Great historical place....must visit.... request MP Tourism to please maintain and revamp the tourist service...this will definitely amplify the tourism.....Tomb of Tansen is besides this monument....in fact Muhammad Ghaus was the guru of the great Tansen...and hence Tansen's tomb is besides him
Amazing place to be. There were tombs of Tansen relatives as well. Huge site of tombs. Well done not know names, also some ruins were there. Felt peace there.
"The Tomb of Mohammad Ghaus in Gwalior is a beautiful site, located conveniently near Tansen Tomb. The stunning Mughal architecture and well-maintained gardens create a serene atmosphere perfect for exploration and reflection. However, I was disappointed to find there was no drinking water available on-site, which is essential for visitors, especially in the warmer months. Despite this, the historical significance and beauty of the tomb make it a worthwhile visit. Just be prepared to bring your own water to fully enjoy this lovely place!"
Very beautiful place and there is Tansen samadhi too Loved the architecture there and it’s a must visit place if you are visiting Gwalior
Tomb of Muhammad Ghaus - Guru of Tansen. Tansen's tomb also lies inside same campus. It is said that Tansen (born as Ramatanu) wished to be placed near his guru's tomb. Apart from these two major tombs, descendants of Muhammad Ghaus are also buried here. Tansen received title from Raja Vikramjit of Gwalior. After Akbar heard his accoloades, he was called over and was appointed as one of the Navaratnas in his court.
It is a popular heritage site at Tansen nagar of Gwalior city in Madhya Pradesh. It is a must visit place while doing a local city tour of Gwalior. Opening and closing time depending on sunrise and sunset so in different seasons the timings may differ, must check with the local public for timings. Dec - 2024
Some of the most beautiful jali work I've seen. Note Google doesn't lead you to the right point of entrance. It is from the main road directly north of the cemetery.
Visited Oct 2024. Not much I can add to what the other reviewers have already written. This place is amazing. Stone lattices out of this world. A must visit.
