A cultural heritage site at the heart of guwahati city. Worth visiting the museum here. All the ethnic groups of Assam are displayed appropriately. The artifact's are numbered but most of them are missing and the lighting is not adequate. Otherwise the museum is well maintained. Garden at the campus is also properly kept. Light and Sound show are not are played everyday. Assam handicrafts can be found in the campus.... .

This cultural complex is one of the major tourist hotspots of Guwahati. It has several museums each showcasing different aspects like art and culture, great personalities of Assam, etc. The spacious outside area is filled with greenery thereby making it convenient for relaxation. The availability of playing and amusement facilities make this complex a favourite destination for children. This is a place where grown-ups as well as children can enjoy.

There was no que. The tickets were 30 rs for adults and 10 for children. The centre has nice displays such as terracotta items, old instruments, bamboo artefacts, and other items. Again, no photography was allowed. There was a children's park which was filled, as you further walked in there were some paid rides. There was a small petroleum museum that gave information on oil refinery. There is a light and sound show, but since we went in the daytime, we could not get snaps. There are some souvenir shops where you can get bamboo jewellery, paintings, home decor items, clothes, and materials. A lot of digging and maintenance work was going on. It was a nice place to visit. A quiet and relaxing place to go to.

Visited on 20 November 2021. Absolute must if you love parks, children's park, arts, culture, museums, light & sound show or open air theater. It's a combination of all this with ₹30 ticket & ₹10 for camera fee. Don't forget to visit the temple at the top of hillock. One needs many hours to see every nook & corner. You can spend entire afternoon here. The place is well maintained with tourist amenities. Ample of car parking available near front gate.

Explore Northeast culture with a wide diversity of dressing, lifestyle, history, even weapons, used utensils, fishing equipments, art gallery and many more. Also bring along kids to the amusement park in it, a large area to explore many more. Lastly the iconic Bhupen Hazarika Museum in it.

We explored Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on a Sunday afternoon, finding it pleasantly uncrowded with an entry fee of Rs 30 for adults. Childhood memories flooded back as I reminisced about participating in art competitions here during its initial years of opening in 1997-98. Returning after 25 years, I noticed significant changes and new additions, though some areas were undergoing renovation. This venue, a harmonious blend of Assamese culture and heritage, features captivating dance performances, traditional art, and impressive artifact collections within its expansive complex. Additionally, there's a children's park and two small canteens, making it an overall delightful destination for tourists.

This place is total peace ... It is covered by a big area which is located in panjabari road. The tickets cost 30/- for adults and for kids it is 10/- . They also charge for digital and movie camera. They have museums of Assamese culture , heritage, historical statues ; 2 book library; picture gallery for paintings and photographs; a science museum for kids; 2 parks for children, a doll house, a stadium, an auditorium for different programs held here. They have a cafeteria which is up to the mark and hygienic, there's a restaurant is not that good . They have parking facilities which is free. They also have washroom and toilets . Overall a good place to know north east India's culture . Worth a visit if you are a tourist.

The Museum of Arts of the Govt. of Assam. It houses a variety of collection like cloth materials, various masks and statues of divine and mythical characters, weapons and various other aspects of Assamese culture. The arrangement of items has been undertaken by the Indian Museum located at Kolkata. Do drop by this location if you are travelling to Assam. A serene getaway in the heart of the city, set amidst beautifully maintained landscapes, open spaces, lush greenery and a hub for various cultural events. The museums and the architecture a proof of Assam's glorious past. Ticket prices only Rs.20. An evening with friends/family, or some alone time doing yoga or a quick jog, this is the place for you. Museum walls however needs to be repainted. Hence a star less. 🌟

Its a place which reflects the cultural and historical face of not just Assam and its people but also the people of entire North-East India. The entire area is scenic, well-maintained and clean. However, there are some space of improvements in the museum.

I recently visited this place, It looks fantastic from the outside. There is a ticket entry for this place . Its no doubt huge , there are a lot of statues of Assam culture related things. Its more like a garden except for the museum. The museum is no doubt very nice. It is a 3 story building. Assam culture clothes, music instruments , weapons, headgear, utensils are displayed over there. There is a shop where you can buy souvenirs and clothes if you wish to take back home. When I had visited that time half of the place was under renovation.

Entry 30/- per head. Enough sights and facilities for an entire day's visit. Museums are clean with plenty of exhibits- mostly cultural. Art exhibit is awesome as well but easy to miss- you have to take the catwalk inside the museum. All free except for the rides(50/-) past the museum but it seems they don't really care how old you are. Food is a little bland.

Beautiful place .Kids play zone is available . There is a separate area for couple of rides. Bhupendra Hazarika memorial is awesome. Abstract painting is nice. There is no AC in most of the rooms. There was a folk musical performance in the evening this Saturday which was unique. Although detail description in non Assamese language is not available

This place is a big facilities with museum about Assamese culture, very well maintained sculptures but the issue was it was non AC museum and less ventilation. Hence the management should work on keeping the place cool. There is a life story museum of Bhupen Hazarika which is a must watch. Also has canteen and play area. Overall good place to spend time with family 😃

The epitome of demonstration of cultural diversity of North East is vividly depicted. The compund was well organised by the committee and cleanliness is well maintained. Parks for children are present which give them a good sport . The evening lights give a different vibe . Worth visiting the place ✨
