A great park, walking distance to both the waterfront and the marina. You can park in the garage if you get there early in the morning or do the paid parking along the shore. The playground is equipped with swings, slides and splash zones for the kids( not to much covering). We recommend going early before the suns to high and the play equipment gets too hot.

Easily one of the best vantage points to take in the city’s bold picturesque skyline, especially at dusk/night. Love coming here to unwind and refocus. The park district does a nice job maintaining the LFT walking & biking pathsβ€”along with keeping the beaches clean during the beach season. Just a short 1 mi hike north to McCormick Place/2 mi to Museum Campus/3mi to Hyde Pk, the 31st Street Beach is what I like to call the heart of the Lakefront Trail. Chicago is fortunate to have so many miles of beautiful shoreline parks & trails. πŸŒ‡πŸŒŠ

Had bad experience cause by stinky garbage all around the parking. Please pickup your belongings people. But love the view here. Wish we could come again. There was a women, kind of have mental issues had tried to push us away by touching our belongings and take off her panty infront of our kid. We stay away and people are running out of this beach. What should we do in this situation???

No grills of any type welcomed and I'm grateful. This like most of the beach, is a beautifully constructed and well thought-out landscape. In addition to the restaurant, skate park, playground, and lush grounds this seating area is a gorgeous bonus for lake front visitors. #inspiring. It's an awesome space for meditation early in the morning, writing in the afternoon and a romantic walk in the evening.

I love coming to this beach. It’s a perfect spot to view the skyline, go for a walk/run, or bike. Very diverse. Usually not too crowded either and pretty clean.

Prepare to wait for public parking. Good view of the city skyline, has a restaurant onsite, kid-friendly. Near the skatepark and Mccormick Place.

Rented a boat that launched from this beach and the views are incredible from here. It’s quiet and less crowded then any other beach.

This Place is Awesome on Thursday afternoon through the evening. No other place in the city can you experience so many groan and sexy people having the time of their Life. This is what the city of Chicago is all about. Hope you get to have a positive experience there at least one time this summer. Most come every Thursday through out the summer to experience great House Music and Amazing people.

I’ve been here so many times over the past few summers and some days the beach is completely trashed. People come, bbq, party and leave their trash everywhere. It’s so sad to see how ignorant so many people are. On good days the beach looks absolutely beautiful and the views of downtown look absolutely amazing. There’s always people everywhere which makes for a great atmosphere there is always music playing and people selling food and drinks.

Great Beach with an excellent view! Located just north of the Harbor, this beach has a drop off steps from the sand. Newer facilities and a food service deck make this a must visit location!

Another beautiful β€œBeach” in Chicago for you to visit this spring/summer! Even though it was a bit of a bus ride away from me, I was so happy when I arrived and took in the view of the city & the lake all at once. Lovely place to go during the day or before the sun sets πŸ˜πŸŒ†

Great beach. Has everything you would ask from a beach. Grass areas with lots of trees for shade. Paid parking, grass area and beach in close proximity so great for elderly. Also handicap access to the beach. Fast food restaurant, washrooms, outside shower and play area for kids with swings and slides. It connects to the lakefront trial. If you keep walking south you get to the basketball courts and skating area. Must visit.

Really not much to say about going to the beach. I hadn't been there in a car since I was a kid. I got there early since it was the weekend of Lalapalooza, and the parking lots were clean and almost empty. The only problem I had was paying for the time I was planning on being there. I attempted to use my debit card, but the Internet connection the parking ticket machine used must have been dial up - extremely slow! After the transaction timed out, I wound up raiding my stash that I keep in my car for emergencies, and everything went fine. It got crowded on the bike path as expected later in the morning, but I still managed to have a good time.

A beautiful relaxing lake front experience. It was very relaxing. Finding it is a bit challenging to find the entry to the parking lot, but well worth the effort. Take your lunch, relax and enjoy nature!

One of my favorite spots. You can enjoy the view of downtown high-rise buildings. You can BBQ there.

Beautiful landscape, and great views of the lakeshore and downtown high-rises. This is a great place to sit and relax and watch the water and Nature. The beach part is relatively small when compared to that at some other city beaches like North Avenue Beach or Rainbow Beach.

The 31st Street Harbor is an awesome and wonderful beach! I liked that they had a place area for kids and lots of sitting area to rest and do some sightseeing. They also had a beautiful landscape and picnic spots in bushes near the McCormick building. I would love to come and visit again here.

Retarded administrator. They let people drive in all the way then theu tell them that the parking is full. So frustrating. When we left a decided to ask why there are no signs announcing the full parking, they said that they are there but no one read them. I'm pretty sure there was not 2 hours ago when we came. Anyhow if there was a sign that people can't read, its because its inadequately placed. Beside that they were selecting who enters to the parking lot, for others it was full. Frustrating way to spend the long waited day off!!
