Visting Gurnee Mills for the first time and I love Hot Topic! I picked up an Avril Lavigne shirt. Noah at checkout was very kind, nice and got me a good deal and wished me an early happy birthday. Such a good time at Hot Topic.

They forgot to take a hard tag off of my scrunchies but that's OK, I got it off. Overall, staff was friendly and training on the spot occurred during my transaction which I love to see! Watching team members build each other's knowledge willingly and kindly is what it's all about! I will forever love hot topic, been shopping here for 15 years lol

The store? Amazing; flawless even! I've come here to shop quite frequently over the last couple of months and because of this I've also grown to know the employees personally too! Each one of them is so talented and unique! However, more recently I've begun to see a decrease in happiness and moral in all the friends I've made here, and I've come to find out the biggest reason for this is because of the utmost disrespect and pettiness expressed by the GM named "Mikii". I've spoken to her and even been rung out on purchases by her a few times and always took her for being fairly friendly, albeit definitely in a world of her own. I've observed the staff darken over time and found that many of the employees have begun to quit or just no longer enjoy being in a place they can express themselves, in turn lowering the number of friends and warmth this store has brought me. The icing on the cake is that between the mini outlet and the store itself, you will find cards offering mental health help, and yet these practices are nowhere to be found in the store itself! I used to look forward to coming here for fun purchases and even more fun people to talk to, but the leadership in this store has crushed all these bright young people to the point it just feels gray to spend any time here at all. I will not spend another dollar here until it's changed.

Best hot topic in terms of service and variety. Staff I'd always great to work with and get help from as well.

Nice to see this store is still around. Even though I'm in my fifties, I am still referred to as "goth", so I can appreciate a lot of the items offered. I don't buy as often as I used to because I have had problems with items being cheaply made, falling apart, etc. Still fun to browse and occasionally pick up an item.

Used to be much better in terms of product. All they have now is products for movies, anime and rock groups.

Hot Topic is not what it used to be, now almost never find an item or merchandise worth buying. They should bring some of the old merch back and the good vibe it had before. Now it feels to bratty.

Any time I want to just "Get away" from hearing my step father pleasuring my mother and not finding out he drinks all of my mountain dew, I go here to remind myself I'm not alone. 5 stars, excellent customer service.

I love shopping here! I can find so many things that my daughter and I both love. They carry a huge variety of items, from candy to clothing to jewelry to hair color and more! If you can't find it in store, go online, and there is a huge selection to choose from that the store can't even hold. Yes, some items can be pricey, but the quality is great and will last you. They also always have promotions and sales happening. Don't forget to join their rewards club and download their app!

Everything here is either goth or mainstream and always over priced. Nothing really seems unique to the store and almost everything can be purchased elsewhere. They never have any decent deals or discounts either... Anything I do like here, is way too much and I end up getting the same thing or something similar online for less

Customer service was excellent! I utilize a scooter to get around. The store is set up for easy access!

usually have super good experiences here but today was actually kind of awful. cashiers were incredibly unhelpful and honestly i’d go as far as to say they were rude and dismissive. this is the only hot topic within an hour of me and i’ll be exclusively shopping online from now on.
