Hey, you gotta check out this place! It's a bonsai garden and I've never seen anything like it before. There's even a tree that's been here since 1901. Not exactly topiary, but still amazing to see. Plus, there's an aviary next door with a bunch of parrots and macaws. They're in cages which kinda sucks, but at least the cages are huge and the birds seem well taken care of. You can't take pics in the aviary though. Here are some from the bonsai garden! This place will make you feel that you are in a bonsai garden in Japan this place will satisfy your carving of Japanese culture.

Very well made garden based on Japanese themes and Pattern. Good collection of plants , gidamoolike . Well maintained with cleanliness despite huge crowds visiting daily. Worth visiting. Shuka vana is birds sanctuary with very good collection of parrots of different colours , sizes. Big parrots are there who smile and greet you just like how you greet and talk. You can take photographs with parrots sitting on you at a nominal cost and this money we pay goes for birds food and maintenance. Around 2000 birds are housed here and is an attraction here at shuka vana at Sri Ganapati Sachidananda Ashram. Totally there are two temples of Lord Hanuman and Sri Balaji And three places museum , bonsai garden and shukavana birds park. Inside ashram , huge free car parking is there

This place is a must-visit. I have not ever seen a bonsai botanical garden before coming across this one. The oldest specimen that I spotted is from 1901. Not exactly topiary but the essence is present in many of the samples here. The variety is massive. You have to visit this place to believe it. Also, this place is adjacent to an aviary with a huge variety of parrots and macaws among other bird species. Although I'm not a fan of caged birds, it seems that they are well taken care of. These creatures are too magnificent to be caged. But with all the illegal wildlife trading of these exotic species, at least the cages here are huge. And that is in no way saying that I loved to see them in cages. Photography is not allowed in the aviary. However, here are some pictures from the bonsai garden.

This place has a different type of beauty and it feels so good seeing and enjoying the environment there. Knowledge and fun visiting for kids also. And there is sukha vana also where you can see many breeds of birds and idols of god and some great personalities are also very well made and maintained.

Beautiful bonsai garden in Mysore. You can find bonsai which are many years old. I appreciate the patience and hardwork that goes in making a bonsai. This garden was mind blowing. I'm surprised how they managed to take care of so many 30-40 years old bonsai. Do try going in early hours in the morning or evenings. The place is calm serene and has a generous amount of fresh air. One can easily spend minimum 2 hours and explore this place. The garden is maintained very well. Entry fees is only 25/- per person Pay 25/- and enjoy with that nature unlimited. They even have a rock of ramasethu bridge.

A calm and peaceful place for a nice evening stroll. Different varieties of plants grown as Bonsai arranged in groups following themes like Zodiac, Classical Music Ragas, etc. Beautifully managed premises. Do not miss the detailed boards that can be found along with each plant. Directions are well marked along the footpath, which can be followed to visit all the corners without missing any. A nominal entre fee is collected. Worth one visit.

Sigh.... where do i begin The place is very well thought of and only a visionary person can think of such an amazing idea of an aviary and bonsai garden together. The aviary is neat, clean and excellently maintained. The staff truly cares about the birds living in the aviary. Lots of deity sculptures and statues of various birds having numerous shapes and sizes. You can even get your photo clicked with 1 or multiple macaw's at a reasonable price. Facility for clicking photos with multiple parakeet's while feeding them is available as well l. The Bonsai garden had left me speechless with the attention in detail and amount and variety of bonsai's. For a second i felt as if i was in traditional Japan. The whole garden has been designed to give you that feel and it sure does. Perfect place to get an instagram post and take aesthetic pics.

Very clicks I took there but you can find thousands of parrots. Also, there are two spots where their team will take photos with birds and you have to pay them at counter at last to get the copies. At the end you can have herbal tea served by an old couple, I like dmuch. There is a show which shows how those birds speak with swamiji. Don't miss this if you have kids with you in mysuru visit.

Entry fee is 25 rupees, but worth to see this garden. Plant lovers will love it. Maintained well. Besides this Birds museum is also there which is really nice to see so many types of colourful birds. There is no entry fees to see birds. Very few of them we have seen. Really it is wonder world of birds. Maintained well. Sad thing is photography is not allowed using phone. Visitors are asked to switch off phones to protect birds from phone signals.

Bonsai garden is a place to visit... Its in same campus with Shuka vana. The dedication of the maintaining staff is clearly visible. The care and efforts of around 30 years resulted in this garden. Superb bonsai plants. They charge about 25 Rs per person as a entry fee. But trust me its worth visiting... Liked

Not able to go inside this as it closes by 5:30 pm. We visited the Shukavana which is just beside it. It's also really good having different varieties of parrots. Even you can take some picture with those parrots (They charge around 300 per parrots for the bigger one).

This garden is exquisite. It is very clean, tidy and rich. Bonsai is a traditional art of growing mini trees and it is absolutely splendid. I loved all the plants exhibited here and would like to have them all in my apartment!

Excellent place. You can see big Banyan trees at one meter high. Different kinds of parrots found there. Very cool environment.

  • 2/5 Praghalathan K. 4 years ago on Google
The actual experience here didn't meet the expectations. They were a lot of trees in the Bonsai garden, but the area was too small. I also felt that this place had too much emphasis on the swamy who has created this place. It felt more like a business place where even temple worshiping is being monetized in the newly built temple near the bonsai garden. If you can, try to avoid the museum in the so-called Sukavana (the caged-birds place) - the entrance fee is too high for virtually nothing inside.

It's a must visit and well maintained Bonsai Garden. Lots and Lots of varieties of Bonsai Plants. One of the must visit places for Nature Lovers. Entry fees is 25 Rupees each person and well justified as per maintenance and care taken for the Garden ☘️🌱🌿

Nice place to relax and see interesting trees. Only 25 rupees to have a look. There are many birds on exhibition near here but I do not think it is part of this garden. It is sad to see all of the birds in small cages just for people to stare at them. I hope it is not part of this nice garden.

A wonderful collection of rare breeds of plants. A costly habit, but we'll displayed and maintained. Added to this, you can play with lot of parrots, feeding, taking selfies. Children really enjoy. A day's out to this place relieves tension, retain memory for a long time
