This place is amazing great food and huge portions I just wanted lunch but I got dinner as well. The food is also amazing. The guy on the phone that took the order was very nice and communication was beautiful. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Fan favorite at my house! We love the shrimp toast, chicken teriyaki and honey walnut shrimp. Calling in can sometimes take a second try because of a busy line - but that has improved since they no long require you to call when you get there for curbside pickup.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and when we got home I had 4 little I mean little chunks of pineapple and green bell pepper. That was all in a big container of sauce! The chicken was so fried so crispy I couldn’t eat it. I used to love this place and am really saddened that I now have no Chinese restaurants in Lake or McHenry counties worth eating.

TAKE OUT ONLY!!! The staff are very friendly. The menu selection is amazing ick up order spot next to the handicap parking. They had handicapped parking ♿ right in front.

First time trying this restaurant so ordered the appetizer platter/ sampler to taste things plus 2 other entrees. As for appetizers: fried wontons were tasteless and cooked in old oil, BBQ pork smelled rancid so didn’t even try, fried shrimp was ok, crab Rangoon was good, egg roll just ok. Entrées: Chicken chop suey was decent. Beef chow fun also decent. Overall it was just ok. I question that bbq pork however, seriously did they sell us bad meat? - I wasn’t going to risk it. Will try other Chinese restaurants.

Ordered delivery. Great service. The WORST Chinese food I've ever had. The Mongolian Beef didn't even look right and tasted like salt water. The egg rolls are almost without flavor. The shrimp fried rice is bland. This isn't even acceptable for the suburbs. I'm really sorry because I feel bad leaving this review but we paid over $80 for our food and feel like half of it will be tossed. If I could say anything good, it's that the ingredients seem fresh and not overcooked, but it's like they think we can't handle good flavor. This food is for mouth breathers. If you have any kind of palate, run.

This restaurant is an institution in Mundelein. The food is fantastic. Plan ahead as they get busy. They are busy because the food is good. It is take away. There is a small parking lot, getting in and out can be troublesome. But the food is worth it. Make a point to stop here, you will thank yourself.

I love Asian cuisine. I'm new to the area and ordered from this place, anticipating the great flavors and textures a person like me would expect. With delivery and tip my order was approx $50.00 This was by and large the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything I ordered tasted terrible except the pre-made egg rolls. Do not waste your money.

Food cooked with heart. I don't have the vocabulary skill to express in written form my love for this restaurant. Portions are bountiful, quality is superb, taste is delicious. A gem of a family run restaurant that my wife n I go to weekly as part of a date night.

We have been eating from here since highschool, 20+ years ago, when it was a small spot near Walgreens. This is the best Chinese Food in Lake Co. Hands DOWN!! Always super hot, super fresh and super fast. Man I miss this place so much. I'm coming out this month for my birthday, can't wait. Love ya HKCS.

Eh.... Not sure what all the hype is about, had several people recommend this place. We ordered some noodle and standard Chinese dishes and they all were sub-par, having little to no flavor other than the oil they were cooked in.... Place still remains closed for dine in, and food took longer than promised (you'll wind up standing in the entrance way with 8 ~ 10 others waiting for your food).

This is definitely my favorite Chinese Restaurants in the area. I asked them when they were going to open the dining in part, but they said not this year. It is one of the few restaurants that I have gone to alone and not felt out of place. They are genuinely gracious, the food is delicious and the price is right where it should be. I particular like the appetizers, especially the shrimp toast. Thank you Hong Chong for all of the above.

Ordered delivery from Hong Kong Chop Suey by doordash, so my review will only be in regards to the food. Overall we were pleased, but I have to agree with other reviews that the dishes are a bit bland overall. The General Tso's chicken was our favorite, but the BBQ Pork Fried Rice that came with it might as well have been white rice for all the flavor it had. The Crab Rangoons were good, but were utterly absent of even a wisp of Crab taste. The Chicken Chow Mein was by far the least impressive, it was a gooey, starchy, flavorless glop. Not the worst Chinese food I've had in the area, but certainly nothing to write home about.

I ha e been a customer for many years I ordered pick up and the food was terrible except the egg rolls. I ordered BBQ pork fried rice and got chicken the rice was terrible. Ordered fine cut pork chop suey and it was horrid. Ordered pork egg Foo young that was chicken, not bad but not what I ordered. I will nol onger be spending my hard earned money there. Don't know what happened they use to be great.

We have been going here for many years there egg rolls are all handmade and absolutely delicious! We usually get there cashew beef with pineapple fried rice with pork and crab ragoon. Thats our go to meals but all there food is really good kids love there sweet and sour chicken.

I ordered delivery and the food was delivered on time and was hot. The portions were good but I did not like the food that I had ordered that much. They were not common dishes though. I will try the place again. Delivery and portions were good but I am hoping that the food would be better next time.

I'm sorry I can only give you guys a five it should be a 10 . The food is always excellent the gentleman taking my order was very nice. Unfortunately I live about an hour away. Which is kind of good because I would be eating there everyday if I live closer. Don't change a thing

This is the best place within several miles and is worth the trip. They have fantastic crab Rangoon and potstickers. My wife and my favorite appetizers, respectively. They do so much business that after covid, they just stayed a take out place. Even though they make food really fast, their call line gets ba ked up the later it gets.

The best egg rolls in town, although they have greatly shrunk!! Great hot and sour soup, chop suey and beef chow me in. Shrimp Egg foo young is also good. The fried shrimp appetizer is also great!

We went to this place several times when we were in Mundelein for about a month. From its external appearance we didn't expect and indeed it was quite a surprise to find how delicious the food they make. It was a total package - the food was amazing, their service is commendably fast (especially with the volume of orders they receive, mostly takeout), the front desk is friendly and fluent in English, and the prices are very reasonable for the quantity (and quality) of the food they offer. It was this unbeatable combination that compelled us to order from here multiple times. We are vegetarian so we only tried noodle-based and tofu-based entrees; therefore, I cannot comment on the quality of the meat-based counterparts. Now, to present a fair picture, the food is, not to hide, quite oily and may not be using the most healthy of ingredients. But it's made for taste and not for health reasons. If you don't mind indulging, I'd recommend to try it out; you won't be disappointed.

If you’re interested in take out for Chinese food this place is my spot. I live in Chicago and I have to say this place is best you’re gonna find in the burbs. The egg rolls are always good and not little at all. The lunch specials are also good. The portions are huge and the price is great for the amount of food that is given. My only gripe for this place is that I have to travel 45 minutes to get my fix of their food.

COVID has destroyed the chances of dining in. But thank goodness that won't keep me away. A jewel of Mundelein for decades. One of my favorite places to go to whenever Im in the area.

I ordered from this location and was very disappointed. The shrimp with lobster sauce contained beef-not lobster. In addition, my order didn’t include all the items ordered. I will not order from this establishment again. Buyer beware.

Overall, pretty good. Huge portions! It would have been good if they packed the shrimp and nest separately so the noodles aren’t soggy. They are only take out and delivery at the moment.

The egg rolls are perfect. The beef chop suey... not so much. Go with the general tsao chicken instead. Parking is a little tricky, but it can be worked around.

It has long been our favorite Chinese takeout food, but a recent visit was a bit of a disappointment. The quality of the ingredients seems to have been okay, but the flavor was very bland, with very little taste. It could be a one off incident.
