Ive lived in Evanston for over a year now and thought it was time to give this place a try. I stopped in at lunch and ordered their roast pork chow mein lunch special. To say it was horrible would be an understatement, it was composed of mostly mushy bland "fried rice" with about a scoop of chow mein, all wedged into a small foil container. While eating it I found a few random strands of noodles in my dish, and since this dish doesn't have noodles in it...... where did they come from? Im assuming this food was pre-made judging from the taste and consistency, much like steam table food. They majority of this food went straight into the garbage, a complete waste of money. And to add insult to injury, not even a thank you when I paid for my food, or it was handed to me. Take a look at the photos, it even looks nasty.

The veggie dumplings are delicious, flavorful, & so doughy! It’s the perfect ratio of savory filling to warm, soft dough in each bite. I mean my god they’re the best i’ve ever had 😋 🥟 The delivery was quick, the driver dropped off the order on my front steps, called me & kept his safe distance. Cannot say good enough things about this place 👍🏽👍🏽

I ordered from here a few weeks ago and it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The General Tsao’s tofu was especially awful and inedible. This was my first time here, and it sounds like they lost their chef recently? Bottom line: there is better in Evanston.

Excellent customer service, very nice people. Great at honoring special requests like extra sauce or sending plates, without being asked, when I mentioned I was away from home. This is classic Chinese-American style so there are a lot of deep fried foods, sweet sauces, etc. But if you want to eat lighter, they do have steamed entrees and brown rice. My favorites are the pork dumplings, shrimp toast, egg foo young, beef with scallions, lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, curry chicken and brown rice. Pretty much everything on the menu is good. I've been a customer for 12 years so they are very consistent.They rarely have ever made a mistake or disappointed in over a decade.

When I lived in Chicago, this was a staple of my diet. It's nice to see the food is still amazing. I highly recommend the Sesame Chicken. It's still the best I've ever had. On a side note, be careful in the parking lot. People are out begging for money and will literally come up to your car and knock on your window to ask. Stay classy Chicago.

Restaurants in the State of Illinois seem to have total discretion over who they deem worthy of Good Food & Good Customer Service. There does not appear to be a Government Agency In Illinois that monitors and penalize restaurants for serving bad quality food to unsuspecting innocent customers who just need some decent restaurant food to eat, because cooking for themselves is just too troublesome. I ordered a large Fried Rice with Chinese Vegetables and Jumbo Shrimps. Drooling over the prospect of happily eating a delicious meal, as per my culinary requirements, imagine my disappointment to find the Fried Rice Dinner did not have Chinese Vegetables and also did not have Jumbo Shrimps. I called Hunan Spring and complained, but to no avail. No More of My Money for Hunan Spring.

Great service and good food. Great for take out or eating in. My favorite menu items are General Tso's Chicken and they have the best Crab Rangoon! Yum!! A five minute walk from the South Blvd Purple Line stop in Evanston. If you're in the area check them out!! Today I ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special that comes with an egg roll and fried rice. Great food at an excellent price during the lunch special.

I ordered around 1 pm, got the food, and the rice was yellow. I assumed they starting making their rice a new way and ignored it. Early this morning around 10 am I was violently throwing up everywhere. That was the only thing I had eaten that day and I have no underlying conditions. I strongly believe the food was old/from the previous day.

Forgot the rice in my takeout order. The hot and sour soup was fantastic, General Tso’s chicken was good and everything else just okay.

My first and last time ordering here- I ordered shrimp and lobster sauce- not even close to the recipe- they included green peas I. The sauce - totally unheard of - the sauce was white and very thin - but date absolutely nothing like any shrimp in lobster sauce - disgusting

Hunan recently became my local chinese restaurant. I used to go to Wok cuisine in albany park and they were hard to beat, but man this spot is 5/5! Been here about 5 times now and all times they have not disappointed in service, quality and portion! Will definitely keep coming back

My family and I loved this place. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back. We had the noodle stir fry and the kungpao set. Both amazing!

Speedy service, good atmosphere, inexpensive food, clean environment. Their fruit smoothies are so good. I do recommend this place.

BEST Chinese food in the area! I’ve eaten here countless times and have never had an issue with my order. Great service and delicious food!

I highly recommend their fried rice and anything from their wok. I always get their shrimp fried rice. They load it with decent sized shrimp that is perfectly cooked and fresh tasting. Rice is great; it's got that authentic subtle smokiness from the 'wok hei'. Not overpowering not too salty. Nice clean interiors. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Great Cantonese. They have lo mein chop suey and chow fun in addition to standards.

My favorite thing to order here is the seafood soup-adding side of red chili pepper sauce on the side to spice it up! This soup always makes me feel better when I'm feeling "under the weather" or not!

DISGUSTING THE CHICKEN WNGS HAD FEATHERS ALL OVER THEM AND WAS UNDERCOOKED! I called the restaurant and had to ask for a refund I don’t know if they are going to refund me though. The guy asked me how many I ate NONE! I threw them in the Trash! I’m calling the health department Monday morning this is a health hazard and unacceptable.

When we called days in advance, they said they were open on Christmas. We ordered online and then…nothing. No delivery and no answer at the restaurant.

It's very good, if a little pricey on the main menu. The lunch menu has good value.

Awesome Chinese food at a great price. Fast service, been going there for 12 years. Recently they added a nice sitting area but I usually order takeout or delivery. Highly recommended.

THE best General Tso's chicken I've ever had in my entire life, and I've searched all over to find one better. If you love General Tso's please give this place a try, I'm fairly positive you won't regret it.

Enjoyed the Sesame Chicken and ShreddedChicken with Eggplant! Nicely spiced with a generous amount of rice and good appetizers added to this 5 star rating. Will order again!
