Vivine's Kitchen

Restaurant

👍 For several days, we drove past this place on the East End of Grand Cayman but never saw any activity. A local we spoke with when we first arrived on the island mentioned Vivine's as a must try place to eat. Were they still in business we wondered? Then it happened. We drove by and the gate was open... People often mention good, cake, Great,

For several days, we drove past this place on the East End of Grand Cayman but never saw any activity. A local we spoke with when we first arrived on the island mentioned Vivine's as a must try place to eat. Were they still in business we wondered? Then it happened. We drove by and the gate was open! A quick turn around and into this very unassuming premise. First impression was why are there doves in a enclosure in the parking lot? Vivine's Kitchen lives up to it's name. You literally walk up to doorway and order from her kitchen! The menu board is not very big but the love that goes into the food is top notch. We quickly received our order (we were the only customers) and off we went to drive to our hotel down the road. The food is mostly deep fried so be forewarned but very tasty. We only got a small sample but it was delicious. The Minced Fish on Rice was really good. Just the right amount of seasoning to let the flavours come through. The Rum Cakes were very moist and yes, had the flavour of rum come through. Yum!! Highly recommend Vivine's Kitchen for a quick snack/meal when travelling around the East End.

Came on recommendation to try the cassava cake... today they were sold out! So we tried a few other things instead which were delicious, so we’ll be back. Chocolate cake, chocolate brownie, carrot cake and strawberry cake were some of the few on offer! The fresh juices were also good, especially the carrot and ginger which tasted amazing. We sat outside on tables to take in the view, but there was some indoor seating if you prefer. A very relaxed, home-like feel, not at all like a commercial restaurant or cafe so don’t expect too much other that friendly service with a smile and some good food.

Loved the food. Stewed chicken was great. My wife got the oxtail and loved it, but not as much as the potatoe salad that came with each of our meals which was a 10 and would bring us back for more by itself! The location is right on the beach and had inside seating which was a plus for us because the flies are annoying to deal with when eating outside this time of the year. You can't beat the price for the quality of the food you get here. It was our first time in the islands and this place came recommend to us by others who were visiting. It's nothing fancy, just good ol soul food for a great price!

Loved the food and our host! Limited seating inside, but plenty outside. Parking very limited at the place but some area available to the south. Great prices and true home cooking. Grouper, snapper excellent. Great drinks as well. Finish it off with carrot, rum, and chocolate cake. $120us fed the 6 of us with some to take home.

Quaint little place with great ocean view and fantastic food. No set menu, whatever she has fresh. No set times as hours are when she chooses. A must try

**CASH ONLY** Typical East End experience: Absolutely amazing food, but no A/C, slow service but with a smile, limited drink options. Vivine's has the best rice & peas on the entire island in my opinion, her curry chicken is mouth watering too. You are literally eating at someone's house. There is a great view of Wreck Of Ten Sails from the outdoor seating, which is also next to a dove coop. Worth the hour drive from Seven Mile for sure, especially if you are checking out other east end experiences like the blowholes or parrot sanctuary for ex.

Glad we got to try this local restaurant. The special of the day conch stew is really good. The pineapple rum cake is the best I've tasted.

The food was great! Really food fried dumplings 😋 but lack of customer service was a dominate theme in many the local mom and pop venues. But they can cook!

This is an overrated take away (called a restaurant will not be appropriate) . Food is local but that doesn’t mean quality or good cooking. We order chicken bbq, a fried deep fry fish and shredded pork… simply not good. We plan to eat at the place and we did, they serve on take away plastic recipients…to forget…

Great food in a beautiful location! Just a small place with very friendly staff. Wasn’t busy at all when we stopped by for lunch and food came out very quickly. Cute little place if your looking for something off the beaten path.

Ordered the fried grouper, curried chicken, vegetables, potato salad, beans and rice. Fish and chicken were really good. Above average rice and beans, non mayo potato salad was OK, vegetables from a can. Only one fish option today. Gorgeous view, picnic tables in shade and sun, very clean parking lot for 3, otherwise road.

Food was microwaved heat and taste like it was sitting for a bit. It wasn't bad, just not fresh. I will say I came a hour before they were to close. The young woman taking the order had a smile that could reach the moon very nice lady. Again, I came late so I was literally the only one their. Great view of the ocean while I was eating.

Great tasting local food with huge portions. Menu changes frequently (like every week) which makes me want to go back again to try something new. The oxtail was amazing! Homemade Mango Juice was so good! The atmosphere is lacking even when there are lots of customers and the styrofoam everything is unfortunate.

We have heard of Vivines for over 15 years of so, and never tried it until today. I am super impressed. The quality of the fry fish is probably the best fried fish I have ever had! Their deserts are also incredible and the price here is SUPER affordable. Highly recommend!

LOVE the food at this place, prices are very reasonable for the Cayman islands. Highly recommend the Cayman style beef. Also, this place is cash only.

We had the cow heel soups, which tasted amazing except they put bones with no meat. I would have had something else if that was the case. I hope to try something new when next I visit the island as her cooking was literally home cooked.

This place serves dogfood. The only bathroom is an outhouse which smells up the entire place. The whole place is a waste of money. All the food has no taste and the rice and beans were about 2/3 of the meal and they had no taste. There were bones in fish and the table was on a slanted floor. DO NOT GO HERE!

Food okay, for the price the position is small but location is good.
