Staff is nice, friendly and obviously know how to do their jobs. The hotel is clean and well kept with a variety of local dishes available for breakfast. Nice swimming pool and a spacious and well equipped fitness center. Location is close to the main town area but not too close. Choice of ocean view rooms but lacking balconies to sit outside.

The Marriott is a lovely hotel. I've stayed at the Marriott twice within 4 months and I've encounter 2 different issues with the water. The water in the bathroom was very brown on my first stay and on my second stay the water was shut off between 11pm and 4am. Trying to get in touch with room service by phone can be a hassle at times. However the food is really good. I highly recommend trying the duck rolls, caesar salad, wings and steak.

The rooms are 5 stars fit for a president. Jesus second coming. We must send him here so he can relax and enjoy life. The service needs upgrading. That's the sad part of it all. Guyanese don't try their best to do their jobs politely with a smile and happy tone of voice. They need to understand that customers pays their salary. If you don't like the job. Just quit and have someone who's motivated to do these jobs to be hired. The pool is excellent and also the atmosphere here is above most other hotels. Have competition about 5 minutes away. Thank you and stay safe.

This is a review for their taxi service only. BE CAREFUL asking for taxi from them. We were charged $1100 gyd. Gave 2k but desk didn't have change. Driver said he had change but when we arrived he said he didn't have change. The price difference is inconsequential to us but or others, BEWARE of booking a taxi through the Marriott. Make sure you get all you change back before getting in the taxi. Lesson learned.

We just returned from a fabulous stay at the Georgetown Marriott. We are lifetime Platinum Marriott members and got upgraded rooms, breakfast/dinner included in the Elite lounge. Food was excellent, we had a delicious breakfast every morning, all the guyanese favourites- pepper pot, pumpkin and roti, salt fish, fried fish, provision, fresh fruit, pine tarts, beef patties, smoked salmon and bagels, etc etc. Service here was superb, especially from the beautiful and friendly Cynthia who always greeted us with a smile at breakfast, and lovely Daniella who served us wine with dinner on the outdoor patio as we enjoyed the sea breeze. The poolside bar was excellent also, we cooled off with frozen margaritas at the end of our long days visiting family. We had an amazing time here, and would highly recommend!

We stayed for three nights. Ocean view is a must-have. The staff is amazing and extremely kind. They went above and beyond to make our anniversary special with a sweet surprise. The kids loved the pool, and we loved the gym. The food was excellent!

It was a ok stay, rooms could have been kept cleaner during over night cleans, bar staff definitely needs to work on customer service. Traveled around the world, overall service is far from 5 stars.

Lovely hotel with the familiarities of home in Guyana. The exterior is aged but attractive, but the interior is beautiful and well appointed. Rooms are large and comfortable with all of the trappings of a standard Marriott including the great beds. The elite recognition at check in included a delicious local rum which was not to be missed. The pool and facilities are well maintained, and the on site taxi pool is a bit expensive but extremely safe and convenient. The food in both the lobby bar and executive lounge is fresh and delicious. The executive lounge with complimentary breakfast, afternoon snacks, drinks, and a lovely waterfront balcony is not to be missed for Marriott elites. Service in the lounge was phenomenal including great customer service from the team including Daniella. Service is never rushed, but it is occasionally hard to get a check due possibly to the relaxed nature of the Caribbean. Despite that the staff was conversational, helpful, and great to deal with. We will hopefully be back!

The service at this hotel is terrible for being regarded as the best hotel in Guyana. The service is not up to standard, especially at the restaurant Terra Mere. The wait time was excessively long (around 2 hours) and when I asked that one of the items that I didn't like the taste of and didn't eat be removed from my bill, they refused. This was very upsetting given the fact that a standard room cost $700 USD a night.

The hotel property is well kept and clean. The rooms are immaculate, with quality towels and beds that are still firm. The staff is friendly for the most part. Whatโ€™s disappointing is the restaurant/bar. Pricey pricey pricey. The food was good, however.

When it comes to hotels in Georgetown, Guyana, there aren't many choices. The Marriott is the only hotel in its class, and none of the other hotels compare. The hotel is very clean, the food is great (special thanks to Chef Michael!), and the overall atmosphere makes you feel at home away from home. At first, I decided to stay at another hotel, but that was not a good choice. After just one night, I booked at the Marriott, which made my trip (7 nights) great! Thank you your hospitality and for taking care of us throughout our entire stay!

Hotel staff is very pleasant and courteous. Rooms are very comfortable with scenic views of the city and the beach/ocean. The dining is 5 star, whether it is the Marriott burger or the exquisite breakfast buffet. Highly recommended

Had a Delightful experience with a great service staff. We had 2 separate visits during our recent visit to Guyana. Rooms are pricey as compared to other hotels in Georgetown, but worth it if you are seeking a luxury experience. If you have access to executive lounge - this is an added bonus. One of the best experiences as far as the service staff friendliness is concerned. The terrace outside can be windy but is pleasant. Pool, Gym and other restaurants are as expected from this class of hotel. Highly recommended.

Everything you would expect from a chain hotel. It was great at this hotel in terms of decor. Maid service is hit and miss. One day they did turn down service and when we got back one bed was wet. Restaurant staff needs work. They pack up food while you are using the buffet, and the restaurant is open (pictures attached) . Food and drinks are expensive. Literally American Prices. Front desk staff was friendly and makes customers felt welcome. Restaurant closes at 10pm. No communication between transportation service at hotel an guest allowed so you have to physically go down to the lobby if you want to talk to them. They don't answer the phone.

I've stayed at this hotel many times, and I must say the staff are very friendly. Marriott hotel is clean, and comfortable. I must say the one thing that stand out the most is Chef Michael Samonte food was tasty mouth watering good and he was so professional when I met him. I would go there again and recommend this hotel and the food to anyone.

We had a fantastic week here at the Marriott. Staff couldn't do any more! Special shout out to the staff in the 3rd floor Executive Lounge, Samawayne, Cynthia, Ashana, Chef Cathy and Dexter. And the wonderful Ebony on front desk,

Checked into this hotel at 3am to be greeted by a dirty bed covered in hair and dirt . The bathroom shower area and sink are also covered in hair. The coffee machine had dirty cups and old tea bags. Very disappointing for +$400 a night

Stayed here recently for work. The most amazing and lovely staff and accommodations. Thank you to Asher and Amanda for your kindness and hospitality! Anytime I am in Georgetown I will ONLY stay here! Felt like a home oasis away from home!

Very comfortable hotel and the only international 4 star hotel in Guyana. Rooms are really expensive, fortunately they can also be had for a reasonable amount of Marriott points. Itโ€™s not walking distance to town about a mile away, but not a far taxi. The TV kept flickering on and off. Otherwise quite functional.

I didnโ€™t stay at the hotel, but i have frequent the restaurant. The service has consistently gotten worst and its a shame that a big brand like the Marriott would let service be their least focus area. The food is delicious, compliments to the chief and kitchen staff. The greet and sitting staff were polite and inviting. The service staff was slow, rude and didnt have a sense of urgency or brand representation. It was difficult to hear what they was asking and when we said pardon me, she would roll her eyes as if we said something offensive or we weโ€™re waisting her time. After checking in on us twice, we never saw her back. We had meeting to go to and couldnโ€™t get our bill. Highly dissatisfied with this establishment.

Good friendly service. Wheelchair accessible elevator. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Food REALLY tasty. Strong wifi. Ocean view Beautiful, but dirty from shallow water etc. Far away from airport. Overall a good place to stay

The pros : good standard compared to the rest of the country , good breakfast with selection of local dishes, generally good service. When a problem is flagged, staff try hard to fix it and improve The cons : expensive, in particular food and beverage. Poor sound proofing of the rooms, a major issue when there are parties on the space between hotel and the sea

The rooms are standard Marriott quality. The service is consistent and cleanness is excellent. However, the restaurants price quality compared to other restaurants are below expectations. This is in particular for open buffet. The food quality and seasoning is random. Maybe the food manager should have international cuisine exposure and manage the chefs accordingly. As for wine choice, there is plenty of choice and the price quality is good. One can enjoy Italian wines for reasonable price. With regards to reservation, it's practically impossible to reach them by phone. There is always room for improvement. Wine experience is recommended and it can be paired with choices of apertizers.

Wonderful Hotel!! The interior is gorgeous and the staff was very friendly especially in the executive lounge! My room was spacious and had a great ocean view! I am Guyanese American and stayed here on a trip to visit family! What I really appreciated was the Guyanese food offered during breakfast in the main restaurant and at dinner in the executive lounge! For the hotel to honor the country it's in by highlighting it's local food is something I think every Marriott should do! I actually did a review of this hotel and my trip on my radio show All The World's a Stage on WDRBMedia via iheart radio. Every Thursday at 5pm (EST) I talk about my recent travels and creative pursuits while giving travel reviews and tips, interviewing performing artists who travel for wok, etc. Insta @ayanambey

I joined the Gym Club for a month. Enjoyed the pool and restaurant. The food was very good, especially the lunch special. Great value. The pool is very clean as are the washroom and changing room.

Indeed rooms are lovely and restaurant staff especially Aquaba are well trained in Customer service and diplomacy. Room amenities needs improving but oh my gooseness it's expensive for a local community in Guyana ... can the Guyanese public afford this kind of luxury you're advertising for tourist ... If a Guyanese family decides to go on a treat, they won't choose Marriott plus the food ain't all of that either ... We suggest that you drop your prices to accommodate foreign and local customers. Admittedly Iโ€™ve spent most of my 2 day stay in the 3rd floor executive lounge. The patio has a great view and I was blessed to have great temperatures. But most importantly I wanted to mention Daniela, Jamal, and the Kitchen staff that are coving this area. The food has been excellent and they have a very positive and courteous attitude. Thank you so much guys for making my first stay a memorable one. I canโ€™t wait to come back.

Not an overnight stay, just went in for sushi. Service was good, informative wait staff. Sushi was good, upper mid tier. Some rolls had a Guyanese take on "traditional" favorites. The Seared Tuna Mango Salsa toll was nice, with a surprising flavor.
