Coming from a Kashmiri Pandit family, it sure feels nice to find a place which serves authentic Kashmiri food and trust me when I say authentic I mean it on a micro level. The quality of the food here is amazing and each and every item looks gorgeous. You'll feel the aura, the vibes coming from the place to be very positive. Kashmiri folk songs playing in the background while you eat your food. The presentation, the taste, the aura everything about this place is great and this is by far one of the best food I've eaten in Delhi. Do check this place out if you're planning to visit this area. If hungry, go Matamaal.

Beautiful, aesthetic, delicious, hygienic, pure, different, legacy, heritage, peaceful......so many words and one place !! Matamaal offers the authentic cuisines, the recipies originally crafted by Kashmiri Pandits. They have some amazing options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I had their paneer cooked in tamarind, turmeric sauce etc. and it was legit good and very different from the usual paneer dishes. My friend had Mutton Roganjosh, and she loved it. Kehwa and fried lotus stems are something you should definitely try. Also, you can even choose to buy the authentic spices, breads, cookies etc. Ambience is so peaceful and thoughtful, it gives your that positive vibes as soon as you enter. Location - City Court, near Sikanderpur Metro Station. Autos, cabs etc. are easily available too. Images are attached for the reference (subject to copyright)

One of the most wonderful experience of having a kashmiri cusine. The ambiance is great, you will get the Kashmiri vibes here. Ample amount of sitting space is available including shikhara themed sitting and takhatposh. The food is great , we tried tehar ( yellow rice) , rogan josh ( mutton curry) , gaustabha( meat ball curry) and chicken kabab. Gaustabha was the most unique Dish I have ever tried, and its completely worth. Overall my experience was great, and will surely recommend others to visit this place to have some great kashmiri foods.

Delicious Kashmiri Pundit food. Loved the signature Iced kehwa. Nadru Monj, Chetins, Kabargah, chicken kanti and seekh kebabs. Newbies should opt for the Thalis to get a taste of more stuff. Everything is fantastic here!

This is very good restaurant if you want to try something very authentic kashimiri food, wazwan, and meat delicacies. Service if good as well as the food is also nice. We tried kashmiri wazwan and tabak maaz. Everything was delicious but i liked specifically rista, tabak maaz and phirni. Price is on bit higher side. For 2 people a dinner cost to us around Rs 3000 where we shared all the meal. So for trying it is bit high price but if you have the budget then you must.

Perfect restaurant if you want to try Authentic Kashmiri Cuisine. Restaurant ambience is amazing and staff was courteous. We tried the Wazwan Thali which is good enough for two people. Goshtaba, Rista, Waz kukur, mutton seekh kebab and kabargah were so delicious. Also tried mutton Rogan Josh which was yum. Downside the location is pretty awful. DLF city court is a shady area to be in the evening so wouldn't suggest families going here for dinner.

The place is great. Feels authentic. Tried the pandit thali. Loved it. Too much to eat. If you love mutton, this is the cuisine.

10 for ambience.. Great service. Food is a little expensive and doesn't quite feel like authentic Kashmiri Wazwan. I have been to Kashmirana also and I'll rate their food higher than Matamaal. However Matamaal is spacious, ambient and feels like home which Kashmirana lacks a little due to smaller space. Overall, a good place to chill and eat. I would suggest Kashmirana for a more authentic flavour.

The food here is good and service is excellent. I found the Yakhni gravy and Kabargah to be near the traditional items that I have eaten at my KP family friends home however Roganjosh is disappointing. Gushtaba meat balls were great.

This is a very warm and welcoming place especially for people who love Kashmiri food and flavours. It is an awarded restaurant so I won't comment much, I found the service was bit slow on the day we visited. Rest food was served hot and had amazing flavours. We ordered wazwan chicken seekh, Mutton roghan Josh and dum aloo.

This was the first time I tried kashmiri food and I can say that I was a good experience for me. The place have a beautiful ambiance, wooden chairs Indian khatiya bed this was icing on the cake. The variety in menu for non veg options were great but veg options are less. I liked kewah there but pink salt tea was not for me I can say that. The taste of food is great and if you need something different you can definitely go there. They have great variety of bread also. The portion size is small I can say that but if you need something different you can try this place.

Very disappointed, the food was bad. I was looking for a good Kashmiri restaurant, at ended up at this place in May-2022, after looking at reviews. The food was bad. Rogan josh n Yakhni were flavourless n chewy. Gushtaba was ok. The only thing good was chok aubergine. Overall, the food was flavourless.

Visited this place after good feedback on social media, and really liked the experience. The restaurant is nicely decked up in authentic Kashmiri decor. The place also sells spices, Kashmiri goods, though didn't look through it that much. Now regarding food, it offers authentic Kashmiri cuisine. We ordered Mutton Kabargah (fried mutton ribs), Mutton roganjosh, Chicken marchwangan korma, tandoori butter roti and rice. All the foods were excellent, however really liked the mutton roganjosh. My advice would be to have the dishes with rice, as it goes better with rice than roti, and am told this is preferred for kashmiri dishes. Now on the quantity, portion size is a little small, which can make it expensive for a large group.

Overall great first experience. Ambience was good, staff was good as well. Coming to food, ordered Chicken Rogan Josh and 3 different types of rotis/naan viz. Tandoori butter roti, Butter naan and Lachcha paratha, everything tasted super and delicious. Would definitely visit again to try other things.

We went to celebrate friends birthday. Experiencing the kashmiri recipes is a good experience. But personally didn't like the taste (chicken and mutton- korma and Roganjosh) as I like spicy and sour tasting dishes- typical south indian cravings. Liked only chicken starter. Mutton starter is disappointing. Ambience is excellent- very clean- light music- pleasant atmosphere.

The external appearance and approach into this restaurant is not appealing. Signage is not professional and it gives an impression of low confidence. Entering into the restaurant increases the low confidence and adds confusion. Is this a store or a restaurant? In any case our party was seated promptly. We ordered a variety of dishes. My experience with Kashmiri food is basically home cooked food at friend’s. The food here however, was different - not to say that it was bad but certainly a different taste. It was heavier in look - tons of rogan used - and it was heavy on the gut too. The desert β€œShufta” was delicious but watch out it can be super hot and if you are wearing dentures better stay away. On the whole a decent experience. Not sure if I will go back again.

Was here on a Saturday evening and the place was busy. We did not have to wait for the table though. We tried the Mutton seekh kebab, which was ordinary. Chicken Roganjosh was different. The Kashmiri flavour of the masala was evident. The decor of the restaurant reflects kashmiri style. The service was prompt and the restaurant was clean and hygienic. The restaurant also has a store selling Kashmiri souvenirs and clothes.

Lovely homely atmosphere. The food seems authentic. The Rogan Josh is definitely nothing like the Punjabi variety that passes off in every other restaurant. The waiters were a bit clueless though when we asked for more details. Truth be told, I didn't like the food at all though this is a matter of personal taste. It was a unique experience however and if anything, I enjoyed the kahwa and sheermal at the end.

Very less crowd during these times, and that too properly spaced out. Located in DLF cybercity hub, this place is definitely a one time visit if you want to embrace the kashmiri cuisine. There is enough on the menu for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. The taste is simply awesome, being a kashmiri myself I can endorse that undoubtedly. The ambience is also very pleasant. I tried the non veg thali and rajma rice as well. The only reason I gave it a 3 star rating is due to the fact that the quantity is less for the price they are charging.

One of the worst experience i have ever had. I went with my team around 10 people & food was pathetic. I have never ever tasted this kind of food in my life. Even when they served the food (rista dish) there was a hair inside that. , i have attached the picture. Overall one of the worst kashmiri food we have tasted . Please dont go and waste your money
