I didn't know about this little gem in the heart of North downtown Chicago. A beach, near the heart of the city. I love it. The food Is great, the sand is clean, tons of law enforcement, there was a volleyball tournament going on and the people was having the time of their lives. Hands down this is the best part of the city. I now know the trade Secret of many Chicagoans and where they go off to have fun. It's north avenue Beach. I had a ball and a half enjoying every part of it.

Very beautiful place. You can enjoy the sunset. You can enjoy the feet on the sand. You can also enjoy the cold lake water. Some people even go to swim. Also you can play the volleyball too. Here is really wonderful place. Always feeling chill to stay there. It feels like the wave will take all of your thinking away. But hoping people who coming here, had better taking your garbage away. And bring the beautiful beach for everyone.

Enjoyed the North Avenue Beach while on vacation with family to Chicago! Didn’t get to stay too long, but the weather was perfect and there’s quite a bit to do out there. Hanging out in the sand, renting jet skis or kayaks, or beach volleyball courts were available. Next time we will definitely plan more time to just enjoy the weather and relax.

It’s a very nice and one of the best beaches of Lake Michigan along Chicago’s lake front. It is usually the first beach which gets crowded during the weekends, either it is Oak street beach. I think it is the largest beach in chicago city too. It has a lot of space of seating and beach sports. Also it has some stretch out areas to the lake which allows you to take good photos of chicago skyline. It is very close to oak street beach and at the same time very close to Lincoln park.

Clear and clean water. Very enjoyable to swim. Sees the Chicago skyline. Not too crowded although we went on a Saturday. I would come here again.

So glad we stopped here! We paid for city bikes and rode the boardwalk. One of my favorite things of the trip! I love how there is a big city and beach so close to each other!

It is a nice beach very close to Chicago skyline..you will not find many places to eat..but otherwise it's good. Had gone on the day of the Air Show so loved it...

We visited the North Avenue Beach today to watch the Chicago Air and Water Show. It was the perfect vantage point to see the air show. Seems like it would be a nice place to relax and enjoy the beach just a short walk from the busy Chicago streets.

Nice spot to relax. This beach is relatively quiet, and the piers offer a nice spot to sit and survey the lake.

Enjoyed another chill beach in this awesome city. The sand is not as soft as Ohio Street beach, but it’s bigger and there is a very lively restaurant on a ship nearby if you feel like having a party.

Such a beautiful beach close to the city. Organized, with restaurants and cafes, plenty of space for sports. Sandy beach to enjoy the sun or take a walk under the cloudy sky.

The view of the North Avenue Beach is so surreal that you cannot really believe this is a lake, not an actual beach! Whether you are here for a walk or a jog, by yourself or in good company, I am 100% certain that you will have a memorable time here. I have equally enjoyed visiting the North Avenue Beach this summer & winter! 🌊

Fantastic beach that hosts air shows every summer, right by the lakeside trail so if you visit here prepare to do some walking. The beach is large and people usually very respectful about cleaning up after themselves.

Great beach. It definitely got better over the years. I was skeptical about going today but we ended up having a ton of fun. It was totally worth going, was clean, and had a lot to offer.

It is a nice place to visit and enjoy a day by the lake. You can take a swim or relax on the beach and enjoy some beach side bars. I went during an airshow, so very busy.

Chicago Sunrises and sunsets are the best with the skyline in foreground or background. A bit of walk from parking areas but biking is always a great choice or just simply walking!

Beautiful beach with ridiculous restrictions on swimming. Maximum you can go as deep as your waist, lifeguards in boats stay there. You just can walk in the water. That is it. Restrictions are like for kids, not for adults. If you want to enjoy swimming, you can go to concrete, close to the road. Sandy beach and swimming don't go together. I've never seen such restrictions anywhere in the world.

As a local i love this place during summer time. Its a whole vibe . There are little bars and so many people during evening time. A great place for jogging or just have a good beach day.

Yous have to visit the beach here in Chicago. Steps away from the Lincoln park zoo. I recommend to park around the zoo if you don’t want to pay $40 for 4hrs in the parking lot.

Great beach, love that there is parking right off of Lake Shore Drive. There is always a ton of people there so it’s a party atmosphere, love that there is kayaking available and the restaurants sells food and drinks. Seriously love the views of downtown. Highly recommend stopping here if it’s the summer season

Beautiful beach, clean, not crowded, full of life guards, perfect temperature water, lovely sand and surf. Nice access from Lincoln Park, easy walkways and piers so you can stay off the sand if you want.

Nice beach on the north side of Chicago. Popular with the locals. Has a magnificent backdrop of the Hancock Tower and the Chicago Skyline. Also has a big ship on the sand for parties. Conveniently next to the Lincoln Park Zoo
