I have eaten breakfast in multiple restaurants in the Chicagoland area, and I always prefer to visit local places. I would definitely confirm that Riverside Cafe is one of my top 3 restaurants to have breakfast. A clean place, modern, with exceptional service and awesome food. Our server was Ivan, a great young gentleman who gives the extra mile to provide the best service you could get. If you are in the Libertyville, Waukegan, and/or Gurnee areas, you definitely need to visit and have breakfast here. 100% recommended!

Delectable breakfast place that not only has great food but a great kids options also. French toast was fantastic and service was top notch. Would come back again just for the coffee alone

OK it starts with a smiling face that greets you genuinely followed by another smiling face and an actual pot of coffee on your table. Then the fun begins. This is a great menu with many items we will be back for. The food came out hot and tasty and flavorful. The atmosphere was great and the service top notch. We will definitely be back.

Recently tried this cozy lil venue a couple of months ago for the very first time and my wife & I liked it. Pleasant atmosphere at a good spot in Gurnee boasts good food if not a bit pricy, friendly service and a spiffy clean/sanitized dining area. I could definitely return here being I'm always longing for a good ol' fashioned home cooked breakfast and not too far from our house in Beach Park.

Our first dine-in was very enjoyable! The staff is friendly and customer service was exceptional! The inside was clean and modern. I really liked their setup. They had a few Mexican twists on the menu which I recommend you try! My husband and I ordered Lavender-vanilla oat milk latte, iced vanilla-hazelnut latte with oat milk, meat lovers skillet, and the combo+French toast. Was was FRESH! We also ended getting an iced matcha latte with oat milk to go 🤪

Was on a road trip and Riverside Cafe came up as a great place for breakfast. I stopped in and was happily greeted, quickly sat and served. The food was delicious and they were some of the most friendly folks I found along the road trip! Would love to stop in again when I am in the area. My favorite little coffee place. They have great omlettes and breakfast sandwiches cute place to come with the family or by yourself!

The place was nice. We chose outside seating, and there were no bugs. Servers went above and beyond. I am wfpb, and the menu had a few obvious vegetarian options. I talked to the server, and she pointed out even more vegetarian options that did not directly say vegetarian. Overall I was pleased. The food was really fresh and tasty

Surviving the pandemic is a testimony to the quality of people and food is this restaurant. We were greeted by the staff with open arms, literally. So welcoming. Our server was so nice and the food was delicious. I had the carnitas eggs Benedict. I couldn't get that array or taste bud explosions with just anything else. Coffee was very good as well. My wife got one of the omelets and it was fluffy and very tasteful. Definitely going back and bringing our son.

I visited this breakfast place that had decent food but huge portion sizes. While the quality of the food was good, the amount of food served was almost overwhelming - maybe great for a lot of people. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff and a laid-back vibe. The food was enjoyable enough. This may be a good spot for someone who has a big appetite or is looking to share a meal with a friend or family member. Overall, I would recommend this breakfast place for the huge portion sizes and decent menu options.

9am, had the turkey sandwich w/ sweet potato waffles😋. The service & food was great!! Will definitely be back! 💯 Love the design of the place as well! The setup is calming & welcoming 😊

Their lavender latte is reasonably priced and yummy compared to some big brand. I give 4 stars on almond croissant since it's not freshly out of oven on the breakfast table.

I got the barbacoa chilaquiles and they were just ok. No spice level whatsoever. They use what i think is Doritos as the tortillas and the sauce was underwhelming. The meat was good but this place lacked authenticity. The taste does not meet the price, way too expensive for what you get sad to say which is why im giving a 3 star.

The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The food delicious and the cinnamon roll latte to die for! All the wait staff was so friendly and welcoming. Our server was especially awesome. He would carry on a conversation with our babbling toddler without missing a beat. Loved coming here and will definitely be back!

Stopped here on our way out of town. The food was great. Delicious pancakes. Hubs and I both had items from the specials menu - protein banana pancakes and carnitas skillet. Both excellent. Drinks were good too. I always appreciate the opportunity for unique menu items and drinks that you can't get everywhere. But service was lacking today. Only saw our server to take our order, deliver the food, and deliver the bill after sitting finished for some time. Never checked up on us to see if we needed anything else or asked if we needed any drink refills.

We had our monthly luncheon here and I tell you what. It was the best to date , our server Emanuel was truly instrumental is the fun, awesome service and special attention.My husband wanted true spicy salsa, The chef made a special salsa for him. A wonderful combination Emanuel and the Chef. We will be back. The Shriners will pass the word. Again, I cant express what a delightful time we all had. October 19,2022 Thank you

Cute little place. It has a cool, casual vibe! We had the coffee flight and weren’t sure about the flavors, but they were perfectly paired and all tasted great. We had the banana protein pancakes, and eggs Benedict for breakfast. Will definitely go back!

I really wanted to like this place. I came with my 9 year old. We sat down, water came quick, but the waiter took a bit. I know it was a Saturday about 10 am.. The waiter came and took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order food.. we did. But when asking if they sell crepes ala carte, he said yes and proceeded to ask if we wanted a half order as my daughter wouldn’t finish the entire order. So she took the half order and then wanted a side of bacon. At this point I feel he should have mentioned that it would cost me bout $1 more to get the combo and crepes to get more food and possibly have a to go portion. I feel they should mention what makes sense and get the best bang for your buck. I have added pictures to better explain what I’m saying. During our breakfast no one came to ask how we were doing, if we needed anything or wanted anything. They picked up our plates, I paid from the receipt. And we left. My chilaquiles were good but my girl said the crepes tasted like metal..only ate on from the half order..

mmmmMMMMMMMMMmmmm the food was so DAMN busting. i know what you’re thinking like maybe this place isn’t worth the money….. BUT! no, if you passed this place already turn the HECK around !!! i would pay $100 to experience the chicken avocado wrap for the first time again. the latte? BUSS. the soup? BUSS. the burger? BU BU BU BUSS. i can’t put this wrap down there is avocado all over my phone pls get the chicken wrap oh my lordy.. i want to meet the chef so i can kiss him on the forehead and tell him he’s doing a great job. our server? VERY nice. lovely lady. 10/10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

OVERALL: This Breakfast/Lunch place is fantastic. There is a variety of seating. Table, booth, high tops, outdoor. They primarily serve breakfast, lunch, and coffee items. There is a window to the kitchen area. SERVICE: Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive to details. The service was nice to each other as well as the customers. Food: The menu was simple but has a great variety to it. Food was served hot and quickly! Very good flavor. IS IT CLEAN? Place appeared clean including the kitchen area. No table was left with a mess. COST/Food: good value for the amount of food you get.

I ordered a pick-up which took 40 minutes to be prepared ~ they were BUSY! But, the food was really good, even though it was sitting for a while I think. I can't wait to dine inside for a better review. And, there are several outside tables, which will be perfect in the summer!
