Rupununi
Exploration
Review:
I
got
the
opportunity
to
visit
the
famous
Iwokrama
Canopy
Walkway
at
Atta
Rainforest
Lodge,
Rock
View
Lodge,
Moco
Moco
Falls
at
Sky
Valley
and
Kumu
Falls
at
Kumu
Village
with
Touring
Guyana.
The
journey
was
a
long
but
exciting
one
leaving
Region
4
to
Region
10
through
the
trails,
across
the
Kurupukari
crossing
into
Region
8
where
we
stopped
to
experience
the
beautiful
Iwokrama
Canopy
at
Atta
Rainforest
Lodge.
The
views
are
incredible.
PS
don't
look
down
if
you're
afraid
of
heights
😅
We
stopped
at
Rock
View
Lodge
which
is
located
a
few
meters
away
from
the
Annai
Airstrip.
The
mountains
were
covered
with
bits
of
rocks.
Here
we
saw
the
Arapaima
which
is
the
largest
freshwater
fish
in
Guyana.
We
also
visited
the
Waikin
Ranch
which
is
so
beautiful
and
peaceful.
They
had
some
good
coconut
water
🥥🤤
Then
into
Region
9,
Lethem
we
visited
Moco
Moco
Village
which
was
formerly
named
‘Ka-ya-Weng’
a
Makushi
phrase
meaning
‘Sky
Valley’.
I
also
hiked
the
999
steps
to
Black
Rock
mountain
at
the
old
Hydropower
station.
That
was
very
challenging
😅
but
the
view
was
amazing
and
so
worth
all
that
cardio.
We
also
visited
the
Kumu
Falls
on
Bird
Island
operated
by
a
gentleman
that
makes
the
best
swank
I've
ever
had!
We
hiked
to
five
different
waterfalls
where
we
had
some
water
massages
and
our
personal
jacuzzi
but
unfortunately
the
heater
was
broken.
🤭
We
also
visited
Ariwa
beach
which
is
along
the
Takatu
River
and
also
the
Takatu
Bridge.
The
Rupununi
Experience
was
indeed
an
experience
that
I
will
remember
forever.
It
was
four
awesome
days
packed
with
adventures
and
memories
to
last
a
lifetime.
This
was
one
I
checked
off
my
bucket
list!
There
were
so
many
new
things
to
experience
and
lots
of
different
foods
to
sample.
The
tour
was
well
organized
and
everything
occurred
according
to
schedule.
The
tour
guide
was
knowledgeable,
ensured
that
the
group
was
taken
care
of
in
terms
of
meals
and
accommodation
and
proper
health
and
safety
precautions
were
adhered
to.
I
would
definitely
have
more
adventures
with
Touring
Guyana!
Here
are
some
photos
from
my
trip.
Hope
you
enjoy!
