a remembrance of what happened. The new look happens to be modern. More of garden, rather loosing the plot. But still it's a must visit to know the brutal history and what past we come from.

A must place to visit when in Amritsar, it is in side the Jaliawala Bagh. A nostalgic & patriotic feeling one gets after seeing the martyr's well, bullet marks, light and sound program and best the memorial built in memory of people who laid thier lives to get Independence to our country. You can feel what a cost, people sacrificed for our freedom. Love this place.

It's an amazing place. A tribute to 1919 jaliawala baag Martyrs. This park is now newly developed there are more gallary area they made in side the park. Where you can see the pictures of the jaliawala baag in those days and story behind it. Previously it has one entrence area and the same area I used for the exit. But no they isolate both now exit area is open up in the market area. Earlier there was no ticket system but looks like in the future they are planning a token system same a metro. Enterance also they chane notify can see the pictures on the walls. More green area and we'll maintained. Seriously I loved this place and it's just walkable distance from the golden temple. And you can cover this within 1 hr.

Very near to Golden temple. It opens by 8AM and closes at 6PM. Not much crowded. It was closed for years due to renovation. Now its beautifully renovated restoring all historical spots. As name says, they have literally made it a beautiful 'Bagh'. All facilities like RO drinking water, good maintained restroom, directions are provided. It was actually very needed as it's 100yr old historic place with lots of emotions. Many Galleries are made with projectors projecting the stories of what had happened then. Galleries also have pictures of many real heroes, original news paper headlines on that tragic day, remains etc with clear depiction. Also, the Well where victims jumped was rotting before without maintenance. But now it's restored and border has been built with glass dome cover. They have provided foundation and strengthened the wall where bullet marks are still present. Also, each bullet mark is named in a wooden plaque and marks are border lined. The memorial built is now fenced and repainted. Totally it deserved to get renovated and it's justified now. Dont forget to visit when you go to Amritsar as it doesn't take much time of yours.

After Golden temple😍 this place is d most tourist attractions place. It has d history of brutial rules of🇬🇧 British Empire. The grill mesh-covered well at Jallianwala Bagh is d place where 😢hundreds of innocent, unarmed men, women & children jumped to escape from d bullets fired by 💂‍♀️General Dyer's men ( British) in April 13 1919. Still how ever visiting this place recall🤔 about d massacre which is marked as one of d leading causes toward India’s freedom🇮🇳.

This is a tragic Well where people sacrificed their life in order to not killed by Heartless Bustard General Dyer and save the nation's pride. It is covered by glass. Lots of people throw offerings in the well to pay tribute to martyrs.

You can have goosebumps visiting this place. Please read the history before entering here. I could hear many people saying " just a dry well......" Please take your children and tell them the story so they can know our history. Worth watching. It's near the main Gurudwara. After you come out a lane full of shops. Do remember to bargain when buying suits and dupattas...

Place where the freedom fighters fell into well when there was uninformed firing of bullets . The history says that, freedom fighters thought that ,it was better to die jumping to well and commit suicide than getting killed by the British people. Almost 120 bodies of Martyrs were recovered after the incident.

This well, located inside the premises of the Jallianwala Bagh, stands testimony to the brutal killings of innocent who jumped into it in panic to save themselves from the firing. 120 dead bodies were later recovered from the well.

Beautiful renovation and the light and music show was very informative and intriguing. Must visit and attend the show which starts at 815 pm (Hindi version). Do visit this place before sunset to enjoy the rest of the bagh, as you won't be allowed to move around during the light and music show. And as soon as the show ends, the place is closed and you are asked to exit.

Post renovation, Jalliyanwala Bagh has turned out really well. The art galleries, the cleanliness and the most amazing light and sound show were all awesome.

The sordid tale of ultimate cruelity and inerasable blot on the face of Erstwhile British Empire whose one General O Dyer in the heady hautiness of unbridled power ,impunity and barbarity opening fire on unarmed peacefully protesting Sikhs and other citizens for the atroticities committed on Indian Patriotic fighters against Black laws .. And forcing the women ,children and men to jump into the well as their was no exist to save them.from barrage of bullets The fire 🔥 that started that day cost the British Empire very dear Ultimately they had to leave our country in utter disgrace.. Despite publicly apologising for this heinous act ,the world has not forgiven them till date Peace to the martyrs ..🙋 They live through us 💧💧♥️ Vande Matram 🇮🇳🙏

The Shaheedi well which itself tells the haunting story of Jallianwala bagh massacre . But after reconstructing it lost its value. Earlier there were above 25 bulletin marks on this wall. Now they just modified it and ruined its true form. The inside walls were painted.. outside walls been extended 😑 actually they ruined the Jallianwala bagh memorial.
