It was my first trip to Madpackers Amritsar, and was a smooth stay. Location could be a bit intimidating at first, but it’s safe and very close to the golden temple. I stayed in a 4 bed superior dorm, which was neat and clean. Fresh sheets, clean washrooms and everything was working. The terrace was really nice to hang out at night, and the staff is also polite and helpful. They also have a kitchen where you can cook which was great. Would recommend 100%

Good hostel. Very close to the golden temple inside the old city s narrow alleyways. Only two/three wheeler access. Clean, with all basic facilities that good hostels offer. But being in Amritsar, you are never away from an eatery and this will not be a deal breaker. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable pricing too.

Amazing Hostel with very clean and colourful dorms and rooms. There is a beautiful rooftop with a view on the whole city. Also a shared kitchen to cook your own food and a common room where to chill and watch movies on a big screen. But what makes this place outstanding is the kindness and help of the staff, it's always nice to be somewhere where you feel welcomed and can count on people.

Though the hostel located in interiors, it's easy to find. Instead of going to hotel and get cheated, it's always better to prefer hostel. Staff (Shiva) was very friendly, interactive and helpful. Thank you for the hospitality. Rooms were very clean. The place is small but it's well maintained. Chilling out on the terrace during night is the best part.

We booked the deluxe room here. Spacious room with comfortable bed and AC & fan. Hot water supply available. Ventilation was missing in the room as there are no windows. Service is good, the staff was very courteous. Whether it was helping us with our luggage or answering our queries, they were quite sweet to respond to us patiently everytime. Location..while very close to golden temple is in a bit cramped up area. Not a big drawback...works well for those who are looking for budget stay. The bunker beds inside the premises also looked good.

I was looking for a hostel to stay in amritsar and booked after seeing the pictures. The stay was really good the place is only 600 mts from golden temple. The beds are really comfortable and neat. The whole place is very well maintained and clean. If you are looking for hostel look no further this is the best place. The host was also very warm welcoming and friendly.

I visited the place for the first time and it was amazing. Just the location is a bit intimidating at first, but it is at a walking distance to Golden Temple. The dorms are available at a very cheap rate. The staff is also very polite. And the safety of the luggage is at par. It has a beautiful terrace to hang out with friends. They also provide a kitchen for you to prepare anything you want. All in all it is value for money with everything at its place that one requires. My stay there was pleasant. I don't know if the price for female dorm matches the installations, I have had an entire rooms for nearly that price. The service was really nice and attentive though!

Place & Rooms were good, The best part is the cafeteria of this place, they offer awesome food to have. Location is average but the only thing which disappointed to me was power cut during my stay and they have just inverter no generator was there. Other than this power backup issue. I loved the place & dealing person. They were so cooperative.place is recommended but power cut can be the issue if you are visiting there in summer season. m Must try their Poha & Smoothies.

Splendid place. I was a bit apprehensive about the place initially getting there because the entrance and street it is on looks a bit dodgy but the staff are lovely, the rooms are decent and clean and the atmosphere was great. Met some lovely people there and had great chats whilst chilling on the roof top. Enjoyed my short time there. As a solo female, unfortunately the female dorm was booked up by the time I reserved so I had to get a mixed 4 bed dorm but didn’t feel unsafe. Everyone is a great sport. No issues whatsoever. Everyone was respectful and tidy :)

Highly recommend to stay at this place. Everything is walkable be it Golden Temple, JWB, Partition museum. The host of the this hostel were amazing. Shiva is an amazing cook must try his masala chai and the tour to Attari border is great as well organised by the hostel. Highly recommend and will stay here every time I visit Amritsar

The staff is super nice! They're very friendly and willing to help. We went on the border tour with vikky which was also really fun, we even went to an Indian wedding! And the next day vikky gave me a tuktuk driving lesson which was amazing. The only thing was that we were very cold in the night and couldn't find someone to ask for an extra blanket.

Had a great stay here. Their private rooms were much nicer than we've experienced at other hostels and quite cheap. It's very centrally located, just a 10 minute walk to the Golden temple. They gave us lots of advice on where to eat and what to see. We also did the border ceremony with them which was cool.

Dorms are clean, staff is helpful, the stay feels very easy as everything is at place. I would recommend Madpackers. The best part I liked about is they have luggage room which can be used after you check out if in case you have your bus or train later in evening or at night. Good vibes.

Beautiful place if you want to stay in Amritsar. It’s at the perfect location in the heart of the city, in market. The place is huge stored building. Really beautifully decorated. They have dormitory system. There are varieties in the dorm. You can also book private room which is also very beautiful. The view from the top roof is really good surrounded by old buildings of Amritsar. You can meet many travellers there and have a good time. They also have common room where there is projector, wifi, speakers, games, instruments, they have common kitchen too. The best part is it’s very close to The Golden temple. You can walk there easy to walk there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thankyou.

I stayed for two nights. The rooms are ac and clean, comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Helped to buy bus ticket, to get laptop for some urgent work and give good recommendation for food. Not really far from the centre area, but in quite alley.

If you enjoy sleeping on a thin, hard bed then this is the place for you. Private rooms were expensive for the quality of amenities. Other than that location was good & close to golden temple (which had preferable seating and better food.)

The stay was decent. Near a paid parking spot so commuting with your own vehicle isn’t a pain. The rooms were decent and clean. The terrace area is good specially in winters .

Everything was excellent. Staff are friendly and fun. The wagha tour from here is great value. I would definitely recommend if you like more social hostels

Everything about this hostel and the tour with Ricky were wonderful! The staff were absolutely amazing, the rooms had AC and were clean, it's in a great location, and the hostel has great vibes and atmosphere. I liked my experience here very much! I would recommend it to any friends going to Amritsar!

They did everything right. Try the golden temple tour and the border tour! Excellent value and even better company. We spent lots of time with Arjun, he gave us great advice. He is extremely helpful and has great communication skills!

Bed in the private room was pretty hard and should be replaced, but the hostel is so good. Great location, super kind and helpful guys working there. They run a tour to the wagah border every day which is great to meet other travelers but is a great experience for a very low price. Vikky who runs the tour helped me with sorting out a sim card and dropped us to the bus the day we left. We arrived late to the hostel and they not only let me book on the spot but checked us in despite it being very late at night. The view from the rooftop is also great. Can't imagine a better place to stay in Amritsar!

We stayed with my husband for 2 nights. The location is perfect and close to the golden temple. The hostel is nice and tidy. The rooftop has air conditioning which is very nice considering the hot days in Amritsar. Our highlight was meeting Vicky, he runs the border tour. He is such a nice person, very informative and helpful. In overall was a nice stay.

Great location with really helpful staff. If you stay definitely book the Border ceremony tour with Vicky. He is heaps of fun and super informative too. We didn’t use the communal area, so I can’t speak for these areas. The room was as expected and well represented from the photos. We had a double private room with private bathroom which was great. Good air con (essential) and mostly clean. Great value for money. I’d stay again.

I really enjoyed this hostel. The location was great, rooms were nice and comfortable and the there was a nice rooftop patio. More importantly however we’re the wonderful staff that worked there. I want to give major props to Arjun the receptionist who was very friendly, helpful and down to earth. Also Vicky the tour guide driver was very friendly and comedic. Great experience overall.

Hello Dear travellers, I booked a Dorm at Madpackers, Amritsar for myself for a night and the experience was amazing. I had a sound sleep with the comfortable bed, the cleanliness the property provided and the amazing AC experience at such an authentic price. I have been to other dorms as well but this Dorm's checkout time is apt. other's Checkout times were like 10:00am or 11:00 am. This property allows checkout at 12:00 noon which I liked. The Kitchen area and common area is really good. The staff members are also very polite and professional. You may order anything from the Menu. Some of the items include tea, coffee, Maggie etc. You are requested to wash the extra Dishes or plates you take for your personal use, which is good. For Dorm travellers, you may ask for Towel for bathing purpose, but it is chargeable at Rs. 50. Soap and other amenities, they asked me to bring from outside only. For room bookings they might be providing, I believe As a solo traveller, I request the other travellers as well to help maintain this property so that others as well as we may experience the same experience in future as well. Thankyou.

Nice hostel within proximity of golden temple and other places. Not very busy, they do have a roof where you can sit and enjoy the view of the old rustic and peaceful city.

The hostel in question provided an unparalleled level of comfort, with a clean and well-appointed space that left me feeling at ease. The staff were not only attentive and helpful, but truly superb in their hospitality. And perhaps most enjoyable of all was the opportunity to interact with guests from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, providing a unique and enriching experience that was both intellectually stimulating and emotionally satisfying. All in all, my stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone seeking a premium travel experience.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Immaculately clean, great atmosphere and common area and the location is very close to the center. Most of all the level of service from the staff is well above and beyond what could be expected, they truly will go out of their way to help you with any issue you might encounter during your stay. I was helped to repair my phone which broke the same night I arrived at a great local rate, and was barely without it for half a day. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if I ever visit Amritsar again. Great team here.

The rooms were nice, cozy bed, clean sheets, privacy drapes, lockers. Only negative is the hot water didn’t work after letting it warm. Vicky, the tuktuk driver to the Wagah border was phenomenal. Worth every penny and made the hour drive enjoyable with some stops on the way and hilarious jokes. Quaint hangout room and rooftop terrace to chill on the 3rd floor.

We stayed for 2 days in standard room. The experience was pleasant. But the highlight of the stay was Mr Vicky who drove us to Wagh boarder. He was quite knowledgeable and told us a lot about the culture and unique historical places to visit. My personal recommendation would be to contact him before you visit as he can guide you to the best and authentic places to eat, shop or see. :)

We were a group of 4 people and our booking was in a 4 bed dorm . Room was clean and our bunk beds were also well organized. Staff was helpful. They arranged an auto service at a charge of 300 per person for the wagha border. The driver will guide you through the city and was very friendly. Also it's at a walking distance from Golden temple. So overall it was a good experience.

Walking distance from Golden temple. Staff is so much kind that even if anyone having party whole night with music, laughing, talking they are not going to stop it. So it wasn't good for me who sleeps at night. Otherwise location, staff and an ambience everything was good. They are offering waghah border tour is good with nominal changes. You will meet amazing tour guide and driver.

Its near to golden temple. Rooms and bathrooms are clean enough. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Common area is not that big. Charging is common area is big issue as they have hanging sockets. My chargers were not able to stick to those. Also common area was not that clean during my visit. May be some group partied too much.

My stay at the hostel has been great becoz of the wonderful staff. Travellers also are very positive. The rooms are clean and the location is very close to golden Temple and many food stops for foodies to explore. I highly recommend this hostel to solo travellers!!!

we are a group of 5 people and have our booking was in a 12 bed dorm on the ground floor. Room was clean and our bunk beds were also well organized. The dorm room only have one shared toilet which is surprisingly weird. Although we can use the additional 2 toilets in the common room area on the 3rd floor. Staff was helpful. They will arrange an auto service at a charge of 300 per person for the wagha border. The driver will guide you through the city and was very friendly. Also it's at a walking distance from Golden temple. So overall it was a good experience (If you can manage the washrooms).

They think they are the zhostel. 2 stars only because they are overcharging because they think they are equivalent to zhostel. Stayed in a dorm bed which had 12 beds and on washroom. No general washroom available. So imagine if all the 12 beds are occupied. No toiletries available in the washroom. You have to bring your own even handwash. The only great thing about this is it's location, few minutes away from golden temple.

  • 3/5 Jamie 1 year ago on Google
Location was great and staff were friendly. Bed was way to hard and small unless you enjoy sleeping diagonally feet will be hanging off the end. At least for my room could hear staff chatting in reception area for most the night.

Fabulous stay and cleanliness all the time inside the corridor and rooms. I stayed n Quadro room it was amazing. Golden temple was just walking distance and the terrace was best part. There is common kitchen got all cutleries so you can cook anything or if you want to order have cutleries. The staff was wonderful and warm

One of the best hostels in Amritsar. Located in the centre of the city. Parking the car is a little bit difficult, but is possible. Host is friendly. Nice ambience and the property is close to Golden temple.

  • 4/5 Vikrant N. 1 year ago on Google
The hostel is very good and value for money especially for the solo travellers. The dorms are neat and clean. Wifi works well and the golden temple is nearly 1km from this place. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Just one thing I would like to mention that if you're booking this place online then don't book it from easemytrip website because this place doesn't have a tie-up with this website and you'll end up paying again the check-in desk because they won't get your booking details. Other websites work fine but a big NO to easemytrip. That's it!

  • 4/5 Suryansh M. 1 year ago on Google
Decent place to stay if you’re travelling solo or with your friends. the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is polite and courteous. This hostel is located at a walking distance from Jallianwala Bagh and Golden Temple. Its located centrally in Amritsar. The tariff is quite reasonable for a place this good. Their common area could use some renovation though. The foosball table was broken.
