First, the good: Simple & clean. Breakfast had good coffee and kid friendly options like yogurt and make-your-own waffles. Beds were comfortable, and showers had ample hot water and good pressure. Some rooms were updated with newer finishes (showers, flooring & carpet). We had two rooms: one older & one newer. Both were clean and met our needs. The toiletries included a good body lotion that was particularly moisturizing. It was a good value. And now for the bad: the door of my room (320) had two broken locks. The dead bolt did not turn fully, and the security bar (at the top of the door) was broken off. The carpet was visibly old and worn. The top of the closet’s door frame was broken. The breakfast area was clean but not restocked enough. Each day something was not refilled: forks & tea bags one day, knives the next, dairy cream for coffee both days. The counter bin for the coffee making garbage was visibly full both days and not emptied, despite the attendant walking by and looking at things, and then walking away and not taking care of these things. I came down one hour and a half before breakfast was over so these things should have been restocked. For a hotel at this price point, it was decent. If I return to the area, I’d probably look for one that cost a bit more, for a more reliable experience. I try to be fair and honest with my reviews to provide judgement-free information to help others make choices know what to expect. Too many kids running wild. Staff missing in action most of the time. Pool area a disaster. Lobby outdated. Breakfast not edible. Always out of 24-hr coffee. They opened our room, blocked the door open, did not clean the room and left open room unsupervised. Thank God nothing was stolen.

The hotel was dirty. The room itself looked okay, but the rest of the hotel was gross. The pool area had dirty towels laying all over and hair in the pool. The pool water looked very dirty. The halls and carpet were dirty. We asked for a refund and were given one with no problems. The lady who took care of our refund was very nice and understanding. They are also going through renovations according to signs posted around the hotel. Maybe the renovations will help with the cleanliness down the road.

Our stay was perfect. We were able to check in a little early which was very helpful. We had two rooms. Both were right next to each other, remodeled and very, very clean. Comfortable mattresses and pillows. Sparkling shower with Dove soap, shampoo and conditioner. We had a mini fridge and a microwave in the rooms. The breakfast was excellent with cereal, bagels, a waffle machine etc. We were very close to the Naval Recruit Station which was very convenient as we were there for our daughter’s boot camp graduation. We had a great stay and excellent accommodations. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful as well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such great service!

This was one of the most incompetent group from management who rarely seemed to be available to the ones at the counter. Mostly the money. They gave the deposit back and charged 2 more times then give one back and charged again. Everytime we would call a manager wasn't available to do the refund but they will let them know them charge me again. I had to block the merchant from being able to charge me again after the 4 times I was charged and the inability to find a supervisor in charge I was done. I wouldn't use this location again. It was more of a headache than it was worth to get this resolved. It was a convenient location for graduation but still a lack of professionalism and a great deal of incompetence

We stayed here twice this year, my husband and I. First trip down was during their renovations so it was a little noisy and dusty, the pool was cold and hot tub was not hot, but customer service was awesome and all the front desk staff was great. This place is within walking distance to six flags great america so we stayed there again for our second trip down. This time they were finished with renovations and it was very clean. Same great front desk staff they were accommodating, polite, and even made us laugh a few times through our stay. Hot tub was PERFECT this time, pool still a little chilly, but the other people staying didn't seem to mind it, I was just there for the heat. Lol the pool room itself is beautiful. Only down side of the place is how much you can hear people in the hall and how loud the opening and slamming of doors can be in the am hours, but this is a pretty typical hotel issue down the board. Rooms are cute, well color and theme schemed, but pretty basic. We got a handicap accessible room this time and I wasn't a fan of the shower as the whole bathroom floor got drenched, wished there was a mirror in the shower room, and the water pressure was extremely low, or the shower head was bad, so it was hard to get shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. Will definitely be back to stay the next time we go for Great America.

I wouldn’t stay here again, please verify that everything is cleaned. We were tired and wanted to go straight to sleep. In the morning we were going to shower, but we when saw how dirty that tub was, we had to tell our children to not shower. That should never be the case.

Had reservations set. Plenty of parking, although check-in took a while. Have to wait for some one at the desk, you'd think someone would be there at 3pm since that's when many people can check in but apparently not. Dings 1 star. Rooms were nice, although wear n tear on the furniture, walls but it happens. Although what doesn't happen is the window not opening. It's stuck there since it's blocked. Very modern feel to it so definitely updated. The choice of bed sheets & pillows is questionable. Some places nearby to go to. McDonald's nearby, breakfast at 6a-9a, waffles are pretty big although that's pretty much all that fills me since other stuff didn't. Plenty of parking around the hotel, bring your own fire stick or something to plug into the TV, no good channels.

Great location near Six Flags. They were in the process of remodeling the rooms when I was there. I think we got a new room and it was nice. If you stay during this period you will probably see construction workers move stuff around the hotel during the week. The hot tub was big, and the pool was nice. The pool’s shallow end was around 3ft and the deep end was around 6ft. Breakfast was good. I just wish they had more fruit options than just apples. The hotel key cards were having troubles at this location. There was a line of people all having trouble with the keys and the hotel staff kept telling everyone the same thing that their phones caused it to get deactivated. At one point they need to realize that it’s probably time to figure out why the keys keep having issues. At times it was really difficult to find staff. I had to ask for pool towels a couple times and they never were able to provide them.

Pros: The ladies at the front desk were awesome! They were very nice, helpful, and just overall the BEST!!! The rooms are clean, bed was so comfortable, and thank goodness for the renovations because awhile back, the rooms has a distinct, terrible smell, either marijuana or a mildew-ish smell. Even though the facility is pet friendly, it was a nice change to not hear any dogs barking late at night or the middle of the night. Cons: Phone and lights weren’t working but one of the ladies at the front desk fixed those and thank you. The front of the toilet seems to have a slight leak when it was flushed. It was reported to front desk so I’m sure it will be repaired. I didn’t have any hot water the next morning for a shower so I did a “drive-thru” shower lol. I paid for a room with breakfast included. The breakfast needs to improve because it truly wasn’t all that at all. There was no eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage, none of that whatsoever. The breakfast during covid times were so much better tbh. So, overall it wasn’t bad. Just sometimes the little things matter most. The price for one night during the weekdays were a bit steep but what can you do right.

Once getting on elevator, a sign is posted saying to please excuse the motel. They're going through renovations due new owners and motel. No they had an infestation problem that's why the "renovations ". I didn't end up staying inside because if they had a control over the bed big problem, this wouldn't be still visible especially on the main door that a customer has to use to get out of their room see. I wouldn't recommend

I do not recommend this hotel! We checked in on Thursday June 29th, the hotel was dirty and cluttered. At no time prior to our arrival where we made aware that the property was under renovations. Once checked in, our room had plaster patches unfinished. My sister's room had tape completely encompassing her fire sprinkler in her room. Our room keys failed to work multiple times and one time they had to get the master key and told us not to use the security locks/deadbolt on the door. When we go to the desk with an issue with our keys no one asks for anything but our room number, no ID, which is a security risk. Anyone could walk up with a key and say, my key doesn't work give any room number and then enter any room onsite. We ask multiple days (4) in a row to have our rooms serviced, clean bedding, clean towels, trash removal, even for toilet paper. The staff was rude and uncaring.

I'm so happy to have stayed here the customer service was excellent the beds were amazing the pool was incredible the jacuzzi was wonderful. The fact that is next to cracker and barrel I'm next to Olive garden need an incredible stay especially because of the staff because this is not a new hotel and it does have construction going on but the employees made it feel like it was a five-star hotel when they say customer service makes a difference it really does I usually stay at Hilton but I was forced to stay here I was very surprised how good it was. I want to thank the staff for being incredible then meet this place become like secret getaway of happiness thank you to all the staff who work here really appreciate all of you I have met with all of you and I think you all doing a great job I hope you get raises and recognized for your work. I would suggest. The breakfast 🥞🥞🥞🥞 🍳🍳🍳🍳🍳 New contract with the big buffet across the street that would put you Golden corral so that we could all enjoy what Golden Corral's cooking because you're not a new hotel anymore what your food can be something no one can compete with so please take my feedback cut a deal with golden corral breakfast I make this place a secret getaway where you serve lunch breakfast make this hotel happy you can get better this is my feedback and don't make your staff cook anything cuz they're already working hard and they don't deserve to be having more work. Anyway incredible stay I look forward to coming back here again and see if you have implemented my feedback the staff I hope you are promoted you recognized for your excellent customer service then I found to be delightful an excellent thank you so much

Wonderful stay here! They are renovating; I wonder if they are under new management/ownership, because the negative reviews I saw that gave me pause before I booked in no way resembled the facility and experience. ~ Check in was fast and very friendly. ~ Room was fresh and new - lovely sheets, a duvet with a cover that was obviously freshly laundered (not a heavy bedspread that isn't washed every time - this obviously was not only washed, but also looked ironed) ~ Bathroom looked brand new ~ Breakfast area - spotless. Even the waffle machine - no drips. There was a nice selection: cold cereals, fruit, bread, bagels, a wrapped cinnamon roll, oatmeal, waffle maker, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. I mentioned to one of the staff how nice the breakfast was, and she was so happy and sweet. Very appreciative and and glad to hear that their hard work was noticed . ~ Check out - easy and again, very friendly. I again mentioned how nice the room was, and she was so glad to hear that we'd had a good stay. She said that the next time we came, the renovations would be finished and there would be a shop, and I think she also mentioned something else. They are obviously trying hard to raise the quality of the facility and the staff, and are doing a great job. One of the nicest stays at this type of hotel (Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express/Embassy Suites/Residence Inn/etc) that I've had. I will stay here the next time I'm in the area.

The room was fairly clean as was the bathroom. However there was a horrific odor in the lobby and the hallways. My son and I held our noses every time we left our room. There were times I was trying my hardest not to dry heave! It was embarrassing.

Kat is the BEST manager I've ever encountered at a hotel. She's awesome as can be. This place has the best hot tub, great pool, super comfy beds... Overall, one of the best experiences I've had with a La Quinta. I had to add to my original review because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. they have the best customer service I've ever experienced at a hotel. EVER. Vanessa is the sweetest, best customer service hotel worker. I've never been happier at a hotel.

The age of the building had us a little bit worried when we arrived. However, it seems they are making good progress on some updates. Our room appeared to be recently refreshed with flooring and bathroom upgrades. The bed was the most comfortable of our trip thus far. I personally loved that this location was serious about quiet hours, THANK YOU! Best night's sleep in days!! Which was especially impressive so close to an amusement park. And as the pictures show... this hotel was well stocked with toiletries and towels. Sadly breakfast was carb centric save some hard boiled eggs l but I guess that's just the new reality these days, and honestly it was a blessing because we found an amazing breakfast spot up the road a bit and truly enjoyed the options there. All in all it was a good night!

Reserved a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds, the room we were given reeked of cigarettes, even though it was designated as non-smoking. We requested a new room, all they had was a king bed and sofa bed, so my daughter had to sleep on the floor. Phone didn't work, lock was broken, and the fridge leaked.

The only... and I do mean the ONLY reason that I'm not giving this hotel a 5-Star review is because the pool chemicals were out of balance. The chlorine was high, and it wasn't as comfortable as it should be. I'll be heading back to this property in a few weeks, if it's adjusted, I'll adjust my post. *EDIT* went back, and the pool chemicals were adjusted. Great place. My family and I will stay here again!

Clean rooms, wonderful pool, awesome employees who work hard keeping the place nice, although there is never enough help, they do it all. Great price and a wonderful stay. I wish I had her name but I want to tell you about tve lady at the desk when we checked in on Sunday. She was busy but not too busy to help out everywhere.

The front desk receptionist is helpful, BUT management needs to get her some help. She does her job with a smile on her face but you can tell she is doing the job of 2 people. The breakfast area needs better tending to and you have to ring the bell multiple times to get an attendant. YOU GUYS CAN DO BETTER FOR YOUR GUESTS. WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING HERE AGAIN.

Very nice place to stay. Not very busy on a week day. Very comfy beds with ample pillows in the double room I rented. I did book ahead through a different site to save a little money. Always a good idea to check into before traveling. I'm not sure why their rating is so low. The receptionist at the front desk at check in and check out were both very friendly. The pool area wasn't the cleanest and a few other places. I give most of that thought to the lack of employment everywhere. The breakfast area was clean, but low if not out of some of the food an hour after starting time. Had to wait for the employee that works that area and mention what is out. I figure I wasn't in any hurry, if I was there was always cereal, muffins, or other items ready to eat.

Place was dirty. Lobby looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Overall, the whole place you could tell wasn’t clean. Rooms are over dated, which is okay if they looked cleaned or upkept. Room had a musky horrible smell. In one of the beds the sheets literally had stains. I booked this hotel, thinking it would be decent. For the price of one night ($167) you can find something elsewhere. If you’re thinking about booking a room here you should probably reconsider. The positive thing about the hotel I must say was that the front staff, was friendly and helpful, especially the morning lady with black hair. Breakfast was pretty good too. Honestly, if they focus on making sure the place is clean & presentable the outdated rooms would be okay.
