Haleli Mirza Ghalib in narrow lane of historical place Ballimaran once has been a residential place for courtesans of Shah Jahan and later generation. The whole area is full of monuments, the living history.

mirza Galib , the greatest poet , stayed at this place.even though he lives through his poetry, you get a sacrosanct feeling when you visit the place. the poet lived here. the area has changed into a wholesale market and the particular lane has shoe trade. its hard to believe that we are on the right track. but ask any shopkeeper and they will guide you right to the Haveli the ignored memorial is adorned with the best tribute the poet , his own poetry a nice bust gives a selfie opportunity. lighting is good. no entry ticket to the memorial. kehte hai ke galib ka hai andaaje bayaan aur. three salutes to the poet.

If you are into poetry and have ever crossed paths with the works of Ghalib, this place will woo you. It's nothing fancy, but just the residence of the poet. Couplets of his Ghazals are on the walls. It's nice to go to places which have more to offer than just superficial value. No tickets. Free to visit. Opens around 10ish am in the morning.

The ultimate pilgrimage for all fans of Mirza Ghalib. It is a place to experience rather than describe in words that can never adequately convey what it means to be there. It is small (under 150 sq metres) and can be ticked off in a few minutes or the faithful can spend hours here just soaking it in. Do go if you are a true fan, otherwise there are other tourist attractions in close proximity.

Must visit place hidden deep within the alleys of ballimaran, Chandni chowk. Well preserved place that displays how the great Poet Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan, aka Mirza Ghalib lived in his Haveli during the reign of Mughals and the uprising British Raj. Inside the haveli, there are his shayaris on display alongside various other items that he used in his day to day life. Definately a go-to place if you are a big fan of his ghazals

In densely populated neighbourhood of Old Delhi is more than three centuries old and is a prized treasure of Mirza Ghalib Haveli, where he spent last nine years of his life. The visit takes you back 150 years in history and brings in mind the images when Ghalib would have lived here. Sheer delight. The place has now been converted into a small museum of sort where things related to Ghalib are kept and his poetry is written. It’s a must visit.

Mirza Ghalib Haveli in Chandni Chowk is a poignant visit, evoking overflowing emotions for the legend it represents. Urgent government intervention is needed to preserve this cultural gem, a place that rightfully belongs to the legacy of a literary legend like Mirza Ghalib.

Haveli Mirza Ghalib situated in Gali Qasim Jan in Baliimaran, Chandni Chowk, Delhi-6 India. Mirza Ghalib was one of India's most profound poets. Way back in the 19th century, the Mughal sultanate was on an irreversible decline and Ghalib's poetry reeked of this decadence. He was a man of many words and little material possession and his home bears testament to this fact. Like the other residences of Shahjahanabad, the haveli comprises of a chowk or an open area surrounded by rooms on all sides that open into this chowk. Till the late 1990s, this structure was in a state of ruin with unchecked encroachments from neighbouring shops. You could have walked past the haveli not knowing of its presence in the least. You can visit the haveli any time of the day. It is advisable to take a peddle rickshaw from the Chandni Chowk Metro station (in case you are travelling by metro) or the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Red light (in case you are taking a bus or three wheeler) to Ballimaran. If you are on foot, the haveli is a brief walk in, once you reach the Ballimaran street. Any passer-by will be able to help you with its actual location since Ghalib’s haveli is one of the more prominent havelis of the Walled City. Today I visited Haveli Mirza Ghalib and learn the past of India. Old Delhi of India is full of historical places. I really love to visit again and again.

Urdu lovers should visit this haveli atleast once if they are in Old Delhi. Breath the same space where Chacha Ghalib had breathed once. Also recommend to the caretakers of this place, if they could have preserved Ghalib's more original properties.

Mirza Beg Asadullah Khan as Mirza Ghalib. The house was given to him by Hakim, a physician who is believed was an enthusiast of his poetry. Ghalib lived in this Haveli for a long period of his life after he came from Agra. It is a heritage site declared by Archaeological Survey of India. After the takeover by the Delhi government the haveli was made into a permanent memorial museum housing objects related to the poet and his times. It is open to all, with free entry and no photography charges, from 11 am till 6 pm on all days except Monday. It located in the Gali Qasim Jan, Ballimaran, Old Delhi.

A Wonderful Historical Place where the greatest Urdu shayar Mirza Ghalib resided . The place is run by ASI (Archeological Survey of India) and secured by private guards . The condition of the inner halls is good But the grand hall has leaking roof which makes it bit messy during rain. The Haveli has well preserved books by Ghalib with his Sher on various walls with Hindi and English means which makes it easy to understand by people of all language . To visit the Haveli, just come to Chandni Chauk metro station and then by gate no 5, it's not more than 900m walk . A must visit place for Sher-o-shayari lovers.

If you're into poetry and shayari then you can visit the place. You get to see a lot of Verses written by Mirza Galib, some of them are in the original book which were present there. The only thing that disappointed me was, I was expecting a bigger place but the Haveli area is quite small.

GETTING THERE The nearest metro station to the museum of Ghalib is Chawri Bazar from where you can either walk to the haveli or take a rickshaw. THINGS TO DO IN & AROUND GHALIB HAVELI The museum tries to recreate the life of the famous poet. You can witness his traditional attire and his favourite cuisines. There is also a portrait of the Mirza Ghalib. The haveli is situated in the heritage neighbourhood of Old Delhi. You can explore the nearby monuments like Red Fort and Jama Masjid. If you are looking to shop in Old Delhi, there are various markets in Chandni Chowk and nearby areas. Old Delhi is also famous for its street foods and eating joints like Paranthe Wali Gali. There is also a national library in Chandni Chowk. There are also spiritual worshipping places of various religion - Hindu, Jain, Muslim, Christian, Sikh. Ballimaran is also famous for its eyewear shopping and shoe shopping. OPENING AND CLOSING TIMING OF GHALIB HAVELI The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm. ENTRY FEES There is no entry fee for Ghalib Haveli BEST TIME TO VISIT GHALIB HAVELI Though it’s open throughout the year, the best time to visit is during winters as the summers in Delhi is pretty hot. Amidst the bustling streets of Ballimaran, famous for its shoes and eyewear market, lies the quaint Haveli which once housed India’s finest poet, Mirza Asadullah Khan, also known as Mirza Ghalib. There are numerous ancient havelis in the old city of Delhi and on the first appearance there is nothing unique about Mirza Ghalib Haveli, except for the fact that it was an abode of finest Urdu poetry. Mirza Ghalib is believed to have spent his final days in the Haveli before his death in 1869. The haveli originally belonged to a physician who was an ardent fan of the legend. Once, Mirza Ghalib died and the owner of the haveli dies, the house has witnessed numerous residents. Today, a forgotten museum in Delhi dedicated to Mirza Ghalib, the house has been a witness of the creation of various famous poetry. Mirza Ghalib was born to Mirza Abdullah Beg in 1797 in the alluring city of Agra. Ghalib’s father died when Ghalib was 5 years old. Ghalib was married to Umrao Begum at the age of 13, Ghalib left Agra to move to Delhi, where he spent all his time until his death in 1869. Ghalib witnessed the political shift from Mughal to British Era and his poetry beautiful depicted this change. Ghalib till date is a world-renowned figure and a major contributor to promoting Urdu poetry and Shayari. Ghalib’s physical presence may have ceased to exist but his works, preserved in books are some of the most sold books in the world.

Classes get cancelled in North Campus and we are @ChandniChawk, an interesting place for shayri/ gazal people or the heart broken ones (😂) to have a peaceful time. This is quite near Parathe vali Gali. Nearby places are Red Fort, Fatehpur Fort, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Jama Mazid and Chandni Chawk Market. All are in walking distance, plan your trips wisely. Have a good day:)

My experience was good, although more than half of it is illegal occupied by locals, the size of the haveli is now small, in which the utensils of Ghalib's time and the book of poetry written by him are present. Nearest metro station is chawri bazar, Mirza spent the last nine years of his life in this haveli. It is unfortunate that it has not been preserved well. It is free of cost, must visit with friends and classmates.

This place is very calm. You don't need to purchase entry tickets to visit the Haveli. It is free of cost. It's situated at Ballimaran and the nearest metro station is Chawri Bazar. The Ghalib's poetry is written in three different languages so that a non- urdu person can read that too.

A nice satisfying experience to visit the poet's Haveli. Reclaimed and restored by 'Gulzar' Sir. There was an inner experience of feeling that this is the place Ghalib lived and the streets around HE must have roamed! Amazing feeling. It's as if there was an evening scheduled with HIM and felt real good to be there. "तुझे हम वली समझते, जो न बादाख़्वार होता!" हम उन्हे वली समझते है!!!🙏

Stepping into Mirza Ghalib's House in Delhi is like entering a portal to the past. The exhibits, including manuscripts and personal belongings, offer a profound insight into the life of the legendary Urdu poet. The recreated study and courtyard evoke a sense of reverence for Ghalib's literary genius. Despite its modest size, the house leaves a lasting impression, making it a must-visit for poetry enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

Sad to see that The soo called haveli, today comprises just of 2 rooms dedicated as a museum to the legendary poet. Government should intervene and take charge of the rest of the Haveli which must be in possession of other shop keepers just like how these two rooms were. The entry is free. Perhaps the guard could start selling some books written by Ghalib.

It is only 10 mins walk from Chawri Bazar Station Gate No. 1 but the roads are narrow and crowded with traffic. However enjoy it as it charm of old delhi. It is easy to miss the Haveli as it is in narrow road in between shops. I found a Mirza Ghalib Haveli video walk from Chawri Bazar Station on a youtube channel called Induskraken. You may search it. The Haveli is very small, more like 1 BHK place. However, it lost major part of it to encroachments and thanks to Delhi govt. for saving what is left. Yes place is small but if you love and respect Ghalib, trust me you will enjoy it even then and you would want to touch the walls and feel the place where Ghalib stayed. Most of the relics here are just photos or posters of original, however main room where Ghalib statue is there is very nice. If you are in Chandni Chowk, you should pay it a visit, kyuki Bhai agar aap Dilli mei ho, aur ghalib se nahi mile to kya hi Kiya aapne (if you are a delhite or living in Delhi, and you haven't yet met Ghalib, you haven't done anything) Entry is free. You can take selfies and photos with mobile - no restriction. Guard there offers to take your pic in front of Ghalib statue... I guess he expects tips but he never says he wants tip, ha ha. Still i gave him 10 rs while coming out. I rate this place 5 because aura of Ghalib in the place is enough to make ur mind tranquil and happy.

It was good Gali Qasim Jan Ballimaran is the mansion of Mirza Ghalib inside Old Delhi Mirza Ghalib was a great poet of the 20th century. There is no need to tell this thing to anyone, because everyone knows it. He lived in this street for the last time and died in this mansion on 15 February 1669. After that this whole mansion was converted into a factory and then in the 21st century, when Nasruddin Shah's movie came which was on Mirza Ghalib, then this thing was highlighted and the factory was again removed and Mirza Ghalib's memorabilia was kept here.

Though they preserved the haveli, they turned the ambience into a some kind of old era freak show. It doesnt have any standards of a museum and will not help to sustain the respect of the great Ghalib. They have to renovate it and treat it like museum, otherwise just putting a historical plaque saying ghalib lived here is sufficient.

Here in this haveli, you will find a sculpture of Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib. Shri Bhagwan Rampure is the sculptor of this statue, which was unveiled by Shrimati Sheila Dixit on 26 December 2010. There are some of his clothes presented here, original manuscripts of some of his compositions. Apart from this, there is a huge painting of Mirza Ghalib enjoying his hukka. If you are looking forward to knowing more about the era in which Ghalib lived then you will be disappointed. But there are boards on which are written Ghalib’s poems and couplets, his hobbies, about his life which will keep you engaged. This haveli will give you little bit idea of Ghalib’s life. My Experience: I liked this place, it’s a very small place where you can spend 30-40 minutes maximum. What I enjoyed the most was reading his works on boards here and there. Moreover, I was excited to see the original manuscripts of his writings, his handwriting, I cannot understand Urdu, but believe me, I got thrilled to see it.It is a place which I wanted to visit for long and I enjoyed it, If you are a Ghalib fan, visit this place, to get an idea of his life, his house more closely.

"Greenery is growing out of the doors and walls, 'Ghalib'! I am in wilderness and spring has arrived at my house." Mirza Ghalib's Haveli is located in the Old Delhi and is a heritage site declared by Archaeological Survey of India. It offers an insight into the Mirza Ghalib's lifestyle and architecture of the Mughal Era and reflects the period when the Mughal era was on the decline in India. Ghalib lived in this Haveli for a long period of his life after he came from Agra. While staying at this Haveli, he wrote his Urdu and Persian ‘diwans’. Located near Chawri Bazar metro station and Delhi Junction railway station it is open to all, with free entry and no photography charges, from 11 am till 6 pm on all days except Monday.

Tucked in the Gali Qasim Jan in Ballimaran in Old Delhi, Ghalib ki Haveli was the residence of the celebrated 19th century Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib. The building has now been turned into a heritage monument and is home to several relics from the life and times of the poet. Boasting of incredible Mughal architecture, the highlight of the Haveli is a sculpture of Mirza Ghalib that was installed in 2010. Besides, you can also find several poems written by the poet that are displayed here.
