This is the best brunch I have had in long time. The staff was super friendly and attentive. My steak was perfectly cooked. The omelet station was spot on with several good choices to use in the egg. The waffle station was fun yummy and soft and delicious berries. The salmon and shrimp was fresh. The chocolate bread was a unique flavor. Desert station oh boy is all I can say. Will be back also had a martini and the oj was fresh squeezed oh so fresh

Decent establishment, great food, treasure for Gurnee. First time I visited was because I hadn't made a reservation at my initial local choice. This is a good place. Their breakfast/brunch is spot on, good alternative if waiting or crowds aren't your thing. Additionally, this establishment deserves credit for being respectful to women and supportive of female business endeavors.

Holy cow! The steak! The desserts! The drinks! The service! Seriously some of the best of everything we've had in recent memory. Even the music they play is awesome. We've heard michael jackson, the Moana soundtrack, and The Clash! Order as much as you possibly can from here. Simply fantastic.

A+!! Wow. My friend and I just visited here for the first time for their Sunday brunch. From the warm environment, the gorgeous fireplace and perfect lighting, to the beautiful and scrumptious buffet: eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, freshly sliced sirloin, made to order waffle stick creations and omelets, the scones, the pastries, the mini crème brûlée deserts, cake pops, cookies, brownies…the buffet list goes on… the freshly ground coffee that comes with adorable sugar cubes and mini dark chocolate sticks to stir- the freshly squeezed orange juice that brought back childhood memories; we literally felt like we had died and gone to Heaven 😍🥰. The staff were all super kind and very accommodating, and the price was perfect for a tight pocket book. I’ve paid a lot more at restaurants for A LOT less. The Chocolate Sanctuary gets a 20 out of 10; we’re looking forward to going back for many more extremely enjoyable visits.

We came to celebrate our coworker's BD. The food and the presentation were so awesome! Loved the butternut soup with chocolate infused bacon; my fish was yummy with 3 different flavors. The tea named Love was outstanding! Sanctuary Turtle Mousse Mist - was spectacular! Also our waitress was very nice and helpful. Loved our experience there. Very beautiful interior. Would definitely come back.

I really enjoyed the butternut squash soup. The desserts were very good and they prepared the lamb nicely. The lamb came with a cauliflower puree that was very bitter instead of creamy. The salmon my spouse had was very fishy so I think it was slightly old and/or overcooked because it was dry. The cocktails were delicious.

Just had appetizers and drinks but they were very good i had a chocolate cherry martini and the wife had tetos w/club soda. We shared an order of the sticky ribs! They were very good! The menu items we were not impressed by so we went somewhere else for dinner.

This is a Must go to place! Went today with my boyfriend and we were both very much pleased! Today we went for breakfast buffet which was an absolutley Amazing experience from the moment we walked in. Customer Service was Amazing and very friendly. We really liked how they cook everything fresh for you on the spot! The price is very reasonable and their food is delicious and fresh! We will definitely be going back! Chicken Waffles, Bacon Waffles and so much more! The restaurant is Beautiful as well as the food! Everyone there is very Professional and Friendly!

The place is AMAZING!! especially if your favorite color is Purple!! I felt like it was my birthday 🥰 Food was amazing! On par with high-end dining. Don't expect to get oversized American portions. Except to have an amazing high end dinning experience in a cozy purple setting 🥰 I had a beer salad with goat cheese and a cocoa infused balsamic dressing. It was a great size! Saved room for dessert, which we had peaches and cream creme brulee! So delicious!!

Fancier type of place. Great for a nice romantic dinner. Hangar steak good but small for the price. Desserts are of good size and quality. Good atmosphere and ambiance. I definitely left hungry but for a change of pace and chef-inspired food, check it out. Don't be put off by the male manager who has the personality and demeanor of a rock.

Very mediocre food with a delightful atmosphere. Our appetizer was great (fried Brussels sprouts) and our bread was fantastic with a chocolate butter, but the actual food was bland. It sounded very extravagant on the menu but it was extremely mediocre. I did not enjoy the burger, chicken or fish and would have rather eaten at home. The cake was extremely rich. I cannot stress how rich this cake was as it was at least two steps above a flourless chocolate cake. However, I still enjoyed it. I think a better alternative (if you were to venture to this place) would be to just get drinks and appetizers.

The Chef's Dinners were an experience unto themselves. Creative, fun, and delicious. The people here were wonderful and kind and wherever they land will be the better for having them. Wishing the best for the owners in the next phase of their lives. ❤️

They have a new chef that is expert at crafting a taste experience. He thinks through the details of each plate, so that the flavors compliment each other properly. The desserts are wonderful and everything is absolutely fresh. Prices are reasonable given the quality.

I was full, but couldn't stop eating my steak. Every phase of the dinner was fantastic.

Delicious food and great ambience. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed for Friday night and the hostess seemed annoyed. We booked via OpenTable for birthday but it didn't seem the restaurant/hostess wanted to acknowledge while waiting for our table. Not a big deal but most other places we visited, acknowledge or wish you which shows businesses putting some effort in knowing their customers. The staff worked well together - when our server was busy and we reached out to another server, he was responsive rather than trying to avoid the table. The Mahi Mahi is good. The day we visited, the restaurant menu offered Tofu curry with rice which was very close to Indian dish. Drinks, food are different with cocoa infusion (mild) but is an experience and not too sweet. The highlight is chocolate bread and cheese plate appetizers.

The food and service were outstanding!!! The restaurant selection in the area seemed sparse but this place had great reviews and it lives up to expectations!!! I would come again if I come back to the area!

Really excellent people and food here. Try the short rib poutine, it is to die for. The bread is also really good. The coffee choice is perfect to compliment the chocolate they use. Not too bitter, not too sweet. They also have a gorgeous fireplace in the center of the dining room. We really like this place. You will too. I hope.

Great food and a great atmosphere. We went for the set menu special dinner club. So cool. The chef came out and explained the history and making of the dish. Very fun and highly recommend. I thought the drinks were over priced though.

Came for the Elvis chef's dinner. We were celebrating my mother's and her friend (JUNE) 90th Birthday's. What a fantastic dinner. the food was excellent. Starting with the pork belly with cauliflower. My favorite was there version of Chicken and waffles. Great music, great food. EXCELLENT staff. Wish we could have stayed later, but at 90, when mom and her friend want to leave, we leave.

A little bit of chocolate in everything. I went there for a engagement party we had a large open space with the windows facing the outside. The food was good and for the most part, tasty. They had two appetizers which was a chicken leg and quiche also very good. For entree, I had the chicken with breading and a slice of round mozzarella cheese on it. Are the only negative thing I have to say about this place was that they pounded the chicken breast too skinny, I didn't even taste the chicken. The mozzarella on top was not soft and added no flavor. However the balsamic chocolate vinaigrette they laid on top was good. The side salad was delicious with its tiny tomatoes and fancy lettuce. I enjoyed the Coco infused homemade chips. We all enjoyed the two flavor of chocolate mousse. Staff were accommodating and very nice the place is very clean and the bathroom has a very interesting waterspout and dryer all in one.

I love everything about this place; the food's taste and appearance, the atmosphere, the service... We come here every time we want to celebrate something. I highly recommend it!

My wife and I my wife and I came here for our anniversary brunch. The food and service were outstanding. They are meticulous about social distancing and mask requirements during this tough time. Everyone was great and friendly, from our server to our bussers, to the gentleman cooking the omelettes. One of the owners, came over to our table to greet us personally and told us about their new chef, who is definitely outstanding at his job. We just found our new go-to restaurant for all special occasions. I can’t wait to come back for dinner. This was definitely a five-star experience.

Certainly a place worth visiting, the food is excellent and well prepared, the costs are reasonable and it is always neat there. 5 stars.

I love the food here. Sunday morning brunch is a little different right now, but the guy that makes the omelettes makes everything awesome. He can make a great omelette....and always has this amazing happy vibe that is very contagious.

The food is very good (special recognition to the pastry chef who seated us and brought the most delicious pecan sticky bun I've ever had, fresh from the oven). We really enjoyed the brunch (even in its modified form where the server gets the food for you (still all you can eat though). That said, the service from the waitstaff was very slow - our waitress forgot some elements of the order multiple times even though we filled out the order on paper. Otherwise - it's a 5 star experience!

I expected a few flaws after their being closed for the pandemic. Not as many as we experienced. There didn't appear to be clear dilineations of responsibility among the staff. It was quite chaotic.

This place is great. The food is prepared from scratch so if you like to male changes it can be done. The atmosphere is so perfect, very happy and joy filled. Perfect for meal conversation. I know when we were there not a single person was on their phone except to look through the menu after they orders all of the patrons were talking and appeared to be having as pleasant a time as my party.I highly recommend it for anytime you want jist want to leave the outside world be hind and just have great meal.
